Thanks for taking the time to produce and post this video. I do like the access to battery etc and cheaper priceof the IDSWorks grip but dislike 1) the Leica grip perfectly matches the camera, 2) you don’t need a coin to screw it in (and you can’t lose the screw) and 3) there is a tripod moint on the bottom. Given this I would pay the extra. I do agree with you 1) you really don’t need the grip AND the thumb grip and 2) the charging matt is hopeless, you have to be so precise with locating the Q3 over the charging coils that more often than not I pick up the camera thinking I am ready to go, only to find I have a flat battery.
I found the RRS L-Bracket grip to be just perfect. Has amazing ergo, finish and design matches the Leica, and it has a QD port for my kind of strap. Also has full clearance for battery and SD card access.
Good question, @MKWHD! Most likely since the body is exactly the same from what I can tell. Thanks for watching and asking! Are you planning to get (or already have) the Q3 43?

I almost bought, but decided to give a chance to JJC first. And it's a bull's eye for less than 1/3 of the price. Much recommended!
Ordered.
Excellent review! Precise, informative and no unnecessary content. TY

Thanks for watching, @113jvmpv! Let me know how you like it?
Excellent review - on the one they do for the X100VI there is a space for a spare card - now thats clever
Bought the Really Right Stuff L Plate Grip for mine...
Thank you for your presentation, I just ordered one to replace the Leica grip.
Thanks for watching, @francoisa2255! Let me know how you like it when you get it.
Can use the IDS Grip then place in a leather case ?

Where to get one in Malaysia
Does it work for the new leica q3 43?

@@Tech4Baba I already bought the Q3 43. Amazing camera. Best point and shoot there is. I ordered the grip so I will try it out.
The Leica q3 charging pad isn't difficult to line up at all - its damn near impossible.........definitely not my best Leica purchase
That's what I've been hearing... Thanks for watching, @nelsonclub7722! Are you looking for a better grip?

@@Tech4Baba Ps I sold mine with the charging pad today - and the thumb grip which was hellishly overpriced in the first place
Knock off of the Kamerakraft grips.
Except those grips have a much thicker base, which make the camera larger than needed.
