That's okay. But he is quite right in claiming that absence of evidence can't be used to arrive at conclusion. That's another kind of logical fallacy. Even probabilistically, if you consider Russel's Teapot, there is a very miniscule amount of probability of there being a teapot orbiting around the sun. However, probabilistically it is thus concluded that there is a very low probability of a teapot orbiting around the sun. Google "Black Swan Fallacy" and "Shifting the burden of proof" fallacy. Religious believers often commit the second one whilst a strawman atheist would argue with the first one.

This is the first time I found Prakhar's arguments weak. Mixing rituals, culture, religion and faith is the most murky way to tackle the questions around God. The attitude of questioning holy existence/notions has been one of the oldest practices of this land which we proudly accept. Let's leave that room for all of us.

Prakhar's arguments are biased towards supernatural existence while it's more rational to question this supposed existence first.
Also, any holy book can't be considered an evidence like he said. It's a work of fiction/philosophy/social study.

I think as an atheist , i should clarify something
I can never prove a negative, so i can't prove that god is not there just like i can't prove that anything is not there
So the constraints of my arguement would be to prove that i am doing a better job than a theist to find the nature of truth.
As an atheist i rely on much more objectives truth that are easily replicable by other people with different perspectives. I also have the humility to accept that i have not discovered the absolute truth , 2000 yrs ago when we didn't even know that the earth goes around the sun. I am not saying that truth and lies are at two extreme , i am just saying it is a spectrum on which i am doing objectively better than a theist.
Well if u can't give scientific and objective truth about existence of god and you still believe in it, then how are u better than a flat earthers or a person who does voodoo?
God is an escape of logic, that is we have made this all powerful creature that could do anything at anytime. So we can explain almost any event by god for ex- we used to think that lightning is caused by god until we found out that it is due to electric discharge of clouds.
So my ideas are not written in stone and that is a good thing as i can change it and make it better as time goes on. Our humility towards our ideas is not our vulnerability.
Excuse my bad English, i am trying to improve 😊

sushant kumar i completely fall under your category of belief, however it’s not atheism exactly which you’re talking about it’s called omnism where a person may believe in all religion or have a lack of thereof but the most important theory again to that person is “I know that I don’t know “

sushant kumar So basically Agnosticism of any kind means “without proof( the proof should be of a kind defined by human logic)” so if you are an agnostic theist that means you believe in God(the literal one as defined by religion)but also know that there’s no proof for the same and An agnostic atheist you do not believe in God but again you know that there’s no legit way to prove your belief......however an omnist is just not limited to think that there’s no proof for my belief/disbelief in religion but also knows that though no religion is truth but the truth is found in all. They are sure that the way religion is interpreted by the world is far too literal but if one understands the meaning and depth which is all a reference to the spiritual world then it might not be completely false. Precisely speaking the only difference is that an omnist believes in seeking truth to which any or maybe all religion(if perceived in a non-literal fashion i.e in it’s true symbolic sense) can lead them to the ultimate truth and there is a strong possibility that they will find it that way as the belief goes. There is a very subtle difference between these two terms so yes you really need to understand these things before exactly getting on which category you fit in, but again beliefs do change with time as perceptions do !
I hope I could explain myself

Bro, there is a difference between belief and faith. Belief is something that you can question rationally, whereas there's no question in faith. And perhaps the most important element here is "accountability". There's no accountability in faith, whereas there's always an accountability in belief inspite of acceptance. For instance, in democracy, people have belief in the system or law or their head of Govt which means though people believe him still he's accountable to them. But where a king rules, people are told to have just faith in him/ his process where it could be just BUT there's no accountability. Hence, faith is blind acceptance where belief is acceptance with the possibility of questioning and reasoning which isn't present in the former.

well first of all, I have to say, as an atheist, loved your content. although there are few things I'd like to put forward, the prime mover argument has long been discussed and rebutted, like why does the prime mover does not have a mover himself? And if can attribute him the property of not needing a "mover", then why can't we just do that with universe and skip the whole step? Also, Science isn't necessarily compatible with the whole prime mover argument, take for example Stephan Hawking's argument, time and space began at the big bang, the idea of a "before the big bang" does not make sense and so there was no time (or space) for a creator to exist in. Next, "the absence of evidence is not an evidence of absence", absolutely agree with William Cowper's quote but in a way you're making a strawman out of most atheist, because most of us don't "believe" or know for a fact that there is no god, because there is just not way to prove that negative yet, but like Russell's tea pot, since there is no evidence for a cosmic tea pot, I simply refuse to live my life as if it exists. Just because you can't prove that the cat did not enter your house does not mean you can blame the cat for the broken vase, specially if you've never seen a cat in your neighborhood. Coming to what you said about bible being a witness or evidence of a god is just plain wrong, you see, bible doesn't just claim that there was a son of a carpenter named Jesus and many people followed and loved his teaching and even got crucified for it, the problem arises when it makes supernatural claims like say walking on water. Think about this, if I write a biography about my grandpa and in one page I write "He made the best fried chicken" and on the other page I write "he'd get his culinary skills by feeding the unicorn he had raised in his backyard", would you say either both has to be write or both has to be wrong? Also, do you think a book similar to a holly book will be counted as an evidence in a court? or will it be thrown out as hearsay? Also, we don't really have to get into the logic/illogic of the stories like Muhammad riding a winged horse and chopping the moon in half or Adam and Eve having a conversation with a snake, do we?
it's not my belief that you'll say something useful that led me here, it's my curiosity and in a way your editor's neat work that brought me here, I don't believe that a car will not hit me if I go for a stroll, that's why I chose to walk on the side walk and look both ways before crossing, I do live and act as if my dreams will come true one day but that's not because I believe or have a blind faith in myself, it's because I've been working towards it and have been progressing, so I have a pretty good reason to believe that unlike a belief in a god. Reason for being afraid of snakes and lizards is not because of a belief that it may hurt if it bites, it's because we know for a fact that it will hurt. So although I do agree there are a lot of things that we believe in (just not your examples), it's not the same as believing in a god. Atoms can be proved and have been proved to exist bro. Plato's allegory of the cave was meant to explain what it was like for him, to not be able to explain his ideas properly to the general public who are happy with their ignorance and are even hostile towards anyone who challenges them, so..
you can't really say religion is as good a belief as any other, simply because the consequences that followed were not the same as any other belief. If someone says, fascism is just as good a belief as any other, would you say he's correct?
You might wanna change the table example, I'm pretty sure the inventers of table didn't build the table first then decided what to be done with it, I'm pretty sure it was the other way round. "sab log common sense use karte toh ladke maar chuke hote", yeaa no, what makes you say that? Finally, I don't think it's the brilliance of the idea that we call religion that has kept it from changing, but let's not get into that, also, religion and rituals has had a lot of changes, like Christianity branching out, religion changing it's views on slavery etc and I don't think not having an upgrade is something to be proud of really.
PS. Let's just ignore the fact that you just demeaned all the Americans for enjoying booze after a good game they enjoy, even though we have uncles here too who enjoy a cool glass of bhang before they dance in Shiv ratri

Also a cat and God parallels are stupid. Here you are only talking about whether a living being come across this house or not, but you do know that this creature exists and can walk and run. But what is it about God (he she it they) we know ? If I say I can't see it, you will say it's invisible, if I say let's throw paint on it you will say it's intangible, if I will say does it responds to prayer you will say yes but in mysterious way...

*Why people think that theism is unscientific ?*
Atheism often parasitically draws on the prestige of science to take unsuspecting masses away from theism. How? By equating science with scientism.
Science investigates the nature of material reality, specifically its measurable parameters; it is like a map of a territory. Undoubtedly, scientific models are far more sophisticated than maps, still, like maps, scientific models are powerful tools for navigating reality. Yet just as the map is not the territory, scientific models of reality are not the reality. And as science studies only material reality, it can’t tell us anything conclusive about God, who is by definition a non-material being.
Different from science is scientism, which is the ideology that science alone can provide all knowledge. Scientism is actually unscientific because its core claims can’t be scientifically proven. The Bhagavad-gita (18.22) cautions that when we equate one fragment of reality with the totality of reality, as does scientism, our perception is in the mode of ignorance.
Scientism and atheism are natural bedfellows. Many atheists claim that God’s non-existence is a scientific conclusion, while actually it is their own ideological founding assumption that is grafted onto science through scientism. When an ideology claims to not be an ideology and therefore claims universal validity, that’s when it becomes disingenuous.
When competing ideologies such as theism and atheism are studied objectively without any preconceived labels, many of the world’s greatest scientists have found science and theism eminently compatible. French physicist Blaise Pascal put it well: “Little science takes you away from God, but more of it takes you to him.” As long as we equate science with scientism, we stay blind to God; when we free ourselves from the hubris of scientism, we become open to God.
      One-sentence summary:
The ideology that pretends to not be an ideology is often disingenuous - learn to see through atheism’s self-serving misappropriation of science.

@9:29 : Common sense is an evaluation of a fact according to your instincts - WRONG, Common sense, is the derivative of accepted idea/ commonly held belief according to your instincts, Its NOT fact already, its the sense/idea where many/ commons hold it.
Belief and faith are different, I wonder, How you got it wrong, Science is not belief system, its rational, experimental, logical implication, Faith is again the shared idea/ beliefs as in Hindusim, Islam, Chrisitanity is a faith, because it the same idea shared by many, and its more of emotional and not logical conclusions.
Humans are the combination of rational and irrationality, WE FEEL FIRST(Emotional) then we think later(LOGICAL), because we have evolved that way because we have developed neo cortex - logical thinking later, before cortex (emotional brain).

Whenever someone's belief gets challenged, person usually tends to get offend and protective of his/her belief, be that person is theist or atheist. We have to understand that belief is the integral part of a human being and we cannot live without it. We all believe in something in the fear of 'not knowing'. I wish if there would be a possibility to live with the fact of 'not knowing'. Atleast we should all be critical of our beliefs and till the last breath it should get questioned by ourselves, then only the humanity will thrive in a real sense.

@4:57 Okay! To jab tak evidence nahi milta, till then I can believe in literally anything. I can form my own logic and believe in that then. Why should I follow a religion for that? Let's just say I benefit from 25% hinduism, 40% islam and some sikhism in my life. A few aspects of all religions I take and form a mish mash of my own. Why that is a wrong thing then in many religions? When there is no evidence as you yourself said in your video, then I can literally believe anything. Then I am not following a religion, then I'm following a group of people who believe something to be true. That makes sense for me and I start following them. How do you give that a name of religion then? Why do you say that if I cross my hands, I'm doing a Hindu style prayer? When there is no historical proof of hindus crossing their hands to pray dating very far back in the past, then it is just a cultural thing that I learnt from my parents. How is that an aspect of religion?

Best thing to do is to read scriptures of as many religions are possible. You surpass the God. You are speaking in the context we don't know yet the God might be the truth. But then that time it would be consistent with the rationalism to believe that the God exists. Rationalism doesn't mean fixed ideas like Communism. One of the criticism of Communism is that it extracts it's value system from Abrahmic religions. Lastly what you are referring to was delt with by Nietzsche in Thus spoke Zarathustra. Also pragmatic approach would be to suspend the question if God exists and lead life with whatever lil reason you are equipped with. Ankho Dekhi movie has shown a way how to go about finding that reason for yourself which is more of experiential. Life is fun if you dive in to explore when you have no pre judged ideas, you appreciate the process.

    2) there is heaven and there is hell

But then comes religious authority.....who tells you what is good and bad so that you can do only good and get to go to Heaven....
    Two things here ...
    1) what kind of humanity teaches to do good so that you will get good returns....basically for you to have good returns (heaven), act nicely
    2) and if good and bad is defined by men of religion, they definitely manipulate it.....and not one or two...all religious leaders manipulate....thats basic psychology.....Bruce Lee was considered as God of Martial Arts....and he used to give useless advice on filming locations to his followers.......and everyone used to believe in it......so what he was not god of anything.....
And which God tells you to kill animals and eat them.....and particular animals are gods and others are not.....so chicken can be killed without mercy and cow is the only animal who won God's heart?

Religious faith is not the same as what people mean when they say they have faith that their partner is loyal. Belief does not = faith.

At its core, feminism is the belief in full social, economic, and political equality for women.
This is the definition of feminism. It does not say that women are oppressed because men are bad.
Also, where you said communists are rationalist by definition, I think you need to recheck the definitions of those two.

Started watching your video. Stopped at the point where you claim that 'faith' and 'belief' are the same. It's easy to shoot these 'dissection' videos and make flawed arguments which your followers might accept. But this man has been immersed in this subject for his entire life. And there's a reason he won the Richrad dawkins award for critical thinking. Listen to people like Hitchens, Sam Harris, Dawkins and even Dillahunty to understand the difference between been and faith. Also, the prime mover argument is flawed too. The fact that the prime mover doesn't require a mover means we're indulging in Special pleading. And even if we accept the prime mover argument, it leads us no where even close to a theistic God. It's a hollow claim. Keep researching

Some of the points from Jordan Peterson regarding the problem of void, purpose above oneself, bringing people to some initial moral ground from nothing, helped me to rethink religion.
Especially how the west is replacing Christianity with its new religion of Woke mirroring the same doctrines of Christianity. Like original sin is replaced with 'born with privilege', blasphemy is replaced with being labelled a white supremacist. These things made me rethink religion and spirituality as a means to finding meaning on an individual and group level in an otherwise chaotic and infinite world.

The prime mover argument isn’t the best argument of god. Cuz to be the prime mover it doesn’t even have to be sentient. I mean it doesn’t eliminate sentient being but it can’t prove that if it’s a god? God in religious sense obviously. Now you wanna call whatever it was either sentient or not ,god... then...ugh... were you you even looking for god in religious sense or just wanted to call it god no matter the result. Basically have bias . Now of course propbably not all religions have god a moral or sentient being on the top . Just the religions I know.
