Not always having a water source so all I use is a henry hoover with a brush attached to it and it's perfect. Also, when I wash them I have to wait for them to dry before putting them back so I just never wash them. Great video mate
Had to change a compressor and inverter board on a vrv 4 a few weeks ago definitely add an extra hour or so onto the quote it was a real pain to do but like you say there is enough movement in the pipes to allow the heat sink to be moved out of the way if your careful, loving the vids it's nice to see uk based ac servicing
The reason for the small brown spot on the ceiling tile under a condensate drain(when a clear leak is not obvious) is more likely due to sweating from the cheap thin wall white overflow (on hot humid days) could do with a insulating. Wish more people would use the grey pvc type
Never knew about testing the internal pump from the controller 👍🏻 thanks. Changed a fair few vrv 3 compressors and components, yet to change any components on a vrv 4
Bloody Terrible the installation of those isolators and do t get me started on SY! Your right it should be band. As a spark I come across mess like this all the time but no one seems to give a crap. Biggest problem with SY is that it has to be treated like a SWA and In the EAWR it’s required the strands have earth continuity. Just shows that the people installing these cables have no idea really what they are doing. Great video, Iv just come across your channel keep up the good work . 👍🏼
I’ve changed quite a few of the VRV IV compressors, definitely not as easy to get out as the 3 units, but if you remove the sound jackets, it gives you a lot more room. On the boards, I use an adjustable bungee to hold the bracket in place while removing the wires, helps out quite a bit.
You could have made yourself a blanked with all of that fuzz you removed! I am with you on that disconnect; there was no need to penetrate the box on the top. Even if it had been sealed with a washer and/or a rubber boot, eventually those will breakdown and crack which will lead to a leak. They also really packed and pinched the load wires into the bottom of the box against their lower penetration. The installer seems to have a bit to learn. Great video, really interesting to see these VRV/VRF systems, they are kind of rare here in Ohio.
Thank you mate appreciate it 🙌🏼👍🏼 😂 There was definitely enough fluff to make me a blanket, they were all pretty much like that ! Yes, not a very good electrical installation at all sadly 🤦🏻♂️ Hopefully they get it sorted before it causes any damage !
i really wish you had included the title and Artist of that music; something like, “People they come and they go.!” It was definitely “Dope”. And of course you are too. Your HVAC skills are tremendous, that goes without saying.!
Good vid ! Hello from Orange County , California. U guys Have Hacks There too. 😂🤣 Too funny ! Water in a Service Disconnect is Not good. As u suspected. Our electrical is done differently Here. We Run a Water tight conduit and Pull wires through the conduit. That Hanging rubber Cable would not be legal here. It would be like using a piece of So cord outdoors which is strictly forbidden. Like # 31.
OcRefrigeration , Hvac & Electrical Video's. Hey mate 👋🏼 Yes it’s definitely not the best electrical installation 🤦🏻♂️ The black cable is standard practice over here it’s SWA which has a steel armouring around to protect the cable. Normal practice would have been to gland it into the bottom of the isolator (disconnect) though ! The dangling cable was not good though 🤦🏻♂️ It’s interesting to see how different countries do different styles of work. I’ve had a look at a few of your videos mate 👍🏼👍🏼
Great vid- you've just got yourself a subscribe! Really interesting for a person like me aspiring to become an Air conditioning engineer to see what actually happens on the job. Loving the editing also; awesome music vocab!!
Yeah I changed a locked inverter compressor on the 4 it was a bit of of a pain in the ass. Used a rope and hook through fan shroud and shimmied it out the front of unit worked pretty good but yeah still kind of a pain. Biggest pain was recovering 96 lbs of refrigerant.
Great content as always. Learning a lot from you. Never knew you could test the pump from controller. 👍🏼 Would you quote to replace the isolators, stick them on your report or leave em be?
Thanks mate 🙌🏼 Someone else looks after their electrical issues so I just recommend replacing them on the report ASAP before it causes damage to the systems 👍🏼👍🏼
Hey mate you probably know this already. We all use the hydroshot at our place, game changer. I got fed up with the battery on them so definitely recommend the turbo charger. I also found bigger battery alternatives on amazon. JCB are not known for top quality but you can pick up a 4Ah for alot less than the worx range. Great video! I'm a brummie aswell based in Cambridgeshire, good to see brother 🤟
Brendan Murray thanks mate 🙌🏼🙌🏼 A few people have mentioned the JCB batteries ! I was thinking of trying to get a converter too so I can fit my Milwaukee battery on 🤷🏻♂️ Are the turbo chargers a lot quicker than the standard ?? Feels like they take forever to charge with the standard charger 🤦🏻♂️ Can’t hide the Brummie accent 👊🏼👊🏼👍🏼
Yeah its make a big difference with the turbo charger man. Defo recommend it. I've even heard of people making an adapter using a 3D printer to fit out their existing battery's. Love the channel, keep the good stuff coming mate

Quick question mate, noticed you mentioned that you don’t like SY what don’t you like about it ? Also what would you use to wire up your condenser? Loving the vids 👍🏼
Hi mate just a quick question on a original Ahu with just ac can it be changed to a heat pump unit or would the entire Ahu have to be changed thanks love your vids mate
That water leak on the cassette: Have seen quite a few drain pipes from the cassette sweating and dripping on to the ceiling tile. Also, those mini lime pumps always seem to blow the braided hose off! Doesn't seem to seem to matter what clamp you use!!
Hi , just an observation but I noticed the yellow shipping block was still on one of the dol or inv compressors . Was it ever commissioned correctly ? Good content . All the best
Great vid! I'm considering training, and had a few questions - Is it an essential part of the job to be able to work at heights? I've seen some buildings and factories where they are near the roof! Is it dangerous in general? Electric shocks, moving parts, things like that Thanks so much keep up the good work
Nothing should be dangerous if the correct risk assessment is carried out first. There are working at height guidelines and HSE training courses for portable towers etc. Sadly these all come at a cost which will have to be factored in. I was at a MOD site a fews years ago where there is a total ban on any steps. Your van was inspected and not allowed on site should you have any.
Thanks mate, much appreciated 🙌🏼 Which part of the world are you from ? In the UK the normal way would be to find an apprenticeship and enrol at college for an Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Course which would usually be on day release from your job 👍🏼👍🏼
What do you find works best for cleaning the plastic covers on the indoor units? And I keep having very loud HR boxes on units, any experience with that?
Did you put in a price to move the tank pump from the top of cassette to the side of cassette? If the tank pump isn’t wired up to the control wire ,when it fails it will overflow ,freeze the evap and when it thaws it will knacker the fan motor and the evap pcb .

I had two in Milton Keynes that did freeze up because of that very issue 🥶
I have no idea but I suspect both cassettes were maybe a little under gassed and were running too cold.
