What a coincidence! I too am painting in my home today. Painting can be deceiving. It seems like it takes forever with having to go back to the tray or bucket and back to painting but then also seems to be over so fast like when you finish taping and edging and now all that's left is using the big rollers all over.

The beam paint color looks navy blue to me. You are keeping your body healthy by the movements up and down, bending, using paint roller, etc. You are to be admired for all the work you accomplish.
All that hard work and care will pay off big-time in the future. When others are busy doing repairs or replacements, you will still be enjoying the long-term rewards of your work methods today. You will probably never need to touch those beams again after you are finished.
honestly so much fun to watch anneke in the timelapse, just constantly popping up here there and everywhere. hope she can get along with the newer cats someday lol! and wow what a movement filled painting job, not just the leaning up and down, but having to constantly move to either side of it or reach higher or move the platform or this or that etc

Marina a trick I used when painting ceilings and high up spots was to wear a disposable shower cap, kept your hair clear of what your painting but also protects your head from any rogue drips from paint brush or paint rolling. Good job "so far , so good" as the saying goes. Cheers
Ilya and Marina….@3:47 Are you going to eventually replace this stairway? It doesn’t appear to meet the building code (too steep and rise is too high). You would have to increase the length of the rise by cutting back further into the second floor at the top. Also, it will need a railing system🥰

cows are in fact really social animals, and they have friends within their herds they favorites over others to stand close, to groom each other or just to enjoy being close... so iam not sure, the iron beams will be seen from floor below??? i mean black is my favorite colour, at least someone finds something darker, but with iron beams i would prefer the rusty look, just like golden gate bridge of San Francisco...just to let it look old... well this up and down spares you an expensive subscription at local gym... oh and annecke i would adopt her without any thought...
All that looks fun but do you have a builder supply over there. That must be so expensive buying those little containers of paint. We have home in the states where you can buy gallons. Much more cost-effective and better usage of cans in the environment
Sorry to say this.... painting those steels is a waste of time and money. They won't rust. If the sockets remain dry, nothing will happen for centuries. NO. It isn't "must be done" Save your resources.... and Annika is a champion...

My Dr asked me if I was getting enough exercise. I asked him if going up and down on a ladder painting counted and he said yes!!
