if you don't take "historical importance" into account, Little Samson defo should be in the conversation for best NES game. it animates and plays SOOOOO GOOOOOOOD, for a NES game especially
Tecmo Super Bowl is definitely a top 10 NES game and might be the best sports game of all time. Thaks Jeff more mentioning it, a lot of people forget and over look it as to how good it actually is
Chiming in with my own experience regarding the square enix sales portion of the video. Mike speculates as to why FF7Rebirth didn’t sell more than it did. Personally, I avoided it like the plague after how badly Sqaure butchered the trophy list in the first remake. As an avid trophy hunter, it was a tedious, grueling nightmare of a chore of a burden to slog through that god awful trophy list for 100% completion. It completely turned me off of the second game. Devs need to learn to cater their trophy lists toward trophy hunters, the only people who actually care about trophies to begin with. We do not want forced multiple replays on ever increasing, absurd difficulties. We do not want overly tedious collect a thons. We do not want additional game modes or online trophies shoehorned into what is clearly otherwise a single player experience. We want clean, concise lists that can be attained in a single playthrough and which have interesting criteria. Look no further than Astrobot for the preeminent, perfectly designed trophy list.
FF7R will be able to run on the Series S just fine. It looks and runs great on the Steam Deck even. It was originally a PS4 game, so I wouldn't have any concerns for Xbox platforms.
Spiritual Warfare is better than The Legend of Zelda, and probably a top 3 NES game. And River City Ransom should also be on this list. But, as usual, no one ma played Spiritual Warfare, so it always gets overlooked.
I think Zelda 1 is the best NES game. This is a great episode, guys. I opened a txt file and made my own list while listening. Love the show
7:38 The show begins.
Palword signed a multimedia expansion deal with Sony quite recently. That might have pushed Nintendo over the edge.
PalWorld is now a no show at TGS, its dead Jim.
Mike will NEVER finish FF16, calling my shot.
AMY also was featured on Giant Bomb, in a Vinny/Patrick Quick Look.

As a design patent examiner it’s true: all patents are lame! 😂
Jeff can't run a podcast without pressing the wrong button. Who really wants to trust him to pilot a plane? 😂

Your list is dope. I did get worried when you considered SMB over SMB3... that was a weird trmporary conversation
I’M WITH YOU CRISTIAN, 1000xRESIST IS THE BEST GAME THIS YEAR. maybe the best video game story… ever?
Would be very funny if the list you fixed was a KF GOTY list
Interesting how only half of your top 10 NES games made it onto the NES Classic

If they put ff7r on xbox dont they have to make it so it runs on the s as well as the x?
Tbh that time spent on the s just seems like its more trouble than its worth.

Ninja Gaiden 2. The improvement to the climbing was a literal game changer.

I could name 10 games that I would rather play over a 2D Mario on the NES
I would’ve taken out ducktales for Batman lol
The only thing that would help Bloodborn is a remake by someone other than Fromsoft.
Final Fantasy VII remakes bastardized the story and gameplay. People wanted a 1 to 1 remake with just modern graphics.
Team Palworld! Shove it Nintendo!
