Something I didn't consider before is that Sas is already back at the frontlines whereas Salana and Zarin kept saying they wouldn't be able to return in time. I guess that direwolf is pretty fast (either that or the Orcs were stationed halfway to the Dead Mountain and therefore they'd have to go around them).
