    Man I have nothing but respect for your work ethic, even in the rain you don't stop.
    Get yourself an awning at harbor freight and some foam exercise pads, your knees won't hurt at night.

    Btw I replaced my rear control arm, it was such a pain. I didn't have any issues with the spring, it safely decompressed once the shock was unbolted and Jack lowered the arm.

    Great to see another 280e, I’ve got one in England and I’ve only ever seen one other on reddit. I doubt that tailpipe is factory because mine has two pipes and the muffler is completely horizontal

    My question is the way the axle was It is a miracle that it didn*t end up breaking, I remember seeing a W116 that had the same problem,but it was far worse instead of being like pushed in it looked like it was about to collapse.

    Yeah come to mind something like you said before but this time would be something like : whoever could repair it, but only men 'd repair it in hostile weather! Jajaj

    Vito my rear trailing arm is ready to go through because of rust where the spring seats on I need a used one with good bearings any ideas or where to look or where to get one used of course thank you Vito if you can reply

    • @VITOSGARAGE
      @VITOSGARAGE  4 года назад

      Ebay, junk yard, online, craigslist, Mercedes dealership. I recommend changing wheel bearings at the same time and doing the rust prevention like in this video as well as changing the bushings on that trailing arm

    Hi Vito any spring compressor reccomendations?

    • @VITOSGARAGE
      @VITOSGARAGE  3 года назад

      Hi sir. You have to use a Mercedes spring compressor like the one in the video. You can buy those online or EBay. They sell the ones like that for $70-$100

    Vito, what brand are the new axles? Need some for my W126

    • @VITOSGARAGE
      @VITOSGARAGE  3 года назад

      I honestly don’t remember but it was something that the owner bought himself and brought it to me. I recommend rebuilding your own axles! Rebuilding your old German axles is 100 times better than using new Chinese crap..

    What I notice, is that the car has three times the same, and there is a chroe one,like an aftermarket one, I thought that the car,had to have the same identicalrims,either steel or alloys

    Where do you get the rubber piece between the jack stand and the car?

    • @VITOSGARAGE
      @VITOSGARAGE  4 года назад

      I got them back when I was working for a shop. They're amazing things! I always use them to jack up a car with and I use them with jack stands!! They prevent bending and rupturing the metal on the car!! I found a link for you: www.carliftparts.com/product/rotary-lift-3-rubber-stack-blocks-auto-lift-rolling-jack-fj2428-set-4/?gclid=Cj0KCQjw6ar4BRDnARIsAITGzlAXV9pbjyibF0OOvh-ifyhOKR5UdlbP-8yn93lsitpSUglPJGtmQqoaAtqWEALw_wcB

      W126 axles won’t fit a W123. W126 axles are bigger

      Find good used ones or new ones. If you find used ones, replace the boots and add new grease

      Yes, I still have that baby. Go to my channel and open up a community window. I just posted a picture of it not too long ago. My friend went there to visit them and sprayed a lot of Fluid Film underneath. Both cars are in a different state now so I can't see them

    Hi I ask why you like these cars.They are good but no power.

    • @VITOSGARAGE
      @VITOSGARAGE  4 года назад +9

      I have another question for you. Why do you want to go fast?
      These cars, especially this 280E has a lot of power! 300D and 240D aren't as powerful but I look at reliability and quality of cars that were built back then. You cannot compare these cars to new Mercedes or new Hondas nowadays..! These cars will still be alive after 50 years, just watch. I will forever and always love these cars. I will drive and love these cars for the rest of my life! I hope it makes sense now🙌🚗 Please give all your love to a Classic Mercedes!

      Vintage Mercedes cars will be around for a long time, but the parts needed to keep them on the road won't be available.

    • @VITOSGARAGE
      @VITOSGARAGE  4 года назад +2

      Don't worry. They will be. I've got millions of parts piling up for them every day. I am getting ready for another 50 years of great Mercedes!
