I like how Rian mixed it up having his band mates do the Yeah parts in the chorus. Rain originally San that part also for 4he younger gen who are new fans. I was like 22 when that album came out or 21. I'm 46 lol So like 1997 I believe. Naveed will always be their baby though. Heaviest album and the most hits off that album. Wicked album at 4he time. People ripped on him. Calling him a Billy Corrigan rip off. Nah man he was his own thing.

I was 7 when that album came out. My older brother brought it home one day when I was a little older and It was the reason why I picked up guitar after playing years of piano. It's funny you mention the criticism, because I never heard that... I would, however, always use them as an example of singers who are "studio performers" 'cause their unique voices are what made them, yet it seemed to me it was much better in a controlled environment haha!

his voice has really evolved
Sounds like he got a vocal coach to teach him proper technique so he wouldn't blow his voice out. Unfortunately, he lost some of the rasp and intensity he used to have but it's better for his health (and career longevity) to sing the right way.
@@edpoe1108 I kinda miss that rasp. It just feels like a look a like who’s covering the song.
