In high school 1966 , the Triumph dealership was a mile from my house. I used to go yhere looking at the TR 3 and really really wanting one . Haf to wait till I did my uncle Sam thing. In 1970 I bought a brand new 1970 Spitfire. I've owned three of them over the years. Never got that TR3 but I still likevlooking at them. Have fun bring it back up.

I haven't put it up in the air yet but I am guessing the frame is not good. I suppose I should use this car for parts only as except for things I mentioned, it is not in very good condition. Really happy to get it anyway.
Jerry I bet I only detected 3-4 times in the entire month of July. I got sick twice with two different infections, and then we got into some very hot weather. I'm going to give it a go tomorrow evening, hopefully I will have some luck.

Based on the commission number and from what I can see in the video, this looks to be a 1959. Definitely not a 60 based on the body tub and the sloping rear floor, hinges have no pedestals and the trunk seal channel etc etc.
I agree with you. Just couldn't figure out why. These are road or road race cars and the last thing you want on a road course is a posi unit. Thank for stopping in and leaving a comment!
@@indyme2 Actually just the opposite. A limited-slip differential minimizes tire spin on the unloaded inside tire in corners and transfers the torque to the more loaded outside tire. It allows you to use more power exiting a corner. An open differential will spin the inside tire coming out of a corner if you apply too much power.

I have binge watched your TR3 videos and it seems you took a different approach on each. Do I leave the body on frame, fix all I can then remove it to tackle frame repairs or take the body off and work it that way? Any and all suggestions on this project are welcome. Getting old and don't want to spend 6 or 7 years restoring one.
@@indyme2 here’s what I like to do…with age comes wisdom 😉. Leave the frame as it is. Do all your body work/metals repairs/floors/sills etc while it’s still on the ratty frame. Once your body is ready, all your gaps are good etc…then remove it from the frame and put it on a buck or body dolly to keep it safe…heck, you could even get it painted at this point. Then I move on to the frame and refinish the frame and all the chassis components…engine, exhaust, hydraulics etc. Once all that is done, I then marry the body and frame back together. Trust me, if you do the opposite, your frame and all the other components that you made neat and tidy will look like crap once you do all your work on top of the frame ( no matter how you try and protect it). That’s my 2 cents Canadian ( 1 cent American) 😉
@@indyme2 as an aside, on my 59 project, I’ll be doing all the body work on the frame that I previously restored….i will be taking everything off the frame again to restore is once the body work is done…so, I’ll have a bit of a do over on the 59.

Looks like a great parts car! They make patch panels for the bottoms of the front fenders. Going to be great!

Oh, I think that transmission might be for an Alfa Romeo Spider. They have a rubber Guibo on the output shaft so that’s what I’m thinking.

Gearbox appears to be a 1970's Fiat 124 5 Speed Gearbox
