They ignored her so hard she simply vanished from their lives forever. Dad will never walk his daughter down the aisle. They will never know their grandchildren... if OP is even healthy enough to still desire a family. She doesn't mention any interest in dating, and her strongest relationship is with another woman, a college friend.
Parents FORGET to pick up their DAUGHTER, and tell her "dinner is in the fridge"? Screw that. Why not? I'm IGNORED here, so you wouldn't notice I'm gone anyways. Graduation is NOT just "A school thing", it's a MILESTONE and YOU, Mom and Dad, MISSED it! Where was this "Family is everything" when I was being IGNORED., Aunt Caroline? All of the dismissals and gaslighting is proof Sarah's "family" have ingrained misogyny, and she had every right to cut ties with them. If Ethan and Ryan were so wonderful, Sarah doing that shouldn't have ever bothered them. The reason why it did was the fact that they lost control of the narrative that they were a big loving family, and now that being gone threatened their image. The commenters on the social media post who were questioning things were genuine free thinkers, and her posting her story gaining so much traction totally exposed them and the supporters on reddit just validate how right Sarah was. The "cease and desist" order, like Lisa said, was an empty threat and just exposed them more. She got the ultimate revenge, because her story not only exposed them, it getting turned into a book completely destroyed their entire illusion of being "a loving caring family".. especially as the teachers and professors who knew will absolutely have validated her story. Her new loved ones are a much more loving family, and one she deserves!! The fact the parents alone pretty much were forced "to find a new audience for their show" really proves she was now a very strong person after all of that. I hope you are happy and stay that way without them, Sarah.
@@seanmccaskill5042 , there are so many real life families like the one in the story, and three decades of talk shows proved that.. All offense to you, but you are either delusional or you lived most of your life in something like an Amish community and are new to the rest of the world.
These are good stories but, sometimes, they are unrealistic. How many valedictorians, with a near perfect GPA, don't get full ride academic scholarships? Especially for a female?
Ok, it bothers me very much. How many first times does OP felt seen? Cause those two words "first time" just started to rearrange my guts more and more each time I heard it. Just fucking change some details in the AI that generate this shit.
1. Leaving the kid at school multiple times- there would have been phone calls between staff and parents. 2. Graduation is a big deal. Being valedictorian is a super big deal. Even non caring parents would be there to brag about it or take some kind of credit. 3. Book stores show up alot in these stories. Only book store chain that is left is Barnes and Nobles. Even family owned book stores would have a small staff with few or no layers of management. 4. Her best friend seems close to her in distance but isn't the home town far away. 5. The narrow scope of some of these support groups always crack up. 6. Fake! 🙂
@@AzraelThanatos Forgot about that one! Good catch! For this story, it sounded like a family owned/ sole proprietorship. It could have gotten large, but doubtful.

The parents in this story are horrible and should never have been blessed with such an amazing child like Sarah (OP). Once Sarah left for college she should have gone No Contact.
Because the AI goes off the popularity of the story. What garners attention gets put out, often again and again. Sometimes the AI will swap genders of the major characters, but leave their personalities as is, resulting in step-mothers being asked to let "bio-mom" walk their son down the aisle.
Everything was fine when OP was ignored... And when she gives up and distances herself, they come begging
finally an OP that stands on business and doesn’t go back
They ignored her so hard she simply vanished from their lives forever.
Dad will never walk his daughter down the aisle.
They will never know their grandchildren... if OP is even healthy enough to still desire a family. She doesn't mention any interest in dating, and her strongest relationship is with another woman, a college friend.
Technically he can if he gaslight one of the sons fiance to do it it close enough 😂

And everyone clapped...
Ahh yes, the good ol' grey rock affect. Drives the narcissists bat guano crazy everytime.
NTA, your peace matters more than their drama 🙌
When the handwritten letter from her mother arrived in the mail, she should have torn it in half, unopened, and mailed it back.
Or send it back with a 💩 pic...

The "cease and desist" made no sense. It's like the parents were saying, "you're ignoring us. Stop doing that."
@@matttillman7430 , but you would be surprised at how many people really do that.
This is all fiction....

You do realise this is an AI generated work of fiction???
These are good stories but, sometimes, they are unrealistic. How many valedictorians, with a near perfect GPA, don't get full ride academic scholarships? Especially for a female?
That's some child neglect. Even "forgetting" to pick up your own daughter.
Please don’t give them all your money! Please have a. backbone

Half Price Books is still a chain there.
There's also a few variant ones that have different things such as college text books for resale.

"For the first time" x 100
Nothing was misunderstood they ignored her😅
This this a Matilda plot?
It felt like it.
Am so happy u never went back they don't deserve u at all shameless parents how can u make 3 children an only love 2 so unbelievable.
When these people go NC, why don't they ever just get a new phone#, email etc?
Ive always wondered that, but then I realized I wouldn't change mine either. I've had this number forever
Yeah. Let your actual friends and family know the new number and email. And ignore the others.

There's always a Sarah 🦋
More AI garbage. The ample use of "For the first time" gives it away. The AI programs seem to utterly love that phrase.
I don't expect these stories to be real. And just listen for the entertainment factor.
Heard that story before, but this version seems more real.
Love how op has to keep saying her brothers names as if we would forget
Op is spineless, she should confront them ASAP.
Not everyone needs a confrontation... To move on or closer.
@devhxh1558 obviously it's an a requirement with such people. They don't understand in other ways
The parents in this story are horrible and should never have been blessed with such an amazing child like Sarah (OP). Once Sarah left for college she should have gone No Contact.
Too many writing embellishments.
Someone took the original story and just added a bunch of stuff to it.
@ there was no need.
Why are these stories getting longer?
Because the AI goes off the popularity of the story. What garners attention gets put out, often again and again. Sometimes the AI will swap genders of the major characters, but leave their personalities as is, resulting in step-mothers being asked to let "bio-mom" walk their son down the aisle.
Change your number
I think the family was better without her!
Why do you have to spend money on books? Dont universities have libraries?
Just the first minute alone and I can already tell that this story is fake. No one writes their own personal account like it was a novel.
The longer the story the more fake it is. There are some stories that 2-5 minutes long, they always seem more real to me.
@@phillipschwoerke8374 I think someone took this story and just kept adding crap to it. I heard a shorter version of this story last week.
