I am listening to this back in my motherland South Korea, listening to any of your music ranging from Homebrew to @Peace really makes me miss my life back in New Zealand. It gives me flashbacks of all the great memories I cherished in Aotearoa. Thank you so much Tom for providing us with your music throughout all these years and I hope that you keep doing so! It’s crazy to think I started listening to you in middle/high school and now I am listening as a 25 year old. By the way I still rock the YGB hoodie and the beanine!
That 2006 bar hit me hard, had way too many people i know from high school take that road. Messed me up for a bit but it's made me realise how much we need to appreciate life too. Everyone battles different demons behind closed doors, and more often than not it's the ones who show the biggest smiles. For all the homies out there it's not weak to speak, if you have good mates they will always help you out with your struggles.
2005 was the year i lost my 1st of 3 mates to the same thing. We were 15, it fucked me up. All I hope is kids coming up these days, especially young men know that its ok to ask the bros for help... I think someone like Tom showing its ok to be vulnerable is an amazing thing for the youth of Aotearoa!
Tom Scott is a bona fide audible nostalgia curator. Such a gc to the highest degree. Ill happily wait another lifetime if it means tunes of this merit trickle out at a snails pace. Good things take time eh? Cheers Mainland Cheese.
The master of the perfect tonguetwisters.. seriously.. just for once try to repeat those last 8ish bars.. after his son was born.. "so now I, watch his eyes watching mine, watching time on rewind.." till the end freaking brilliant MC, top 3 for sure!!
I'm with L.U.S. on this one. Tom is #1 rapper of all time. Dudes got bars for eons, and relevant ones at that. A true master of storytelling and social commentary. He is also lucky to have dope musicians, producers and associates to groove with.
I remember first hearing this group very refreshing as a big fan of jazz R&b and hip hop very cool vibes and lyrics are awesome as well wish this kind of music was more popular instead of rapping about having a bunch of cash and shooting people over beefs in the street this is what hip hop is about telling stories that you can visualize people need to step away from the 808s Kanye said it best that it’s a low vibration music which makes your mind go into a darker vibe. Music is powerful and it’s gotten out of control just for fame and money greed is the motivator
This song is relatable to a lot of people, even though some of the details are different. A lot of these are things I remember going through too. Awesome nostalgia
This guy, what can I say, all his projects, all he has done, what a truly great inspiration. The way you worked on these projects, all my respect. I promise you that I will repay you all the strength you gave me someway. My children will definetely hear from you. Cheers from France.
@@insidaero2530 Really, what you smokin homie LOL. In the eyes of Hip Hop the late 80s/Early 90s can't be touched. Bar a few real artists like Tom Scott, name all your MILLENIAL/ZOOMER greats ROTFL? Heres a few from back in the day, were you even a teenager? EPMD, Tupac, Biggie, P.Enemy, KRS 1, Eric B & Rakhim, NWA, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Mob Deep, NAS, Method Man, A Tribe Called Quest, Ice T, Ice Cube... Nina Simone is great but a lot of people including myself hear a ton of John Coltrane on the album. You should check out Coltrane's album 'Crescent', as well as Alice Coltrane's album 'Ptah The El Daoud' if you wanna hear more jazz like this. Some of the best jazz ever made imo.
#respect from old ass #OGs that appreciate that this shit is #hiphop! Waitangi Day 2019 Brothers and Sistas from OZ.... Good #health #weath and #fortune

Hip hop is not dead, it's being born again.
Of course it isn't dead, hip hop has gotten exponentially better and is probably the best it's ever been.
InsidAero Amen to that.
