the most amazing feat of survival in history. the voyage of the james caird and its perils are hard to imagine. Shackelton got them into that mess, he also got them out.

He certainly was a talented photographer. Now that they have found the wreck I would love to see them retrieve the lost glass negatives he had to leave behind. Imagine that... leaving hundreds on the ship because it was too much to move and continue caring for them in their situation.

Unfortunately, he broke all the plates he left behind so that he wasn’t tempted to go back to retrieve them. At least that’s what I remember reading in one of the books about the expedition.

If you look closely the photo shows not the Terra Nova , but endurance .
Well I am unsure . Both boats seem similar to each other in different images
This photo has been used a few times in error on the Scott missions
