I'm pretty sure Moxxie didn't push his own mother, the small bit of horns we see are white, and only Imps born male have the white and black stripe horns, also i think the skin color and proportions are a little off, but it is still a horrible thing to do to your own son. And Crimson seemingly did still "get rid" of his wife hence her shoe in the water.
