Funny but the first thing they asked me was "Do you speak Spanish?" I replied "Poco" (some) I think that set them back a bit. They kind of knew from that point I wasn't just some hapless tourist
Hahaha. Pretty close. Last time I'd been in the Olimpia for about 2 hours with some friends and in that time I drank two Ballenas. Big beers, Ballena means Whale. Maybe 5 and a half regular beers in two hours. I wasn't drunk and was just walking home. They stopped me right in front of the flower show a few hundred feet from the Olimpia. Today, I made my Cinco de Mayo video, gone to Coppel to pay a bill and stopped at the Oxxo right next door to the Olimpia to buy beer to bring home. I was stone cold sober, never even went in the Olimpia and they stopped me after I'd just crossed the street in front of the flower shop. At first I thought they were joking. I mean what are the odds of being stopped in the same place twice in about ten days?
That's what amazes me. I probably walk ten times as much as an average person in the course of making my videos. I'm always out there walking. Everyone knows me. How they could possibly not know me if they work Centro is mind boggling. Who knows.
@@DwightBurditt do you ever track your walking...like with an app on your phone? I've been amazed at how far I walk everyday in Mexico... usually just wandering with nothing better to do :)
Sounds like they’re looking for an easy pay day.
Both times I only had 50 pesos in my wallet. Hahaha 🤣
They're fishing
Sounds like a shake down.
Both times I've been stopped by the cops (in a couple weeks) I've had 50 pesos in my wallet. They're going to have a hard time getting rich from me.
Gotta be the moustache!!! Cheers Duey!
Maybe they don't recognize me since I shaved the beard
Very perplexing.
I find it strange. Never stopped in two years...then twice in as many weeks?
You might have an evil twin brother that's on their most wanted list! 😅
Hahaha 🤣 That must be it
Dwight, I've never heard of such a thing. Very bizarre! Best wishes
Really weird 😲
They're looking for drugs? Ask them if they have heard of the Sinaloa Cartel, they can help them out for sure....
Weird. Never stopped in ten years then stopped twice in ten days
I tol you amigo…. Your a dangerous looking hombre 🤣🍻👍
That's gotta be it. 😁
They think you are El Chapos dad...😂
I don't think that's it. Hahaha 😂
I meant to say his GRANDFATHER 😅
Hahaha Thanks
maybe they just wanted to show u their head quarter's, cheers, welcome to Mexico
Maybe so
Looking for a shakedown
If they're looking for money 💰 They've got the wrong Gringo
Happy 5 de mayo 🎉
I had a great 5 de Mayo. Thanks 👍
Para la sodas
Jajaja posible
Sending some 😻😻
Gracias
Sending some love ... who knows what's got into the cops
I'm sure I don't know why they'd decide to stop me and search me, all I was doing was walking home after making a video 📸
WTF for sure!
I couldn't believe it when they stopped me again and in the same place
W T F Duey...crazy
I don't know 😐
Cartels own the police.
I have no comment on that.
Perhaps a small donation to the local PBA widows and orphans fund would diminish their shakedowns.
If they're looking for money 💰 They've got the wrong guy.
Dwight, maybe try getting a darker tan might help. Lol

Weren't you coming from the Olimpia both times that you were stopped?

That is my question....I wonder if there is something going on in that area. Really seems like they are watching that area. Just my two cents.

I used to for a while. I had a Fitbit watch but broke it in a vertigo related fall. Still have some scars from that one. Now I just walk.
