- There are times where hero mode is required from Justin Herbert, but the Chargers have relied on it far too often in his young career. This offseason the expectations of him are as high as they have ever been, but he seems to be having more fun than ever and it could pay dividends during the season. I agree. I think this all run offense is a smoke screen to some degree. Every team's going to plan on us running. We've been saying it all offseason and we don't have the greatest wide receiver talent. They're not going to be ready for what's coming. After the first game they're going to adjust to each game based upon the opponents strengths and weaknesses
The more Herbert throws, the more the team loses. Good luck with that.
25 to 30 pass attempts are perfect obviously he will ball out and go 40/50 in some games That are needed. But we need to protect the oline as much as herbert

i can only say that hat we have in place is way better than we had last year even without keenan and mike will why because mike will spent more time on the bench than on the field keenan wasn’t far behind as far as the saints i think Derek Carr has nightmares every time he is gonna face joey bosa and kalil mack that makes him make mistakes

Here we go again. Last year it was "Herbert will win MVP" under Brandon Staley. This year it's "Herbert is having so much fun! This is the year!" Nothing beats Chargers offseason content.
We do the best we can to create content when there's no chargers related to talk about. But y'all honestly, can't sit here and tell me that justin herbert isn't in better spirits.
Herbert was not trying to do too much .. he had no protection and receivers were dropping touchdown passes
My concern about run 1st, is whether the wide receivers can keep stacked boxes from happening. If they don't, there will be a lot of 3 and outs.

Harbaugh is not going to publicly promote a guy that is not doing well. He has a good reputation and isn't going to risk it to make fans feel good.

One HUGELY important position of need we have that NOBODY discusses is a capable Backup QB. Easton Stick is not a pro caliber QB. On average every great starting QB misses 2/3 games per season. When that happens, it can't just be a forgone conclusion that you will automatically lose that game because the Backup is lousy. Last season we had plenty of evidence that Stick cannot win a game in this league. They need to go out and sign a Minshew, Flacco level backup for the 2/3 games per season that Herbert might miss.
