When I was 9 and 10 years old on Fridays dad would take me to The butcher shop. Yes or a small-town actually had a butcher shop. Dad would buy two towns around cheese of Colby cheese Coleslaw bologna pickle loafAnd those huge dill pickles Saturday mornings we would watch space patrol, rocket man Tarzan. Those were great times with my dad just kicking back.
"Invaders from Space" is actually 2 Films from the Japanese short film series "Super Giant" edited together. So yeah, Starmans real name is Super Giant. There were 9 Super Giant films. The 9 Super Giant films were purchased for distribution to U.S. television and edited into 4 films by Walter Manley Enterprises and Medallion Films. The 2 original Japanese films which went into Invaders from Space(The Mysterious Spacemen's Demonic Castleand Earth on the Verge of Destruction) were 48 minutes and 39 minutes in duration. The two films were edited into one 78-minute film, resulting in a total of 9 minutes being cut from the two films during the re-editing. The 4 American films in order are : "Atomic rulers of the world" "Invaders from Space" "Attack from Space" "Evil Brain from Outer Space"
Ken Utsui (1931 - 2014) had a long career lasting 62 years in Japanese films, stage and TV from 1952 until his death. He had a huge output with 60 films while working for production house Shintoho (1954 - 1963) and subsequently a further 52 films for Daiei Film. His TV work was also very considerable and he was a celebrated star in his home country. This 1964 film featuring Utsui in his famous role of Starman was a US edited combination of two earlier Japanese films - Invaders From Space and Earth On The Verge Of Destruction to create a movie 78 minutes long which was 9 minutes less than the two Japanese films. The two Japanese movies were from a series of nine films, usually about one hour in length, starring Utsui as Starman and made between 1957 and 1959 and subsequently sold to a US production house. In his later years Utsui moved into detective movies on both film and TV and he remained working until his death.
It think it was because this was compiled from different chapters of a tv/serial or from three different films as a way to package them for American TV. Not sure, though.
This is awesome l love Japanese style sci-fi space movies and STAR MAN is a super hero ✊✊✊ about the best intergalactic opening scene the Emerald MEN. 😱
21:43-23:31= Sheer Perfection; the choreography against the score is simply breathtaking; a complete show performance by these magnificent dancers with this brilliant orchestra---the congas and the horn section provide a musical fury the dancers are totally rocked by---would have been priceless. Bravo!---Andromeda International Records
"The scientists invented one of the most ingenious mechanisms ever called the Globe Meter. It enabled the wearer to do 3 things. Fly thru space, detect radioactivity and speak and understand every language on earth".
This is where COVID-19 came from! The whole story is a prediction of earths future! Who is our “Starman”? to save our planet? Gotta love the costumes...
and people from outer space live to wear spandex just like the people you see at walmart. it is an invasion. 5 million crossing the texas border as we speak.
Reminds me of an earlier version of Ultra Man also noticed a little reptilian humanoid synchronicity that is found in countless sci-fi and action adventure films throughout the history of film making
I recall seeing this on television on a show called "The World Beyond" WTTG Channel 5 in 1962 I was in the Second Grade this was before President Kennedy was Assassinated.
"Two billion miles away in the Marpet galaxy". Dude, Pluto is farther away than that, and that's in our own solar system! I wonder if Mystery Science Theater 3000 has done a work up on this movie. If not, they would have a field day! I just looked it up and, Nope! They never did this one.
Love how the hole Metting out of all them start people and others just use there hands and turn is way and that way OK guys good Metting guys hahahaha.
When one thinks of how this is a Japanese TV show, put together for these 4 Starman movies, the production values and quality are not all that bad. It looks like it was shot on film, large cast, elaborate sets, plenty of special effects. All pretty expensive for a TV show budget. So sometimes Starman has an antenna sticking out of his butt, so what?
That scene with the laser coming out of his mouth has been stuck in my mind for well over 45 years!
Lame-o comment
@@isiso.speenie5994 Yeah---and. . . ?
Remember watching Starman movies as a little kid in the 70s! Love it!

STARMAN HAS DIED! Ken Utsui (24 October 1931 ~ 14 March 2014) LONG LIVE STARMAN!
Sad to hear that. This flick has first rate concepts and some fun action! I loved it as a child of 11 and I still love it today!
Sorry hear that
Costumes, makeup, props, speccial effects, sound, so entertaining. .. everything I want in a Sci Fi .
These movies were the stuff of nightmares when I was a little kid. But I sure love them now!
This movies were pretty prediction to what they are using now for destruction

My very great pleasure!
Wow! Star Man is my new superhero! What a masterpiece of a movie!
As a child watching starman , the flying effects were so impressive. Still look good today.
Gotta love a good Starman fight scene, so well choreographed lol😂
Koolamon and the Koolamonians ! Would have made a good pop group name back in '65 ! LoL s
Peter Fernandez, the voice of "Speed Racer" doing voice overs in this film!
My giggles could have been heard all the way to the Mophead Galaxy. Thank you Pizza Flix for the great fun.
According to the credits, it took three people to direct this monumental cinematic milestone. The James Camerons of their time. I want more.
It think it was because this was compiled from different chapters of a tv/serial or from three different films as a way to package them for American TV. Not sure, though.
I watched😢 Starman more than 50 YEARS

Long Live Starman!
I want a globemeter!
A map of the Earth with the Pacific as its center and the continents spaced along its perimeter is so-o cool. It is . . . COSMOPOLITAN!
And Nihon Jinron, too! perfect combo!
Loved it. Drop a bit of Purple Owsley to truly enjoy.
Star man is the bomb!!
I loved this movie when I was a kid!!! Starman is the best!!!😊😊😊😊
Besides Peter Fernandez, I also recognize Corrine Orr, Jack Curtis and I believe Ray Owens doing voices as well.
10:22 is Ending of "Drok" from Yuri's Revenge.
Sample is also used in Stupid Invaders.
Yes-an ingenious scientific device; a WRISTWATCH!!!!
Not just a wristwatch, a Globemeter
@@isakjohansson7134 Yes-so it actually does 4 amazing things...
Just noticed, the evil alien woman who was dissolved never blinks. Excellent self-control
my favorite movies,
3.the shining
2.2001 a space Odyssey
1.invaders from space
The Shining is overrated, the ending is kinda crap. Hard to argue with #2 and #1 though
Invasion of the Coronamen.
"The scientists invented one of the most ingenious mechanisms ever called the Globe Meter. It enabled the wearer to do 3 things. Fly thru space, detect radioactivity and speak and understand every language on earth".
It might just be the single greatest piece of expository dialogue in a movie ever.

Great observation!
If its not masterpiece show me masterpiece
Uhm, yea, that means I will have to take my pants off, but ok.

Star man was definitely the coolest dude in the galaxy !!
Nice view of Saturn there on Emerald Planet
Where was the Emerald Planet and Starman when the Coronavirus showed up and the salamander men disguised as Trumpers raided the Capitol in DC ???
Yes-and now we know the virus came from space and not China...
One word... PRICELESS!!!!! 👍👌🤣😅😁🤓
very important to have the backflips in the fight scenes
Now I want to see an extreme fight bust into backflip attacks.
and people from outer space live to wear spandex just like the people you see at walmart. it is an invasion. 5 million crossing the texas border as we speak.
Very important to do a backflip, snap the bad guy's neck and save the day
This is glorious - Wow!
Thank you *sooo* much for uploading this utter gem!
Totally loved this film!!! Thx for uploading!!
Precious memories. Thanks !
This was amazing! That witch lady was genuinely scary! The only thing I didn't like was the high pitched sound effect for Starman's flying. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great Movie . Japanese Superman !
Has anyone ever noticed how many Starman films start with the exact same first 3 minutes scene....😂😂
Can you believe after 60 years Japanese cars would rule America?
That "globemeter" does more than an iPhone. And Lizardman's radioactive breath has affected his appearance imho. Thanks for the fun movie
Simply great 👍 would love to watch this in colour.
I wonder if the Globe meter is made by Timex or Rolex, it looks really expensive 😜😂🤣
Dig those crazy costumes, man!

Their costumes looks like some kind of alien chess set.
