Little cultural note for anyone who's curious: The Leader Jersey card is a culinary play on words in French. Polka dots are just called ¨pois¨ (¨peas¨) in French, so the polka dot Jersey awarded to the leader in mountain cycling races is called ¨Maillot à pois¨, litterally, ¨Jersey with peas¨. Green peas with carrots (¨petits pois-carottes¨) are a very common side dish in France. The Jersey card features the ¨maillot petit pois-carottes¨, which could translate to ¨the jersey with green peas and carrots¨.
Great vidéo ! Here in France we have been playing it for a while now. It is such a fantastic game. Our Bruno Cathala is a very good game designer. I am sure he would be chaffed to know you played his game which when it came out was only printed for 500 copies !!! What a success !

Sleeving cards that are made out of plastic blows my mind. Aren't they durable enough already? They can't get ruined by spilled liquids and you can even clean them with soap water. So it seems like an unnecessary expense. Anyway - I love that you guys are also giving attention to smaller games that are just plain fun. Great episode!
I sometimes love the look of a game in spite of a rule that makes my eye twitch, and this is definitely one of them. In my head, it feels like you should score a single card as normal, but for 2 cards it should be lowest number plus 10. Then 3 cards, lowest plus 20 etc. The fact that all attacks between 10 and 20 can’t be achieved, feels a little jarring to my brain 😵💫. This game really feels like a better alternative to Scout, so I just need to try it now. 👍 As always, I love these videos. Thank you ❤
@30:20 Matt played so quickly that Nikki forgot to draw a card for her 1. she could've taken one of Matt's big numbers! or even better, a matching card!
That is how we initially pronounced it but when Matt looked it up we decided on what I recorded. The worst thing about that edit is if you look at my lips I said Velomeeno. That is definitely not the way it should be said ;-) -Lincoln
I loved this! The gameplay is totally different, but the shedding and level of the "take that" aspect remind me of French dominoes or Kalooki (a Jamaican variant of contract rummy), really cool! Excellent finish also! 🎉

I love cycling and I love board games! This one looks so fun! Simple enough to teach other people but not so simple it would get boring quickly.

They must love Velonimo as this is the 3rd video Ive seen recently - not really complaining as it seems a neat President -ish shedding game
