Vinnie was able to get a good night's sleep in prison because supposedly he was used to the noise of people in a city. It was a constant din, not a sudden sound in the midst of silence. (Many urban dwellers have a hard time getting to sleep when it is too quiet, minus even the sudden noise that wakes up Vinnie.)

Bisscute I stuttered all the way through highschool and after years of speech lessons it was difficult but that scene was funny as hell. Don't feel uncomfortable about laughing, it only hurt me when I knew the intent was to mock or embarrass me. The film was written with Vinnie being Dyslexic, and thats partly why it took so long to pass the Bar exam, and partly why it takes him so long to get through the book on proceedures (the dyslexia was cut from the final script, but Pesci still plays him in a way that gives the impression, anyways)

I'm with you on the stutterer. As an ex-stutterer (it sometimes comes back with anxiety), I always get sad when I hear someone else stutter in real life. But here, I don't think the joke is "hey! He has a stutter! That's a funny sound!" so much as the fact that it comes out of nowhere. Stan has already lost faith in Vinny, thinks he's safe, and he's left with this guy who stutters (no biggy in itself), spits on the jury by mistake (uhoh), chooses wrong words (big trouble now) and hands arguments to the prosecution. The stutter is just the prelude to the joke, and the punchline is "I'm getting better".

There is a comic that has a delayed stutter and he's very successful. He pokes fun at himself and he expects you to laugh other wise he's not doing his job lol.

grits are wonderful. they're mainly eaten in the Southern USA (in history, it was considered food for poor people). i am from Texas and grew up eating this type of food. it is made from hominy which is a type of corn product. then it is dried and ground into a rough meal. then boiled into a porridge. (think of it as a sort of "loose polenta"). grits can be eaten with cheese, shrimp, eggs, pulled pork, bacon, or with milk and sugar as "sweet grits". if you ever have a chance to try grits, do so. some people do not like the texture (it's a little "rough") but aside from that it is a well loved food.

How I grew up eating grits is alongside eggs with the yellow runny. Mix the eggs up with the grits (with salt/butter of course) and it's fire. My wife wouldn't eat grits like that, if she ate grits at all. Then went to a restaurant and she got a breakfast bowl that had grits, bacon, and eggs all mixed up and she was like 'this is great'! I said, yeah, I know. It's the same thing I do at the house that you turn your nose up on.

Joe Pesci was in "My Cousin Vinnie", "Good Fellas", "Home Alone" and few we others. Fred Gwynne was the Judge in "My Cousin Vinnie, and Herman Munster "The Munsters", "Disorganized Crime', "The Cotton Club" etc. and Macchio in "The Karate Kid" and a whole lot more. Also you have to keep in mind that people from the city have always thought that people from the country thought that people from the city.werr just plin stupid. Also that as long as I remember is that guy's do not want to admit that women are equally as smart as they are or even smarter because it makes them feel dumb and stupid. That is what they call "Battle of the Sexes" even though they are both on the same side and not competing against them at all. But anyway back to the picture. But anyway the guy that was a studder practice by practicing how to as well as spitting all over the place and that he was also like Vinnie new to the lawyer business thing too. He was the public defender who said that he will get better as he goes too. Remember about six o'clock in the mornings the stupid rooster will crow to wake everybody up In the movie eailier. Marisa Tomei earned every ounce of her Oscar for this film. Its replay value is incredible, even after you know the verdict. This is the most quotable courtroom drama in history. Including A Few Good Men. "Two Yoots!" Tops "You can't handle the truth!" In my book.

50:27 I love the look the judge gives Mr Trotter there, it's basically saying "are you gonna dismiss the case, cause if you don't then I'll do it for you"

Marisa Tomei is so great in this! Have another comedy for you; “Oscar”, which also has her in a supporting role. Seriously funny film with a cast of talent, including Stallone who is the lead. Brilliantly scripted & one has to pay attention because of the underlying humor throughout. Hope you consider, really think you will enjoy it.

You don’t have to prove innocence you just have doubt in guilt.

I used to have a screech owl in my backyard that would screech like the one in the movie. It liked it because it kept my cotton tail rabbit problem under control.

This is one of the most accurate court room movie. So accurate many law schools show this to their students.

You don't have to 'prove their innocence' in court, that's why they call them 'the defense'. You just have to provide the jury with 'reasonable doubt' that they're guilty.

Vinny: "And what are these really big things right in the middle of your view from the window of your kitchen to the Sac-O-Suds? What do we call these big things?"
Bisscute: "Happy trees, like Bob Ross." 😄😆😝😂🤣😄

Tomei be a childhood crush. Like a fine wine, better with age. But gotta say, Joe Pesci don't get enough credit for comedy rolls. Well versed actor. Funny guy...oh crap!!! Gonna get whacked....

The judge iis Fred Gwynne,, he played Herman Munster is the TV show The Munsters
You missed the card trick ("brick") when he said the prosecutors case and evidence is an illusion.... it was a diffrent card when he flipped it over than what he started with at the beginning of his speech.
