+hogyij bob Yeah he dropped out of high school, but that doesnt make him a dumb person. Plus he went back and got his education and graduated when he was 25.
I love how drake doesn't speak like all the other rappers out there. You can actually understand him and he doesn't sound drunk or high, this is why he is actually respected by his fans and even the people that don't really enjoy his music respect that he is a good person😊
Zoneout98 It's scary how good he is and how much his songs can struck a cord with your feelings plus the way he switches up from rapping to singing it's simply amazing, one of a kind and I'm glad he's got this fame and success because he deserves it.
jude m he brags a whole lot in his songs, but i like his songs anyway. he seems more humble in person which i respect. if he was still bragging it would have been annoying a little. respect to drake
+Esteven Cortez I'm 'retarded' ... Yet you can't even tell the different between you're* and your. And you even spelled retarded* wrong. That's like basic shit man your internet privileges should be revoked.
Recently started enjoying his music and just find him like a really nice guy. He deserves to be where he his today, he worked hard and you can finally see it now :)
This interview made me respect drake so much. I'm a senior in high school and my life has been surprisingly similar to his.. I'm sure it will continue to be :). Much respect Drake is really my boy and is real.
What it is; is that guys like Drake and Kanye seem to adopt a feminine pitch to their voices when speaking with white interviewers. This feminine pitch is then accompanied by a broader vocabulary and exclusion of their slang style of speech. It is obvious that they are speaking more articulately. And this is not what makes them sound gay. it is, however the feminine pitch in which they use to deliver their words. It is obvious to me that when they do this, they are 'scaling back'; as to come across non-threatening; the opposite of what one expects when speaking with a rapper. Also, guys like Drake and Kanye have naturally deep voices. So when they all of a sudden turn into docile sopranos it just doesn't seem right.
VMacTheDon Not true. It's how you present yourself. You can command mad respect, and be educated in the rap game. Jay-Z, Tupac, Nas, Kendrick. Top dawgs in the game, clearly educated, yet hood. Originality.
Ethan Flores Drake expresses the soft side of the game, dealing with bitches, drinking, and partying. Most of it superficial, unlike Jay, who had madd substance.
Champ1988 This is Drake's natural voice. Remember he is half white and grew up with his mother mainly who is white. He adopted slang and a 'thuggish' way of talking only when he started rapping to gain the respect of the rap community, which clearly didn't work. But when he shows the real him it doesn't work either, so its a lose lose situation either way. Macklemore is also considered as gay. But MGK and Yelawolf are not cuz they speak slang and are thuggish. Kanye I can understand what you're saying because he only changed his voice for that Kardashian interview (not sure of any other white interviews where he did), which was weird. But still you shouldn't have to talk like a thug to be respected as a rapper, your content as skills are what should matter. And talking about your life, even if it doesn't involve selling drugs, is as real as it gets
everyone is emotional at one time or another, it's not letting your emotions get out of control to the point where you're losing self respect or respect for other people
SO much respect for drake for so many reasons to name a few: 1. he never forgets his Toronto; never forgets where he came from. 2. He is so decent and well spoken. Carry's himself very well. 3. He is not afraid to be himself. He is amazing!
Classiest Rapper I know, so eloquent and poised. It's not his fault that he was raised better than many other rappers. He was raised by a loving single mom who loved him. His success is based on his upbringing.
I'm a Drake fan, but these comments are hilarious lmao. But the nigga ain't aggressive and you want artists to be "real", but when they do it, you throw shade? Rap fans need to see the hypocrisy in that.
only thing i'm really cosigning is "these comments are hilarious lmao. But the nigga ain't aggressive and you want artists to be "real", but when they do it, you throw shade? Rap fans need to see the hypocrisy in that."
I’ve always been a huge fan of Drake. So wise, humble, and confident in his own skin. His music will always touch my heart. I hope one day I can meet him in person or that he can come over to my house one day. 😊❤️
Its amazing how he's came up now. People always try to set Drake down for trying to be hard or trying to "be about that life". Really, all he does is tell his story or tell about what's going on around him with people. He's one of the few rappers that actually looks around him and keeps himself poised at his craft while staying humble.. even if that's rap. I'm sorry, but listening to all of his stuff.. Favorite rapper of this generation.
he's just so inspirational. he's perfection at its best, ue should never feel like he has to change for anyone. 3 i love you drake, always and forever.
I've never been a Drake hater, nor a Stan, but I did gain a whole new respect and appreciation for what he brings to the table, as far as rap music and hip-hop, after watching this interview
Drake cracked the code that is "modern rap". Clearly it does not take a hood, ghetto, black, fat, skinny, or overly talented person that comes rare. Rap is singing into a microphone, in time, over creative beats (aka computer programming done through a mouse and keyboard). Good job drake.
WashingtonMonster86 "overly talented person that comes rare" yeah the guys only been a top 3 artists for multiple years now. Fuck if its that easy to make many many millions then why dont you do it? better yet give me your holy knowledge that you apparently have so I can make em.
TheAllstar22 I just explained my "knowledge," you sing creatively into a microphone over computer programmed music. dumb ass. I could care less about rapping, i'm white as snow, i'm not marketable.
Carina Hinojos It's his inflection when he talks, he sounds kind of feminine. Nothing wrong with that though but it does make me somewhat uncomfortable.
Plague Doc I can tell you're white. Look at all those blanket statements. You're the perfect example of the suburban, idiotic, and uncultured mass that listens to mainstream music with absolutely no taste in art whatsoever. Keep telling yourself that, Aubrey isn't even top 20 rappers all time alive, dead even not top 30. But I'm sure you think net worth = quality, so yeah he's so great and educated with the best music. Don't reproduce, for our sake.
Plexiglass Lofer Do you like putting words in peoples mouth? I never once ranked Drake and you just assumed I'd have him in my top 20 lol. Also I grew up in the hood, the difference is. I matured and got educated and realised only lowlifes are proud of being uneducated.
What's interesting about this interview is that Drake didn't realize that he admits being outcasted by the students at the Jewish school he attended as a teen due to his Black/Jewish biracial ethnicity. Outcasted & rejected could be the main factor for his emotional sensitivity, loneliness, & self-esteem.
Wow. First of all, I wish that interviewer was like THE interviewer for everything. What great questions and follow up questions. I know that's a weird thing to point out but I've watched so many mindless interviews that are so boring and pointless. This guy nailed it. But also, Drake is pretty cool. Seriously. I know he gets crap for pretty much everything, and I'm not his lawyer here to defend him or start a debate. I'm just saying, I love this guy. I like that he's honest. And sometimes, being honest can get contradictory. When you really let yourself feel, sometimes you feel two totally opposite things. Or at least I do. And it doesn't make sense. But that's just how humans are. I just like listening to his voice. I don't know what it is but he's just really chill to listen to. I'm not like a huge fan of his music in the sense that it doesn't usually relate much to me and some of it is not my style at all. But I like him so much that I listen anyway. It's weird, I know. Also it's really hard not to call him Jimmy sometimes cause I freakin loved Degrassi. Okay. done with my book comment now.
I love Drake ! Hes making music that everyone can relate to . And as far as him contradicting himself, we all do ! When we're trying to explain who we are to someone who doesnt know us . Those who hang with Drake & listen to his music , all of his music , not just the emotional tracks , have a good idea of who he is as a person.
He never has a perfect life & he never lived the thug life either , but he has been sad before , he has been happy before & gone through things just as well as everyone else . Hes HUMAN ! & he makes music that EVERYONE can relate to . Hes nobody but himself , & everyone should respect that
For me Drake is a full package rapper, his music's sensitivity, the innovations he made in the rap music became his own trademark in the industry, that's what separates him from the other rappers in history or at present; every rapper has his own way of delivering his rap and style and one of the reasons why a lot of people like him because of the fact that he has his own style of delivering his rap, and when you're different or unique more and more people would notice your uniqueness specially when it involves massive passion and creativity. The latter plays an important role in all music genres.
it is very impressing he doesnt get that much negative feedback on you tube like other major rappers out there.. well done to drake he the man one to be inspired by
Man... "Not stepping out of his character."... Drake has to know that this means a lot not only to himself, but all of his fans. Drake is such an inspiring guy. I have been wanting to get into the so-called "rap game". And just staying true to himself is really something that should be respected, whether you hate his music, or not. I honestly do respect him and love his music.
" that comes with problems nobody wants " that's why I have sooo much respect for drake. He came into the game as himself. No pretending no faking making up lies about his life or up bringing none of that bs. He always stayed true. More of these so call "thug, hood" rappers need to sit & take notes.
he makes music that makes people feel emotional. i still remember how i cried when he mentioned uknohowdatshitgoes or how he was running through the 6 wit his woes, really deep.
he's the face of our generations rap scene yet he speaks like a university graduate lol, I think his intellect is one factor of many others which makes him better than the typical rapper from the 'hood'
Being too emotional has been Drake's number one Criticism from day one. Specifically from the fans and media. Why wouldn't he want to clear that up when it's brought up in a sit down interview?
Drake always remind me that we all are human rich or poor we have emotions. We all go trough shit. Drake educate real in a world that's fake. One word to describe the Lord of rap Great
This interview was so enlightening. For some reason I felt like it was one of those Oprah breakthrough interviews. Good job to the interviewer, and of course Drake was very candid. My favorite line is "People couldn't understand being jewish and black." I struggle with that misconception everyday. #jewishblackgirl #Drakeisalrightwithme
This is the most realist shit I've heard him say, I don't like Drake as much as I did before (not in a homosexual way) but this interview got me to that state of mind again, he has lots of haters but it comes with success.
Eminem was pretty emotional too, just behind all the crap he was saying to replace the actual words he felt, some people just couldnt understand him. Drake is, so is Kendrick, but theyre emotional in different ways. Look at kendrick being all ganged up on after the control verse for no damn reason, his verse is his verse, sean was in the song and he still said something about him,did he get mad?NO.
everyone has emotions... so of course other artist are going to have that element in their music... but drake is WAY too emotional.... even in this interview he whines about people who says he whines too much... lol
Drake man I even knew the answer to that question shoutout to you and your perfect effort and your life style man great things are going to happened to you man!!!
Drakes tone of voice is so calming.
A Drake alarm clock app should exist lol
BBC Ice Cream you wouldn't wake up

I think he was raised in a well wealthy family. He was taught respect and loving what he has.
(i think)
I think he sounds like a bitch
+Hells Favorite Wraith He sounds like a bitch because he acts and talks like he got some sense unlike most of these dumb rappers? Ok.

+hogyij bob lol
Drake is so humble, and props to the interviewer too. He did a good job.
I love how drake doesn't speak like all the other rappers out there. You can actually understand him and he doesn't sound drunk or high, this is why he is actually respected by his fans and even the people that don't really enjoy his music respect that he is a good person😊

Drake does not sound gay ... He SOUNDS like he has respect unlike most these "hood" rappers
Most of the rappers nowadays don't know what half of the words used in the interview mean...
Most rappers are actually very intelligent and educated.you ppl let the media tell u about ppl that u don't even know from eve, your all Sheep

This interview made me respect drake so much. I'm a senior in high school and my life has been surprisingly similar to his.. I'm sure it will continue to be :). Much respect Drake is really my boy and is real.
Just because he doesn't talk like a "thug" or "gangster" does not mean he is gay.He is a civilized person that has an education.:)
Sadly in the rap community it does. Educated and articulate = gay

Yoooooooooooooo

Mr.BossMan
lmaoo fam that got me like some shit
"There's something to be said for the fact that..."
Haha!
The ending of this was pretty powerful in my opinion
only someone who is lonely and emotional takes the time to explain that they arent lonely and emotional
Being too emotional has been Drake's number one Criticism from day one. Specifically from the fans and media. Why wouldn't he want to clear that up when it's brought up in a sit down interview?
+dilldshs true
+Mike Oxlong lmfao
Well you cant be to happy...thats just being adult...
CHARLAMAGNE IS THAT YOU?
He makes me want to move to Canada and find his long lost twin brother brake.

yo dass fucked up i wanna meet brake one day lmfaoo
Flake
***** Haha you're funny!
Drake is the coolest
Drake doesn't need to talk gangster to be a rapper, that's what makes him different from all the other rappers. He inspires the fuck outta me.
A lot of ppl thought 2pac was soft cuz he rapped about his emotions too in the beginning. Woops didn't mean to make a comparison.
That driving at night thing... Bang on.
This is the most realist shit I've heard him say, I don't like Drake as much as I did before (not in a homosexual way) but this interview got me to that state of mind again, he has lots of haters but it comes with success.
Dude you don't have to clarify that you aren't gay, your statement didn't display that at all.
I'm aware, I just don't want my words to be taken out of context lol
There is nothing like a solid interview. Great stuff.
Eminem was pretty emotional too, just behind all the crap he was saying to replace the actual words he felt, some people just couldnt understand him. Drake is, so is Kendrick, but theyre emotional in different ways. Look at kendrick being all ganged up on after the control verse for no damn reason, his verse is his verse, sean was in the song and he still said something about him,did he get mad?NO.
true.
everyone has emotions... so of course other artist are going to have that element in their music... but drake is WAY too emotional.... even in this interview he whines about people who says he whines too much... lol
thank you for understanding that
Drake man I even knew the answer to that question shoutout to you and your perfect effort and your life style man great things are going to happened to you man!!!
He's a lot smarter than I thought he was.
I love Drake he's my favorite
