He brings it up occasionally. He certainly expressed he didn’t intend to do another 8 years when talking about having done 8 already. I think we’ll know when there’s a sudden rush of “closure” games.
Well he likes it. I think they can play a game that no one is really asking for if they like it enough. Sometimes we get the best content out of games like that because they have such a positive energy from it.
Every time Arin encounters a robot with a shield he tries to hit it 50 times with shadow which does nothing and then rouge which also does nothing and the omega and hits them in the wrong angle and then remembers how to kill them, love that
Sometimes he legitimately can just plow through the shield as Shadow/Sonic though. I think this may be only a thing you can do at level 3, but given he doesn't pay attention to leveling it makes sense that the inconsistency would confuse him.

You know, I've wanted that for a while but I've learned to not want Arin to play my fav games because it might kill my soul to see him struggle to do things understood when I was 12 while also shit on the game lol
It amazes me how the Power character, the character literally meant to take out enemies for you, is always Arin's last guess when trying to figure out why mobs wont die. Also him not paying attention to the character levels. XD
it's especially confusing when earlier he seemed to immediately jump to using Omega to fight shield bots before, like in the rail canyon levels, but for some bizarre reason he just refuses to do it now.
Fun Fact: The Voice Actress for Rouge the Bat is Lani Minella, the same Voice Actress from Nancy Drew: The White Wolf of Icicle Creek ("I fired, and I missed..."). My very observant wife caught that one.
It makes me happy him mentioning the giant snail in the frost islands! All of the maps have one rare endemic life that are special, the snail in the ocean, a phoenix in the volcano, a roc in the desert, a quetzalcoatl in the forest and a kitsune in the ruins! They all spawn at special times and I'm glad he found out about them cause they're cute as hell
In his defense, the game made the tutorials A: optional and B: extremely easy to miss/ignore. For instance, during the fight against team sonic, there was a hint in one of the metal boxes and the only way to get it would be to destroy the wooden box underneath it, which is not a top priority at the time. Optional tutorials can work, but this game is a bit too complicated for that. The leveling system, combined with needing certain moves to defeat certain enemies that must be killed to progress, it's all a bit too complicated to do the ole "eh they will figure it out, just put some optional question mark symbols followed by voice acting that can't be heard over the music and gameplay audio"
@@logangaskill4 oh yeah that’s very true. The game IS terribly designed. But like…Arin has played thru this game multiple times so you’d think *some* stuff would stick in his mind
the best part is when he seems to un-learn things he has done before, like deciding to just not use Omega's punches to fight shield bots for no reason.
Slightly off but you're right that defeating certain Mega Man X stages in a certain order leads to changes. It's Storm Eagle's stage that tends to affect everything else. Beating that one drops his airship down on Mandrill's Power Plant Stage, causing intermittent blackouts throughout the stage (you even see the Airship beginning to plummet when you beat him). That causes the Smelting Plant to lose power (so no machinery is running, thus no molten scrap at the bottom of the stage). And I believe its beating the Octopus' stage that causes Sting Chameleon's stage to flood (leaving a few shallow pools of water in the beginning of the stage and flooding the secret cavern allowing you to get the Heart Tank).
Arin's actually doing a pretty good job of catching himself and finding the solution when he's struggling a lot. So far the last couple episodes, after repeating the same mistake five-ish times in a row, right when I would say to myself, "Arin Ju-" he's ended up realizing and going, "Oh, I could just do this huh?" Honestly proud of him.
it was refreshing hearing them talk about game mechanics and actually working things out of course it's fun hearing Arin rage about different stuff, but it's nice when they actually spend time figuring stuff out once in a while
Something about the skeleton being there and actually being great design as it leads you through the level is also a bit heartbreaking because you can tell that people really did care about this game while making it and it just didn't pan out for any number of reasons. I hope to see a truly great 3D Sonic game one day.
I am SO EXCITED for "Link's Awakening"! I played the original 1993 version on an original Game Boy when I was a young child. I had an attachment to my Game Boy to shine a light on the screen at night, and I would play it for hours in the back seat of my family's car during long road trips and vacations. I fell absolutely in love with it. Such a wistful, bittersweet ending. I fell in love with Marin. I found all of the sea shells. I memorized the Ballad of the Wind Fish and would hum it from time to time. Listening to it being played with all of the instruments was a spectacular feeling near the end.
man, I don’t want the adventures of garbage tosaka to end :(( I can’t believe people didn’t enjoy hatoful, the tacky is what makes it so enjoyable, there’s so much story there to enjoy (not to mention bbl)
I'm hyped to see Dan play Link's Awakening, but GOD I would love to see the Grumps do a full playthrough of at least the numbered Kingdom Hearts games, if not the entire series! Arin's livestreams are awesome but I want to have Dan's childlike wonder mixed with Arin's hate filled rage.
I beat Links Awakening on switch last month and assumed Grumps would never get to it. That game is amazing and I hope Danny plays the remake because it is gorgeous as well!
I love that one moment 2/3 through the video where Dan is talking about meta stuff and comedy timing and he pauses for a second and you just clearly hear "WORTHLESS CONSUMER MODELS" Somewhere around the 21 min mark
I'd like to take a moment here and advocate for Hatoful Boyfriend for those that didn't watch it. In my honest opinion, the amount of insane stuff that happens in that sort of a playthrough blends so perfectly with Arin and Dan's sense of humor to make a delightful experience for both them and the viewers. If that's not your sort of thing, I can understand that, but I think many of the fans of Grumps that didn't watch it would enjoy it if they gave it a chance.
Mobs, short for mobiles
It makes me so sad that they aren't gonna play more hatoful boyfriend :(
**sees Obama in thumbnail**
"I love those two boys, Danny and Arnold"
Donny*
You mean Danny and Armin
@@Wanooknox no no no, Denny and harold
@@Kod4x Their names are Dennis and Archibald
David and A-A-ron
Fun Fact: The Voice Actress for Rouge the Bat is Lani Minella, the same Voice Actress from Nancy Drew: The White Wolf of Icicle Creek ("I fired, and I missed..."). My very observant wife caught that one.
Now it's "Donny and Arnold"... But what happened to Denny? 😂👌
I can tell it's going to somehow escalate into Obama calling then "Darnell and Ernie"
He left with Arthur
It makes me happy him mentioning the giant snail in the frost islands! All of the maps have one rare endemic life that are special, the snail in the ocean, a phoenix in the volcano, a roc in the desert, a quetzalcoatl in the forest and a kitsune in the ruins! They all spawn at special times and I'm glad he found out about them cause they're cute as hell
I think Arin completely forgot that he played Shadow the Hedgehog.
They never finished the game though, that's probably why he forgot it cause of how short the series was.
@@CorvoYN yes they actually did beat the game
@@scizorbullet8185 No they didn't, they beat one route. The true ending requires more.
Arin: “Why was that even there!?!”
Also Arin: *ignores all the question mark hints and mechanics the game has tutorialized for him ages ago*
tutorial? this is game grumps we dont do that here
@@Nightmare_52 lmao fair
@@logangaskill4 bruh he played this game like 3 times he just stupid as fuck
15:15 - Maybe that's the wife of the dude who composed the casino BGM.
The fact they remember trauma center fills me with CRANBERRIES... I mean joy...
For those curious, the video Arin is referencing is Hotto Dogu by Heiakim.
23:14 pretty cool how Dan said "you got it" and then immediately afterwards Rouge says the exact same thing the exact same way
I was wondering if they forgot us today. ☺️💕 Glad we still got our daily Grumps to cure our Backstreet Boys reunion tour depression.
That first bit with the alligator is like a perfect visualization of anxiety
It isn't the fact that Arin makes mistakes, it's that he doesn't seem to learn from them that hurts me so.
the best part is when he seems to un-learn things he has done before, like deciding to just not use Omega's punches to fight shield bots for no reason.
It's especially hard because he acknowledges that He's stubborn and he does actually learn on occasion but then immediately forgets what he learned
We can finally feel good on a Wednesday
Ssssparklin' thoughts.
We still need to see Sonic Adventure 2 Battle completed
Shadow the hedgehog as well
@@klikehollow9214 omg yes daddy, give me that cancer
it was refreshing hearing them talk about game mechanics and actually working things out
of course it's fun hearing Arin rage about different stuff, but it's nice when they actually spend time figuring stuff out once in a while
Man the alligator part was the hardest shit for me as a kid.
I love watching these all in succession forgeting they have time in between episodes, it's like they have amnesia
I thought my daddies forgot about us
11:05 “Yes, there’s quite a few.”
The way Arin delivered that line though.
Arin: (leaps off the stage of his own free will thus killing the characters)
Arin: I’m sorry? What?!
aw i was hoping they would finish hatoful boyfriend... well i liked it.
20:13 - "I'll teach you the ways!"
Something about the skeleton being there and actually being great design as it leads you through the level is also a bit heartbreaking because you can tell that people really did care about this game while making it and it just didn't pan out for any number of reasons. I hope to see a truly great 3D Sonic game one day.
It’s pretty amazing that Arin still hasn’t noticed the level system in this game and how it affects damage for each character.
A is the highest rank in Sonic Heroes.
It's not hard to figure out, but easy to miss. This is because the file menu tracks A ranks, not S ranks
(Big Smoke voice) ALL YOU HAD TO DO, WAS FOLLOW THE DAMN TORCHES, ARIN!
man, I don’t want the adventures of garbage tosaka to end :(( I can’t believe people didn’t enjoy hatoful, the tacky is what makes it so enjoyable, there’s so much story there to enjoy (not to mention bbl)
bbl? bird boy love?
@@CertifiedPsychiatrist Bad Boys Love, the DDLC-style “things jut got real” route.
@@_mycenae Lmao, that's so much better. Thanks.
Whatever you guys decide to start back up again, it's probably going to get fans to go back and watch the older stuff.
I also don't like that Dan is planning their retirement. It makes me SAD.
To be fair, Dan is like 58
@@capncrackfiend he's 42
he's going to get in on that early bird special
I was so off guard when they started talking about Type O, that's amazing!!
If we’re talking tying up loose ends then Arin HAS to finish battle kid
I'm hyped to see Dan play Link's Awakening, but GOD I would love to see the Grumps do a full playthrough of at least the numbered Kingdom Hearts games, if not the entire series! Arin's livestreams are awesome but I want to have Dan's childlike wonder mixed with Arin's hate filled rage.
Man hearing arin talk about being open to playing trauma center again made me really really happy.
Also Dan + Links Awakening is an amazing idea
Hearing that Hatoful Boyfriend didn’t perform well enough to continue breaks my heart, that was such a funny series 😂
Yay! More Danny games in the future! I always enjoy when they change things up a bit!
Episode like this, feel the need to remind Arin and Dan, when talking about unfinished games,
Sonic 06
And Wacky World of Minature Golf
Dan keeps referencing when 'Game Grumps ends' and "needing to tie things up before it ends". I think Game Grumps is ending soon O_O
I beat Links Awakening on switch last month and assumed Grumps would never get to it. That game is amazing and I hope Danny plays the remake because it is gorgeous as well!
I could listen to Arin talk about Mega Man X for hours. 💙
I love that one moment 2/3 through the video where Dan is talking about meta stuff and comedy timing and he pauses for a second and you just clearly hear "WORTHLESS CONSUMER MODELS"
Somewhere around the 21 min mark
I got way to invested in hatoful bf. Like after 2nd episode i was hooked
Thank you for coming to my TED talk, I hope we get more Hatoful Boyfriend... someday :)
