It's really funny how one's body chemistry can totally change the way perfume smells on one person to the next. Funny Story: The was a Thierry Muglier representative that was spraying Angel and I thought it smelled amazing on her. Well she sprayed it on me and within seconds I really just wanted to go and bathe. I smelled like a forest of rotting trees. It was awful. I was so disappointed because I especially loved the bottle. I went back and the Rep introduced me to Alien ... again I loved it because of the beautiful purple bottle. She was kind enough to give me a sample to take home to try later. One day I needed to pop into the Mall after work and I didn't have any perfume on so I quickly sprayed some Alien and proceeded into Dillard's to cut through the mall. I'll be honest. I really did not like the smell that much. I was a few yards outside Dillard's and into the mall when this young and very pretty girl game running up behind me and asked what I was wearing saying her boyfriend wanted her to smell just like me. Well being twice her age that was a huge compliment. LOL I immediately turned around and went right back into Dillard's a bought the entire set! It is a strong scent and I only wear it during Fall/Winter and at night but every time I wear it I remember the ultimate compliment I received and I just smile! Oh bonus??? The bottle is refillable!!! How great is that???
Oh my oh my, when you pulled the Angel bottle, I was like: Tati understands it,OMG I just love it even if it is so powerful. Angel is my mom's signature perfume, the one she wears and then everyone in a room knows she is there. Such a sophisticated sent. Alien by the same creator (Thierry Mugler) is a strong sophisticated perfume too :) As far as I am concerned, I love love love Flowerbomb by Victor & Rolf, Insolence by Guerlain and Bvlgari Rose Essentielle :)
Tati, Since u mentioned it--- Random health &beauty fact of the day: Smell(scent) is the strongest sense tied to memory. That's why you can walk into a store and smell something that reminds you of the way your grandma's house smelled to you as a kid. But, chances r you won't ever walk into Macy's, and see(sight) a muted purple shirt &have it remind u of the color curtains that used to be in your childhood bedroom. I love alot of these scents too. You should try Jimmy Choo & giorgio armani- acqua di gioia (they r both beautiful scents).
hey tati, i'm watching this hoping you'll do a 2017 update; but i wanted to tell you that scents can bring you back because in your brain the nerve that determines smell is the same that runs past your memory center so it activates it. just a cool scientific fact :)
I was told if you spray perfume on your wrist then RUB them together it causes the perfume molecules to break up leaving you with a shorter lasting and slightly different smell- have you tried spraying each wrist and not touching them together in order to see if the smell is different than usual?

Champagne by yves saint laurant is the perfume that rockets me back to childhood as it for me is the smell of my mum! She used to put it on any time she was dressing up or going out somewhere special...even school plays and our birthday parties. So its so compforting to me! My dad actually tracked it down and brought her a bottle this christmas! Such lovely memories.

Scent can really evoke strong memories and feelings. My mother used to wear an Avon fragrance years ago. She passed away when I was 8. About 30 years later, my sister found her signature fragrance and sent me a bottle. I thought, why did she send me thus, I don't really want it but as soon as I took the cap off and smelled it, I burst out in tears in that second. It took me right back to being 8 years old with my mother before she passed away.
Absolutely adore Angel, I'm a guy but I just love how it is feminine but quite masculine (or atleast to me). Angel is my absolute addiction, when it comes to scents.
I have tried so many different perfumes over the years (Hillary Duff, Elisabeth Arden , D&G and so on). But i have now settled for Chance Chanel eau fraiche and eau tendre. They are just perfect! I have repurchased them time and time again. I also love coco mademoiselle when it is winter. The Chanel fragrances are just fantastic (and i always get compliments on how good i smell) ;)

I also love Angel...after it's been on my skin for at least an hour, because it really does smell like body odor or something until those top notes wear off. I've been really itching to try Lolita Lempika, it sounds like it would be right up my alley.
My favorites right now are My Burberry and Modern Muse! I'll definitely have those around for Christmas. I also like Jimmy Choo Flash on very special occasions as it's stronger on me.

One of my favorite memory scents is called Vanilla Musk. My mom used to wear it and when I hugged her when she picked me up from daycare I could smell it on her n LOVED it. It always smelled better in the winter for some reason like the "smell of cold" plus that perfume was amazing. I have 2 bottles of it now and I hardly ever wear it but when I do I'm instantly like 4 years old again getting picked up from daycare :)

Hi Tati, my winter fragrance for day is Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle. In the summer, I wear Dior's Escale at Portofino. For causal days, I wear Acquai di Gio and for evening, I will go for something like Guerlain's La Petite Robe Noire or Chane's Cristalle
After I watched this video I googled the D&G perfume out of curiousity and I couldnt resist and bought it. Blind buy! And OMG it is the best blind buy, its the classiest perfume I own now. Favourite autumn (fall) and winter scent would be Indian Night Jasmine by the Body Shop (previously Neroli jasmine but it was rebranded) odd choice but its cheap, best lasting power of any perfume I've ever used and smells warm, sweet and sensual and it's a great option if you don't have a lot of money but want something that performs and smells like an expensive perfume, highly recommend.
Try Thierry Mugler's fragrance Womanity. It comes in an amazingly stunning bottle with pink liquid and it's described as a sweet and savory perfume. It has figs in it and caviar. It is so nice!
I love the With Love from Hilary Duff, too. But for me, it's more an autumn / winter scent. Nevertheless a great celebrity fragrance. Thanks for reminding me of Yvresse. In my early twenties, I so wanted to wear it, but it just didn't fit, because I consider it a more grown up scent. Fifteen years later, I am gonna try it again!
I am in love with Alien by the makers of Angel....Angel is worn frequently by my roommate's mom so I wouldn't reach for that...but Alien...omg. It's a fragrance story like yours with the YSL one. Not as sweet but it tells a story to me and I can't get enough of it.

I just re-purchased Lolita a month ago and know of that YSL Champagne perfume lol! I was taking a modelling course and had to "work" a women's beauty show and got like 10 samples of that stuff and loved it! I will have to try out that new D&G I wore the old red cap one when I was 21ish so now that there is a new incarnation 13 years later I will have to try! Great video!!:)

I loved this video...you explained the scents so well I loved your stories too! It's refreshing just hearing someone calmly talking instead of the overly bubbly character stating that each fragrance is flowery or sweet lol

Hi, you look so beautiful today! I too love perfumes. When I feel special I reach for my Chanel perfume. I have Chance the original and the Eau Tendre and Coco Mademoiselle. Love the Gucci Flora , Coach Poppy, Vince Camuto, and D&G Light Blue.
Pink sugar sounds like the type of perfume I would wear, I loooove sweet vanillary scents so I just ordered a bottle off eBay lol. Love this vid, thanks for doing it :) xo

I just re-purchased Lolita a month ago and know of that YSL Champagne perfume lol! I was taking a modelling course and had to "work" a women's beauty show and got like 10 samples of that stuff and loved it! I will have to try out that new D&G I wore the old red cap one when I was 21ish so now that there is a new incarnation 13 years later I will have to try! Great video!!:)
my current love is miracle by Lancome. Idk what it is but it smells amazing, i know that one of the notes is magnolia. It just smells heavenly!
I love Jean Paul Gaultier - classic scent. It's a great fragrance for autumn and winter. I've been through about 6 bottles of it over the years :)
