Think I fished near that swim Ian. A couple of years ago. There was a massive log on the beach. 3 weeks later after rain it had gone. I'll leave the wading to braver folk than me and landed 1 barbel of the 4 hooked. Well done for getting them across the rocky ridges!
Thanks Bob, the river is a living breathing thing and I am sure there will be a few more big logs washed up in this area come winter floods. Tight lines and I hope to see you on the bank!
@@PikerBiker credit where its due mate. This is bordering professional quality filming. Best barbel fishing footage I've ever seen that was reordered by an angler.
Superb film. Loved the edit alot. I havnt fished for the barbel as yet this year. And my little dog has to become bank trained before I get out. Was that that lovely rod I gave you? 😊
Thanks Gaz mate! I love the rod you have me, that baby is saved for very special occasions mate. Looking forward to our next meeting and would love to meet your wee dog
@@PikerBiker be a good idea. Yes I've gotta get mitsy used to the bank. I will be fishing soon. Fancy getting in the river n catching some fish. Be good too catch up
@@garywilliamsandmitsy sounds like a plan mate, can’t beat feeling the river push against your legs as you play a nice fish! Best way to catch them mate.
I was using strong line, 12lb sub line and it was a flood water rod, I use a strong 2.3/4 tc rod, overkill for low levels but it helps to steer the fish away from bedrock easier and also helps to win the battle much quicker and helps the barbel regain strength quickly before the release. Thanks for watching!
Great fishing Thank you for sharing Piker Biker.
