Theres very few games ive been more emotionally invested in than black flag. I dont even think revelations holds a candle to black flag in terms of emotional investment. And revelations is my favourite game/second favourite story in the series.
This game could’ve been so much better and successful if the online was real online like roaming the seas and islands and not that weird whatever it is, such a mistake really could’ve been a top 5 all time

As great a game Black Flag was, it’s the one where I checked out of Assassins Creed. I enjoyed it a lot but it wasn’t AC, it was the beginning of the trend of the series where they just use the brand name to go to different time periods. Egypt and Vikings are cool, but those games wouldn’t have done as well had they not snuck in some AC references and smeared the name on. But the series stopped at 3 for me.
Altho i am late, i personally believe the series stopped after unity. Ubisoft was testing new waters(pun intended) at the time and it got us this wonderful game. Unity is byfar one of the best ac games i have played and it will be staying that way until ubisoft starts trying to put out good ac games
