    The Risen 915 SV is certainly an incredibly fast aircraft considering the engine used. However, it wouldn't qualify as an LSA aircraft in the USA due to it's performance, retractable landing gear, hydraulically variable pitch propeller, etc... Once again the US is denied such wonderful pleasure toys.

    I saw the Risen at Aero 24. It is a lovely aircraft and is very comfortable inside. The big issue that I had is that getting in and out is not easy (you have to shimmy in under the canopy) and definaterly one for the slim and limber. Price is on a par with other retractable, performance, 600kg aircraft, however, is is a lot cheaper than the Blackshape Prime! Putting money where you mouth is, I decided to go for the Shark and I'm expecting it to be delivered April 2025 (8 months from now), however, I could get it at the end of 2024 but I'd rather have it in the spring than the winter.

      @@alexvbyev Blackshape - cost, its quite a bit more expensive. Also, the crew on the stand were certainly not particularly approachable (maybe not the most important characteristic BUT not a great way to sell a 350k aircraft!).
      Terragon - its quite large and the step up to get into it is high - so external ergonomics. I can't comment about the interior.
      One VERY nice aircraft is the Swedish Blackwing. V ery nicely put together and well thought ergonomics. The foot step for access is in the flap so when the flap is down theres a nice foot rest which helps you get in and stops a clumsy passenger standing on the wrong bit! Unfortunately I dopn't berlieve that there is a UK dealer so no ability to see whether my wife and kids like it.
      My wife didb't like the DA-40 as it was difficult to get into, didn't like the center stick and found it a little cramped. The Shark is actually a decent size inside. Not roomy but space where you need it.

      @@thefxautopilot I live in Czech Republic, sorry about my english. With tandem if you go with other person, you have less contact with your passenger- (if your passenger is a child, than it is even much worse because a child may need some help, but you can not reach so far behind you, and also you have no acces to your trunk during the flight to get some food or whatever.. When you fly alone a long distance flight, than it is even much better to have empty seat right next to you- you can put there many things without moving center of gravity and those things you would never reach from behind in tandem aircraft. Generally all ultralight or LSA arcrafts are easy to get off balance by putting too much weight behing center of gravity point.... This problem is certainly much bigger with tandem seater, because your trunk is placed at longer distance from center of gravity...

      @@thefxautopilot Thank you for your words. I fly with small aircrafts since I was 15. If I would decide to get tandem, than Shark is proven to be very good, but I like a bit more the Stream from Tl. utralight. Hovever Shark might have a better landing gear which is some advantage for grass landings(it looks more durable). From other aircrafts I like Dynamic made in Slovakia, which also have very durable landing gear even if you get the retractable.(They make very similar 4 seater and they call it Avantic if I recall that correctly). VL3 from Czechia is of course also very good. I was flying with Fascination which is no longer made, but it is also fast and it has much bigger trunk compare to any of those aircrafts mentioned above. However the retractable landing gear on this aircraft is not very good when used for grass airfields. I love Risen, but I can not afford it. If you want something less expensive, than you can have a look at Faeta from Atec UL made in Czechia. I used to fly with their Zephyr which was the predecessor of their Faeta. . For the cost, it should be powered by the 914T, pockets (and spare cylinder) for your personal O2 system and have a 3 to 5 (MT) bladed propeller.. and I totally agree with the BSR.... The 2 bladed propeller was chosen for that high glide ratio, that is just going to get you into trouble anyway.

    • @mirekslechta7161
      @mirekslechta7161 Месяц назад +2

      Two blade propeller was chosen for speed, because two blades are a bit more efficient. High glade ratio will never get you in trouble, because with flaps down, there is very normal(much lower) glide ratio, however here in Europe, for instance in Czechia , we have small airfield almost every 50km...so in case of high glide ratio you have bigger chance to get to an airfield in case of engine failure. Just my opinion. I agree, price could be lower :) Much lower, so I could afford it :)

      A 3-blade propeller at most, 5 would be ridiculous, think of propeller drag which the engine must overcome and weight on the nose. 3-blade propellers have a smoother running too compared to a 2-blade propeller. The efficiency loss (very small) is negligible compared to the advantage of smoother running (less vibrations).

      Remember that this was designed under the European 600kg microlight rules. As I understand it there are no European microlights which are approved for flight into IMC so I doubt that many (in Europe at least) will be flying over FL100 anyway. So why go for oxygen? Weight is critical to provide a decent range with 2 people. Typically for a 600kg retract you will have about 250kg usable load

    • @tsclly2377

      @@daveone191 O.K. to see my perspective, I was a Beechcreaft V35TC owner for quite some time (sold to pay for a divorce). It had a big oxygen tank that was a pain in the ass and I deducted that portable was a better option as it gave you a reasonable back-up (yes the valve on that tank had to be serviced). Three blades are better than 2 over 2500m MSL in cruise and usually better in climb, but a detriment in cost and glide... With 14k'MSL (4500m) peaks in Colorado one should be clearing them by 750m on a windy day thus putting you a half hour to 45 minutes in the face mask level on the Denver area to Salt Lake City flights.. also in the USA VFR can be done over clouds (not in Canada) and two seaters are always good for training IFR. Now, go look up the training requirements for the motor-gliders in the USA.. then you'll understand a bit better.
