Went for my band 7 had enough experience and thought the interview went really well but they took a band 6 from their own ward.. so no matter how well you do, they won’t take you for a band 7 if you are not one of them.
The opposite happened to me few years ago. They took someone from outside for a bad 7 job. Situations are different and we can't assume everywhere is the same.

I feel the same way. Especially, if you are coming from the outside, or if you are returning to the trust. 😢
