fantastic review vid, way better than most of the review vids on this. I think you literally covered like 10 things no other video even mentions. Thanks!!!!!
Super helpful video, thanks! Maybe someone already mentioned, little hard to see your display with the light coming in the back of your van, yet otherwise great!!
Yeah, sorry about dim display! I just didn't have time to redo the video at the time. But thank you so much for watching and the constructive feedback! I appreciate the honesty and taking time to comment. Have a great day! 👍
Thought I might store this under the sink area and dedicate a AC plug directly to the generator for appliances and use the 12 volt to charge on the road....
My van doesn't have a generator, but you could definitely use it as a dedicated AC power supply and keep the 12 volt charger plugged up as the alternator will charge it as you drive around. Thanks for the comment!
Correct, I only use the port on the front. I’ve never used the back port for solar and I don’t know anyone who has. Thanks for watching and commenting! Have a great evening! 😀
The Yeti 500x I use has a faulty USB design connection. I have a 1000 and 500. Love the products. However, the second port from the left USB (not the c-port) has a design issue where some USB adapters will have a loose fit causing it to not work. It works but you have to keep pressure on it upwards to make the connection. This issue was found right out of the box. I hope Goal Zero fixed it.
Thanks Tim for the comment. I haven't noticed that on mine yet so maybe I have one of the fixed models. But overall, for a light weight portable station this thing is awesome. I can't believe how much power you get from such a compact device. Take care, Jason!
Hey did you happen to notice with your 500x that charging with USB-C only show’s a phantom output of 2w? i.e. INPUT 55w OUTPUT 2w? That’s with no other loads connected.
I haven’t noticed that yet.....I usually just charge it with my solar panels. That would be weird if that occurs with all 500x’s. I’ll take a look the next time I charge it in that manner. Thanks, Jason!
If you know how to spice it properly, than it should work. However, I think an easier solution would be to see if you can find an adaptor by goal zero that plugs right in. Let me know what you decide to do and how it worked out for you. I appreciate you watching!
Yeti 500x is made with extremely cheap components. The battery drain relatively fast when not in use. I cannot believe they cost 5-700 dollars. If you leave it in storage and it drain down to 0, it will not take a charge and will brick. Mine bricked and I went with a Jackery, sat in storage for 7 months and it still had 95%+ of its charge. Yeti made good coolers for about a year, now they just overcharge people for pieces of shit.
Thanks for your comment. We just got back from a two week trip where we did not have any electric hookups and the Goal Zero worked great! we bought an extender so it charged while we were driving. Glad the jackery is working out for you.

I just got mine today. I am using it for my eBay business in my storage unit. :-)
Amesome, I’m still using mine on a daily basis with no issues so far. Thanks for the comment!

Nice. Another must have when my Solis makes it's arrival. Question, did your side window covering come with the van?. Thanks for the video!
Hi Martin, thanks for the comment! Yes, all black out shades come standard with the Soils. Take care, Jason!
Can I solar charge and power a device simultaneously
yes
Can you use extension cords ?
yes, as long as you do not exceed the load
Hi 💥you can only charge solar panels in front socket right not the power cord port in the back right cuz it fit’s…. Both ports …🦋Thanks🐬🐬🐬

@@BhaiJaan-zp5tj Pretty sure that wouldn’t be a problem! Have a good one.
Can I use a 100 watt harbor freight solar panel…if I change out the connector (plug)? Great video love both my 200x and my new 500 watt station 👏👏👏👍

Wait. Yeti coolers and a Yeti solar generator from Goal Zero are not the same company.
@@stinkykd1 lol sad company cant even come up with an original name. More reasons not to use them
