What has happened is the whole concept of community in this country has been destroyed. Nobody seems to care about their neighbor, their town, ... Its all about competing against one another to get the most/best stuff. There is a whole mentality of 'I've got mine, go get your own and leave me alone.' The powers that be also keep people "medicated" with sportsball, beer, tv, ... and distracted from the reality going on around them. It's a grim situation - one that humans will NEVER solve on their own.

I've never been a "big picture" guy. I'd like to think I'm a little smart, so I'm utterly confused at why America is turning into this disconnected, unaware, corrupt dictatorship caused by lost motivation and punishment for speaking out. Is it really about total, absolute power? I bring this up to friends who talk about removing our government and its officials, and I ask then what?
What we "need" is to restructure our government. Sideline the people in current power and change on a federal and state level how to enter politics. Schools, education should be about core STEM first and everything else is an elective a parent signs off on. It's their responsibility to be involved in their child's education.
From a veterans perspective, we don't need to be a global police force. We need to stay ready and keep our borders and our interests INTERNALLY sound. I get preemptive and some propping up governments in foreign lands, but its just seems like we interfere to interfere. I didn't sign up for that, and I guarantee selling that is why retention and recruitment is so bad. I want to stay optimistic, but for me at least, they won. I have zero faith in anyone, or anything, and I'm genuinely just waiting out the doomsday clock.
Unfortunately I feel like America needs to come upon very hard times to get the gears rolling to fix this country.

The Boy Scouts back in the 70 s was awesome they were some of the best memories I’ve got as a kid at a week long summer camp cost 25 bucks we slept in alean to built in the 50s out of logs on army bunks we got up at revially in the morning before daylight got cleaned up and in uniforms and then went to the big mess hall and ate a very good breakfast and then we went to merit badge classes mine was the mile swim , wilderness survival , marksmanship , canoeing hell I learnt to swim in two days and did the mile swim at the end of that 7 day week those were great times buddy !!
The majority of us that live in or near big cities are just tired of the constant barrage on our traditional institutions. You are correct when you state running from the problem is not the solution. But when the demographics in your area changes to a people that do not have the historical connection you have to the nation or moral code,it is a Herculean task to maintain any institution. I think what we long for is space to raise our families, connection back to the land, and the freedom to exercise our founding American identity. Thank you for your efforts and content you create.

It’s wild man. These phones are getting in the way of a lot. You’ve got a lot of good points here. I got the chance to hang out with my grandparents a lot as a child and I saw a different world compared to today. That generation just had to do it and they did it.
I tell my mom that we will know a riot is a serious revolution when they burn down courthouses and city halls. As long as a riot only goes for businesses, it will never go anywhere or make any change. When we see that happening, you know it’s serious.
I think we need to organize a march, and organize so we can stand up for ourselves. We will be outnumbered before too long. This border thing is nuts. I don’t think my grandpas generation would have stood for this back in their day.

My "Russian" Orthodox priest retired as an O3 out the 101st, got a Phd from a Baptist Seminary and was head of Baptist Missions to Eastern Europe for a decade. You can replace a corrupted system with the exact same sort of system; but put new checks in place to keep the ones that made the original system fail...so the issues don't occur again.
The founders of the United States based this government off other forms of government.
For example term limits would be a good start. Get rid of career politicians on all levels. Require actual pledges to the constitution... And have criminal repercussions if those pledges have been violated.
Give up lavish unnecessary toys and purchases. Downsize your life. Homeschool. Connect with homeschool co-op near you. Get in shape. Read lots with a wide breadth of topics. Be emotionally available and stable. Go to church and make sure it’s solid. Serve your community and have acts of service. Teach your children these ways.

Well, you are right. Sad to say. The problem is getting the change to at least begin to happen and then to keep it going. Many folks become weary of trying and so give up. They need what the military needs for their grunts...a good leader or leaders to keep them motivated and moving forward to continue the fight. They need inspiration to continue on even though the battle, for now may seem hopeless and useless. To many think they can't win or make a difference so they dont see why they should even try. I think many folks need that win, not a small little victory (although they add up to a big win) but a big win in something concerning the country and where its at today. They see a lot of loses that seem to be big loses but fail to see that big lose consists of many small loses. I think many also may have had the fight taken out of them. Again, they need inspiration to move forward and continue the fight. They need the equivalent of a good general, captian, major, even a good sargent and a good squad leader. We have some but not enough are hearing them. They need someone to teach them how to be men and women again...to stir them to want to be strong adults and do what good parents used to do...weve got some but not eough of them. And youre right, many are so busy trying to provide and pay bills, food, ect, that they havent much time for anything else and some are just plain lazy and only care about their own needs. Fighting back to keep what we still have and to regain whats been lost aint easy but anything worth while never has been easy. The one thing we need most is God and thats who many have turn away from, never had or are but nominal believers. When the poeples of a nation turns away from God, that nation will be in ruins in due coarse of time. And guess what...that is exactly what's happening now. Only the citizenry can change that and that will lead to change in governments across this land. The change may be slow to come at first but persistance will win the day.

Essentially, even with a democracy with a decentralized government the rot still starts at the head. The decentralization just means it can survive a few bad presidents of bad, corrupt leadership. It does not mean America can survive term after term of bad, corrupt leadership driven by foreign interests (and a culture that puts such leadership in power) decades on end which is the current situation with America today (minus the brief glimmer of hope with Trump’s presidency).
So ultimately, if we want these institutions to be valuable again, we need good leadership in them, but anything short of good leadership at the very top of the country will be an uphill battle at this point.
Same thing using the analogy of the military; if the military you serve is woke, how are you as a non-woke private who is also a boot going to affect the woke culture propagated by the military leadership? It will take decades of you climbing the ranks until you at least get your first star (assuming your woke CO doesn’t discover you are woke and purposely demote or find some excuse to dishonorably discharge you) before you begin to even have a chance at starting have influence in the military culture. And even then, Patton fell out of favor with the political establishment and MacArthur became the political establishment’s favorite general even though Patton was a far better at his job than MacArthur ever was.
At this point, America will need consecutive term after term for decades of good pro-american leadership to undo all that damage.
So if you really want to restore America to what it’s suppose to be, stop basing your voting decisions on “this politician/candidate said mean things, i won’t vote for him” and “this politician/candidate says nice things, i’m voting for him”
If instead of that, people base their voting decisions on “this politician/candidate supported this policy in the past, and is supporting this policy now, and these policies are/are not in line with my values” rather than emotions knee jerk reactions based on whatever some politician says, then America will be on the right track.
