Merry Christmas, and drive safe!
Don't drive like a Wildebeest cause they don't have driver's licenses as my grandma always used to say.
When you have a tight spot, you always first deeg in with the nose and exit then the car so that the car is already 40% inside the parking and then just reverse. M xmas.
Great videos! I have an idea for a project challenge: A walking AT-AT from Star Wars. :P
lmao nice
Salut.
Bonne continuation et merci
There's also the infamous 5th wheel one. Somewhere in the 1900's someone made a car where the spare wheel on the rear was also used to park. It was connected to the "prop shaft" via a gear which was activated by lowering (and therefore raising the whole rear of the car off the ground) and meshing the gears. It then gave the ability to rotate the whole car into the spot after it was driven into it with just the nose.
Ludicrous, but amusing.
But honestly... why not? Why was this undone?
@@EnjoyCocaColaLight it wasn’t viewed as necessary because parking in cities wasn’t too hard at the time
@@EnjoyCocaColaLight The mechanism took up too much practical space in the car.
@@Glosome Boooo! Go away with your logic I want this feature >:(
It was Ford i think
I think my favourite aspect of these videos is that there's a certain point while I'm watching where I think "right, this is as far as this idea can go, great show" and then I look at the video length to see that it's not even halfway done, and the mechanisms continue to get more complex and frankly ridiculous. Top shelf stuff. Keep it up!
Lol! That’s such a good way of explaining these videos
True
I like the shrinking chasis one and the idea that you have to sacrifice your passengers lives to be able to find a parking spot
lmao0
We don't need passengers where we're going.

The 90 degree steering was crazy enough but the expanding chassis modification looks like something out of transformers lol
Awesome builds :)
It actually exist in reality too,i remember a black luxury van with that expanding chassis
@Gibbon
That's the best part though?
@Gibbon seats will be up front and far back
@@arvinddhiman8706 they are campers. That can expand for more interior space
@@peger IIRC they expand only sideways.
At least I don't know of a camper that extends lengthwise?!

3:16: "Well, you got the car into a spot with zero clearance. That's it, there's nowhere to go from here. Surely you cannot fit a car into a spot smaller than the car, that's not how geometry works!"
3:55: "Oh."
The beauty of machinery is fully expressed by this Lego car.
0:23 is it just me or did they just made a nice beat.
Finding a good parking spot for lego cars is almost impossible these days, so this is most helpful 👍
this guy parks better than me
I built a car like this in Besiege once, except for the extending midsection I'll have to try that out now, but seeing it made out of Lego is SO COOL!
0:58 This drive system is really cool, I have never seen anything like that!
Its because its not very effective, it would slip a lot and lets not get started about suspension
The closest real world comparison would be portal axles.
@@Hlidskjalfff portal axles don't offer fwd they upper the clearance of the car
@@HillelSe They allow the drive line to be higher up to allow more clearance, which the lego car utilizes to get a higher steering angle.
Love how this goes from parking a Honda Civic, to powering a crab walking death machine car that can almost transform just to park.
Your concepts are so cool, the design and mechanism are really impressive. The beauty of machinery is fully expressed by this Lego car..
Good job on the crab walk. It’s pretty cool how we can do that in lego
This is super nice
Nice video. For the wheels turning all around - you can pass drive input through a small turntable. I did a model like this long time ago. Btw with motors and rubber bands you're not guaranteed repeatability when it comes to the direction in which your're moving.
Also to make model more elegant, drivetrain can go through the turntable. I know hard to do in such scale, but hey, all is possible ;)
Gotta admit, I laughed when I saw the variable length chassis, great work !
Not sure if I want to sit inside a car like that...
Either me or my groceries will suffer from "compression" 😉
imagine being a rear passenger and seeing the driver going for a half car space, tryna call your loved ones quickly...
I miss playing with Technic Legos. The sets from the 80s and 90s were incredibly fun.
I was honestly hoping to see you break out some Mecanum wheels for the sideways slide instead, ahaha
Those things are always so cool to me, you should give it a try some time :)
Trying to program it to drive in a perfect circle was my first challenge for fun.
Thanks for sharing still though, awesome builds and ingenious solutions to some simple looking problems :)
The full embodiment of "too much time on my hands".... But very impressive engineering talent....
It might just be legos but still really impressive. I really enjoy the 90 degree drive. As of right now my First Robotics Competition team is working on a swerve drive robot. Your lego build just inspire me to continue to work and problem solve.
just was thinking about it!!!! my team is sticking with other forms of holonomic drive (keep an eye out for #2097 and you'll see what I mean) but once we get enough man-power, we plan on making swerve in house too :)
Hey there, be ready for syncro drive from ours 😏
3:07 wow that's amazing. Then realized there's another min plus of video, thinking how crazy can this get. Yup it got crazier, mind blown.
i never knew fwd had better ability to parallel park than rwd. that is cool
WOW. Would be awesome to see all your Independent vehicle technologie topics combined into one.
A 6x6 Truck with manual transmission, low range, clutch and diffs, pulling a steered trailer through rough terrain, showing the benifits of its nifty suspension....😍
that was awesome. i have a special request though. i always dreamed of being a drifter but it's too expensive irl. that's why i was wondering if you could make a tutorial on making a drift lego car. an interesting project for car architects like you as well, cause it involves rethinking the entire car. tires, camber, suspension etc.
The last one is actually an interesting concept design for some factory bot
You are a genius in Mechanics. I feel that even if I studied Mechanical Engineering, it would take me years to come up with the solutions and mechanisms you build.
You don’t need to be engineer to do that stuff with legos lmao
Evolution from a sports compact to a smart car to a forklift. Or in Biological terms:
From an Ape to a Human to a Crab.
We all turn into Crabs someday.
I never considered the mechanics of parallel parking until this video, thanks.
3:39 what driving instructors expect you to do when they tell you to parallel park
Great Demonstration. And the complexity drives crazy and make state of the art vehicles that expansive...
All wheel steering: Mario Kart
90 degree steering: autonomous drones
Extending chassis: looney toons.
Finally. A car that can be parked in my city.
I gotta say, I'm truly impressed by the work you do. Thank you for your incredible patience, drive, and creativity with your work and videos.Keep it!
One of Murphy's Law comes to mind.
If you tinker or mess with something long enough, it will break or malfunction.
Definitely amazed with the problem solving techniques
"Honey could you get out of the car? I need to activate the Chassis Shrinkage Piston in order to fit between this Audi and Merc. Oh and get the bags out the boot"
"2 or 3?"
"3 dear. Thanks!"
*shrinks car*
Your concepts are so cool, the design and mechanism are really impressive
i love the way u used the rubber bands for drive, that was genius.
Love the ingenuity! Great designs man
This guy is incredible ! I wished I´d have at least 1% of his technical ingenuity !
I love these types of videos! I have played hours and hours of farming simulator and mostly all the games feature crab steering, rear steering, etc.
This is a great representation of these types of steering.
Impressive pulley use for drive! actually all of it impressed but that was particularly good the way it also converted the angle by stretching a little. Excellent model skills my friend! 👍🍺🇬🇧
Seen concepts with these ideas "back in the day" in magazines. There was one concept that that would fold up oven smaller. When the driver got out it would tilt the passenger compartment so the wheels could come even closer together. Kind of like your last vehicle.
Imagine if cars could actually do this lol! Parallel parking would be easy as cake!
the people of France need this
You have just solved the worlds urban parking problem. Contracting cars!
Do I really need a backseat when there's no one in it?
I enjoyed how this got progressively more over engineered to become increasingly more rediculous
That fwd setup is genuinely genius.
I like how he shows us the fails when he thinks something will work but doesn't, it's a great aspect of his videos
Having a seperate motor per wheel to do 90° steering is cool but it would be even cooler if there was a transmission from a central engine to the wheels.
If you want a really easy way to achieve easy parallel parking, use a tricycle with front streering. I use an electric jigger at work and I can park in a space that's basically as wide as the jigger itself with surprising ease.
You know I never thought you could make Lego this British but you did it and I’m half amazed and half terrified
How far sideways is a vehicle allowed to drive before it's no longer considered "parallel" parking?
IDK but now it's sideways parking
Truly fascinating! Thanks👍
Parking space: *becomes smaller than car*
Brick Technology: hold on, lemme just squeeze my car
Loved it, was hoping to see the ball wheel system though, similar to the independent motors one
this is educational in two aspects, engineering and parallel parking
This makes me realize we need cars that park sidways
Something people probably don't realize when parallel parking is, the vehicle pivots closer to the rear axle not the center. It also behaves a lot different in reverse than forward.
Once you know this it becomes so much easier to maneuver and park
That 90° one was NICE.
Interesting front wheel drive. Never thought of that before.
Aww man, we need to park before we miss the show! But there's only room for a smart car!
Well, little timmy, say goodbye to your legs.
dude is actually just creating future technology with legos
honestly i think the rubber band awd was very smart, i couldnt have thought of that so good job!
You're always so creative with your ideas. I'm always excited to see what you come up with next
You are the most incredible lego builder ive seen, you never fail to astound me
You have built one of the fastest growing Lego channels I HAVE EVER SEEN! Wow you are so smart.
What are you taking, Smart pills?
Loved seeing the use of a swerve drive as the 90° steering as a member of an international FRC team I rarely see swerve drives built correctly my only criticism is that the wires severely restrict movement we during last years world championship almost every team uses gears to allow power in any orientation
Can you try using some punctuation, please? I struggled to read this.
Please vacate the passenger compartment before activating the "Crusher" function 🤣- Seriously though some ingenious solutions there
that pulley fwd system is awesome
I love the crab walk. The best is watching fire dept. Tiller trucks crab walk.
that front wheel drive is genius
“A local man was found crushed to death in his car this morning. Authorities say he commanded his car to automatically parallel park in a space that was too small for it, so it contracted its chassi to fit-with him inside.”
It always amazes me how many rare parts he has
parking supremacy! I wish i could see a normal vehicle with systems like this =)
That CV joint design for FWD is really cool
Car companies should learn from this guy 🔥🔥🔥🗣️🗣️
now we know, @Brick Technology can drive🤯
The last modifications remind me of a Donald Duck comic in which he had to come up with solutions to park in the city centers and he had wild ideas like folding cars to shorten the wheelbase
Wow..
Lego swerve drive, that's crazy! 😧
Finally, a Paris-proof vehicle
Very interesting FWD set up
Bruh he’s controlling the deep sea sub with that 😂
1.) this video was just long enough to get me through an annoying game update
2.) people have NO idea the planning and testing that goes into a video Like this
3.) thank you
Cars can park in parallel now? Fascinating.
Brilliant. Thanks.
The motor industry should adopt all the ideas except the last one where you would crush all the passengers 😃
This madman
I love extending my car when not parked to assert dominance.
3:08, Nice T-180
At one point I was thinking “That is not physically possible” and then he brought out a extendable chassis😮😮😮
Amazing job as always!
tolles video! Dankeschön!
The true parallel parking reminds me of Amy in Futurama who failed it miserably
Red Green had the right idea, just strap some roller wheels to the bottom and jack the car up!
now thats a smart car
