    I came across a Diawa Costal 150. I decided to use that on a heavy rod set up and for frogging. I was able to launch a 1 oz TX rig pretty far, still need to get out more with it and find a line that I like. I used some cheapo 65lb from walmart. Hope to put some varivas and also try out some heavy mono to see how it casts.

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing  Год назад +1

      It would be nice to see a smaller reel for that one! Or a mid size spool, but same chassis! Would be fun for the back bays :)

    • @noobpyrotech9991
      @noobpyrotech9991 Год назад +1

      @@rawrfishing it smaller than I expected, similar to a lews speed spool, or a phantom. They do make three coastal sizes 80, 150, 200. I think they are the same as a Tatula. The spool is deep on the coastal. 100 meters of 20lb mono can fit on the 150. I never looked for an after spool for the coastal yet.

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing  Год назад +1

      I don't think there is a slx DC bfs reel just slx bfs. Although I have not tried it, it's the same as the curado bfs reel. Just branded differently for different part of the world. With that said... It's great bass reel out of the box and both the avail and Roro spools are good ones for it if you want to go UL

    I was running the Daiwa elite on my sierra 735c also. Switch to Curado MGL. Bombs cast much easier then Daiwas. Like my Daiwas for close combat fishing.

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing  Год назад

      I feel like bombing is amazing on the Shimano for sure! I think I may just keep this as my frogging. I will skip and toss lighter frogs on my Tatula sv103 for now... Until I get that new Tatula 100... But u know.. Whenever I get a Tatula... It might end up a bfs reel haha

    Sup jimmy, great setup, how do you cast it so far, other than settings, is the rod flex helping? Or all skill lol? I have 3 baitcasters and still backlash lol, brother bought me a curado dc 150 hg, and a cranking stick from bass pro, said can't backlash, guess who backlash 🤣😂, but easier, idk if it's disability? Even so called backlash free? Think have to know more, I am getting better tho👍, took all 4 now baitcasters on brothers boat and had competition, I won but luck, best way to learn, don't bring a spinning combo lol. Was in hospital 2 days(6th and 7th) with severe burns, heat stroke, dehydration... Forgot sunblock and water🤷, almost 6 hours in sun, middle of lake🥵, won't happen again, great video, been wanting, missed ya bro👊, tyvm tc 🎣

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing  Год назад

      Lol, I still be over spooling at times. But for long cast lures, it's quite easier. As mentioned, the Frog King flies due to weight placement and it doesnt catch air like frogs with silicone legs. So the answer is all of the above! Skills is one, but knowledge of using the reel with the right rod, line lure and to configure the tension and brakes to work with your thumb skills :)

    • @rawrfishing
      @rawrfishing  Год назад +2

      I haven't tried that yet on this reel. But I could do that with my KK speed demon elite for casting heavier lures like frogs and bomb it. But for other lures that catches air, it seems that it doesn't work well for that reel. I will give it a shot tho on the slx soon :)

    • @HomesteadOnThePreserve
      @HomesteadOnThePreserve Год назад +3

      That's exactly how I do it too. I set the spool for a tiny hint of play and the only adjustment I ever use is the brakes. Same setup for every baitcast reel I have with a brake system.
