I live by low expectations when it comes to surf. Simply put the lower your expectations are the easier it is for you to be surprised by how good it is. The hard part is keeping expectations low when it's firing, and that's usually when I need my expectations lowest because it's very easy to have infrequent waves with a long period and lots of crowds make a day that looks like it's firing end up being kind of annoying

I love these talky ones. I'm all the time out having those same kinds of conversations in my head. Definitely suffer from the early session hype when the waves are super hollow or on the big side of my skill level (8+ ft). Thanks for the fun and relatable videos!

A bad day surfing is better than a good day at work .
Having a great session catching good lines is only part of it for me , clearing my head and the mental time to be alone and think heal in the water is just as important 👍

Oh yeah one more comment, the direct flush of icy water to the groin at the beginning of every session got on my nerves so much that unless I have a brand new suit I end up wearing a thinner suit underneath and all my friends are like you're a weirdo why are you wearing two suits?😜👌💯🌊

Keeping expectations low is advised surfing bournemouth lol , not easy when it's rammed to settle into a session .
Now iam on the boogie I find I have more fun than surfing as not as fussy on wave quality.
Iam happy just to get out there .

Another great video, thank you for your efforts. Your narration is fantastic it's so cool listening to your thoughts whether you're sharing your knowledge of how to spot waves or capitalise on what the conditions offer or keeping your mind in the right place and remembering we're out there for the fun and good vibes the sea offers us. Also love your sharing the ramblings about cereals as hunger and exhaustion start taking hold. Lastly I've only once managed a carve reverse but will never forget my happiness at that moment and will always continue trying to spin again.

Not getting too hyped on the way to the spot incase the surf-report is just teasing you…that feeling
    🎢😒💨____
The ol’ days when you had to call the surf shop to get the report, which comprised of them looking out the window 😂

Bring back the old days. Love that idea of calling in a surf check!
