  • Hiking New England | Burr Pond Loop - Beautiful Pond Views
    Hello everyone!
We are back with another safe social distancing video. COVID-19 has challenged us to find less popular hiking destination and as a result, we've found some new favorite places. Today we hiked Burr Pond. We are going to show you how we find hikes along with some amazing plants and wildlife.
When searching for hikes, we use a combination of websites and apps. One of our favorites is a well-known website and app called Alltrails. Alltrails is an amazing system, you simply type in your location and a list of trails pop up. You can add filters based on what you are looking for such as the difficulty, views, season, etc. You can also view it in list form or on a map. People also post reviews of the trails with pictures so you can tell if the trail is in good condition or if there are any updates (such as closed due to COVID-19).
Another awesome website is called NewEnglandWaterfalls.com. This website is full of hikes, waterfalls, and natural attractions across New England. The creators of this website also have a book which we highly recommend!
After doing some research we decided to check out Burr Pond, which is a family & dog friendly loop around a pond in Torrington, CT. It ended up being a spectacular hiking spot with not many people on the trail. We saw some amazing wildlife and plants such as wintergreen and partridge berry. There was also so many birds, there was a bald eagle, geese, and lots of different kinds of ducks.
We hoped you enjoyed today's video, we will now post 2x a week so catch our first educational short on Tuesday!
    Thanks as always,
    Hannah and Richard

As we figure out how to do socially distant activity as families, hiking is becoming something much more readily planned. This channel may become much more important and inspiring. Red button hit. Glad to sub & support you.
If you get the chance to safely do it, head to my wife's home state of West Virginia. INSANE natural beauty. Especially check out the New River Gorge.

Thank you so much for your kind comment. I’m glad you find comfort in our videos! We’d love to visit West Virginia soon once it’s safe to go road tripping again. We have a new car tent that we are itching to test out. ❤️

I am wondering how far is the beach from parking area ?

If I remember correctly you can access a beach directly from the parking area and then there are more water access spots throughout the hike.
