This made me cry. I was so afraid of God growing up within the UPC. The gospel was distorted so badly I couldn’t find Christ for the majority of my life. Then one day I heard and studied out that salvation was through Christ alone through faith alone by grace alone, and that God really did love me! 🙏✝️🩵
I remember being told if we were watching TV when the rapture took place we wouldn’t get one inch off the ground. Never knew if I was prayed thru enuf, repented enuf. Never felt like I was doing enuf. Now going to a “grace” church and have been reading thru the epistles over and over again realizing we are made right with God only thru Christ. Gaining more peace and trusting I’m Gods daughter, He loves me.
I go to an apostolic oneness church (UPC) and I have a seven inch beard. Twenty five percent of the men in our local assembly have some sort of facial hair. Our pastor has no problem with it. Our assembly is not that hard lined. Our pastor is not a clothes line minister. He believes in leading by example and not banging everybody over the head about holiness standards.
