I got this lens about 6 months ago, and the results are phenomenal. While I am quite pleased with the lens, my forearms will never forgive me. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and images with us. I particularly enjoyed the squirrel and rabbit toward the end of the video. Very nice work.
I've had my 200-600 Sony for about a year now. I use it for outdoor sports mostly. Football, La Crosse, Baseball, Soccer, etc. It's an excellent fast focusing lens with the Sony A9 and with the tracking feature, it can't be beat! I bought mine slightly used for $1,700.00. It's the best money I've ever spent on a lens and I bought a lot of lenses in my 37 year professional career. I still have some prime f2.8 telephoto lenses for my Canon cameras when I need to shoot indoors under low light. But I love shooting with the Sony 200-600 because it's easier to shoot with this lens and and my 70-200 f2.8 on another body, instead of carrying around a big 600 f 4.0 or 400mm f 2.8. It's the perfect lens for someone like me who can't run up and down the field like I did 20 years ago. ;-)
Hi Carl, I have had to the same set up as you (A7iii + 200-600) for a couple of months and I’m really enjoying it. I found the Clear Image Zoom function the other day and wondered if you’d tried it? It would give you up to the equivalent of a 2x converter.
I've seen some reviewers using it, but I haven't tried that feature yet. Thanks for mentioning it, I'll have to give it a whirl. I have some other things I want to address in another video on this lens, so that would be a good feature for me to explore before I do that. Thanks for the suggestion!
Hello Carl. I recently bought a Sony FE 200-600mm F/5.6-6.3 to use with my Z9. Attached to a Techart Pro TZE02 adapter. Tried the AF and stabilization and they work good. The aperture works also. Tried a Sony 1.4X TC and it didn't work? If I need the reach I can use the dx crop and get 900mm. I think corner to corner it is sharper than the Nikon AF-S 200-500mm F/5.6 lens. Thanks for the video. Have a great day.
Very interesting that you are adapting the Sony 200-600 to the Nikon camera, and the features are working well. The Z9 sounds like a beast of a camera, so I'm sure you are able to get some fantastic results! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hey Chris, I haven't used a strap on this lens yet. But I will try a few and see if I come up with a favorite. I intend to post a follow up video on this lens soon so I'll try to include that in it. I'll also try to circle back here and let you know if I find a good candidate for it. I'm partial to the Peak Design straps, so I'll probably try that first. Thanks for watching and commenting!
the sony a7r4 and the sony 200-600 and in several years that I have been taking photos, a bird in flight has hardly ever focused clearly on me. I sent my entire team to sony Spain on 3 occasions and they told me Everything is ok. Even now I sold the sony 200-600 and bought another new 200-600 and it always fails in bursts. .I think that this camera and this lens are never compatible in burst photos with moving objects and animals. My approximate configuration is: ISO 800 speed 1/1600 or more f10 always because in f6.3 the static or moving photos come out very little sharp I don't know why central focus with tracking which is the last option on the menu. 60mpx extra sharp +5
Just upgraded to the a7iv from the a7ii, and it makes this lens even better. That little bit of extra reach in the crop and the improved video capabilities make this combo a dream for the hybrid wildlife shooter.

Hey Carl
I have this lens and looking for a good heavy duty strap. I have an old OP/TECH camera strap but it's making me nervous! Any recommendations?

@@B-RollBooks Congrats on that one, mate! Enjoy the wildlife with it!
Thanks for the video. I just pick up one off of FB marketplace for half the price of a brand new one. Ready to put it through the paces.
Congrats on scoring one at such a great price! I think you'll really enjoy using it. And thanks for watching and commenting!
Nice video, is this lens good for sony a7siii ??
Absolutely! And thanks for watching and commenting!
is it good enough for a pro?
Even the worst lens can be used by a professional. Amateur, pro and semi pro lens doesn't exist. Any lens is a good lens at good hands
