Who’s learning balance point this year?! 💪🏻🔥
SALTxTHExWOUND Balance point defined: That one ratio that J Rods (ME) can never find because he's a squid sissy loser who pretends he knows how to ride.
imma try
J Rods lmao 😂
I'd like to get there...one day, lol. Tried a few wheelies yesterday...and I'm apparently a bit rusty! Every one was garbage 😳 hahaha
D. FRESH. 750 you’ll get it back bro just take it slow 👊🏻
"Your bike will feel weightless" - this explanation really helped me find it, I was under control but always just under balance point. 2nd year of practicing, watched your video, some more practice and I pulled off some monsters today it felt amazing. Thanks man!
Great to hear! keep it up man! 👊🏻
I love how when he pops his second wheelie he keeps it up and continues talking that’s awesome I would be screaming in the mic 😂
Thank you! You've got some of the best explained how-to vids much better than plenty of others
Glad it helped!
My tips would be:
1. Before trying to reach this point, learn using the rear break. Get the bike down on purpose and try to tip the break just slightly while still keeping the front up so you get a feel for it. Most people, even when they cover the break, take their feet of the pegs when getting to high.
2. DON´T learn wheelies at 60+mph
im doing wheelies on second and third gear 30-120mph speeds and i cant use the break yet... lol, but im chasing the wheelies, im basically just under the balance point, my wheelies still smooth and never have i crashed the bike :p gsxs 1000
Knox shouldn't of said never...good luck.✌✌!!
thats a good point. for a year i chased 1 foot wheelies till my friend said bring every wheelie you do down with the break and within a week my wheelies got 2 feet higher because i had control and mental reasurance i knew how to use the brake. if i got that high before i had learned that i also woulda taken my feet off and thrown the bike an ate shit.. key is learning the brake and everything else falls into its self. atleast for me.
Yeah. This dude in his video is going too fast and that why he’s failing in his instructional video. Should be in a lot in first gear learning.
Brake*
I never bother with balance point wheelies. I get up there but theres just something really badass about clutching up a 1000 and speeding off with the front wheel in the air. Really showcases what a monster of a bike my K6 is
This I can already tell has helped. I usually come up around 40-50mph in second then I chop the hell out of it for about 4-5 seconds before the bike cannot come back up anymore. I never thought as I was giving too much throttle I thought I just want going high enough. Thank you for saving me from a nasty wreck lol
good luck bro!
This was the tip I needed....I usually rev up, clutch up and keep the throttle at the same point because I feel like letting it go will bring it down. Thanks Salt!
Yall wanna learn how to wheelie? Come to philly. We wheelie everything
Amazing videos . I’ve watched all your wheelie videos and have recently been improving greatly . I can pop it up and ride it out some but I still can’t seem to keep it in balance point . Working on that throttle control !!
ThatRnRyder thank you! Keep up the practice and you’ll get there bro!
clutch ups on 4 wheelers and dirt bikes to start really do help especially being that most r forgiving, rear break is easier to learn too
Make sure your handle bars are straight when you come back down ,or you could get into a mean tank slapper and possibly crash
Good tips. Thanks for sharing. And congrats on getting engaged. We sincerely wish you two the very best. Peace and love.
David & Elizabeth thank you very much! 😊
One thing I believe everyone emphasizes on is 'placing your right foot on the break' at all times for sake of bring the bike gradually down whenever needed. What about the left one if it is not on the rear peg and if it is not a standing wheelie. It is all mind game and one needs to execute 1. rear brake and foot positioning, 2. clutch, 3. throttle, 4. body positioning. All this has to happen in the mind in a sequence, practice will develop this sequencing and body will memorize it. Why I say that is my brain somehow has developed a memory of shifting gear each time I rev for a wheelie. Fixing that first.
I find it's really hard to learn to first hit balance point because it's such a scary feeling if you're not used to it lol. I hit it once so far (Been riding maybe 5 months) and it scared the crap out of me and I slammed it back down.
Wish I woulda watched this a week ago... Currently laying in bed nearly crippled after giving wheelie too much throttle at 90mph
How you holding up boss?
Glad your laying in bed tho bro!
I ride a cbr 954. It has plenty of power to get to balance point in second. I believe my fear is not allowing me to bring the bike up.
My question for you is.
Does a wheelie bar help with the fear of looping. Or do I need to just grow some balls.
3:46 nyeeee nyeeeer
Thanks Brother Big help !
"if you ever see people doing wheelies like [Max Wrist]... Those choppy wheelies loop bikes" FACTS.
Fire, since I been watching you learning more. Just clutches up first time last night, so much smoother then just romping on the power, I got no question I’m self sufficient and I watch to get tipster master myself. Really all you can do right? No one else will wheelie for me haha
Jeremy Gorman that’s awesome bro! Keep it up and ride safe 👊🏻
SALTxTHExWOUND you are in Florida? I’m so jealous of the roads out there haha I’m in CT where the roads are garbage man
Jeremy Gorman the roads are nice but the corners are scarce 🤷🏻♂️
SALTxTHExWOUND what kind of GOPRO do you have the video and audio and very good.. not much wind noise at all
Jeremy Gorman I find power wheelies to be smoother but it depends on the bike. Clutching up for me is more nerve racking because it's much easier to over do it, then have to hit the rear brake putting the front wheel down hard.
all your wheelie tip vids is definitely helping me with wheelies im able to lift my wheel up a bit more everytime with my r3
Bryantrincon413 FAM thanks man keep it up!
I've been practicing wheelies. I can clutch up 2nd and ride it out to redline. The other day i went up so high it had to be near 12oclock. It kinda scared me. I thought i was borderline of flipping over. Is that balance point and i got scared or was i just up to high?
well , iff u were geting to that point real fast which means most of the time u gaved to much gass, then maybe u were to high in a risk of turning. So, try allways when u ride normally to practise that ur right foot is on the rear brake butt like that so u get the feeling off it. Not to hard cuz u can get tank slopper. My advice cuz i also started in 1 st gear on clutch, then 1 st gear with no clutch, then 2 nd gear with clutch then with no clutch , it is a bunch off steps that every step lasts like month or two depends on how comited are u, butt u must do all sistematically here iff u wana learn, so to learn to shift gears in the air 1 st learn to shift really really good while u drivini butrt WITHOUT clutch do it all the time upper gears without clutch, then when u doo whelies when u are in the air u dont have to be in 12 o clock butt sa 10 o clock so when u shift from 2 to 3 bike doesnt fall down ...i dont know iff u wil get any off this butt im too tired to explain here and tipe :) butt i know i had to learn m,yself cuz ,bikers are not to welcome and nice to give u advice...like u "have to pass the school urself" bullshit...
What’s the best gear to start the wheelie journey?? 1st or second . Coming back to bikes after 10yrs . Tuono 660 factory.
2nd gear for sure, good luck!
broo you doing with 1st gerar or 2 gear??
I do sit downs in 2nd gear, stand ups in 3rd gear
Well explained SALT. Kudos! ☮️
What is best rom to clutch up in 2nd gear ?
with appreciation for posting this... these sorts of wheelies are extremely DANGEROUS for Novice riders. You need to have a GOOD sense of the physics of your bike.. Momentum/Acceleration/Balance.. before attempting ANY wheelies, and at that point you need to start off with simple "chase" wheelies. Wheelying at 65mph is... risky, to say the least
Hi, is power wheelie more safe than clutch wheelie?
no sir :] clutch = more control and u dont need to constantly increase speed
Yo Salt. Moved to Trinidad Colorado last week. Elevation 6000 ft. and up. Totally ruined my Wheelie flow. Altitude robbed my power. Gonna have to change my gearing. I can yank a nasty first gear shorty.
Balance Point 71 oh dude I know the struggle, anytime we go to the mountains wheelies are a no go 🙅🏻♂️😂😭
😂 I don’t own a instagram account. Been learning wheelies for a couple of years. Can clutch up 1 and 2 sit stand but still no balance point. I’m chasing it out. Should the rpms be steady I’m assuming? I feel like I’m at 10 or 11 o’clock. Felt that weightless feeling once when I was going up a uphill road. Greatest feeling ever. 👍🤘
Yes it is! Yes the RPM’s should fairly steady at balance point. Just take your time and you’ll get there bro 👊🏻
So how many rpms would be required to pop the wheel up on a 150 cc? 😅
1 :)
I clutch up my 125cc at 5k rpm
Good video!
Since the gears are so long on the gsx-r750 you ever think about going up two on the rear? That's my plan I think.
I know a few people that have gone -1/+2 but I'm so used to stock gearing I think I'll leave mine.
Thanks for the video .. My bike always go to the right when doin wheelies .. any advice?
Less tire pressure in rear = more tire on the ground
@@christiansuggs6495 this is correct ... but what you mean by that ? is it better for wheelies? and make the bike straight?
Yes it’s the best for wheelies also maybe you’re holding to much weight towards the throttle side pulling the bike that way if you know what I mean
@@christiansuggs6495 yes I got your point ... ill try to fix.. thanks a lot.
Ride safe bro. Wheelies take time and is at your own pace
When are you going to try some tank wheelies?
Thank you 🙏🏽
No problem 😊
I don't think this is the gsxr750 how to wheelie video i'm still waiting for bro haha but great video
Ruthless Bone nope lol I have another video for next week THEN I’ll have that one out, so 2 weeks from now brother 👊🏻
Hell yea! Thanks for this video bro!!
Flyiian Hawaiian you got it bro 👊🏻
Yep nice video bro. I’m still here trying to get it off the ground lol
Two Wheel Aussie we all start somewhere bro! Haha ride safe 👍🏻
SALTxTHExWOUND yeah haha been at the start for about 2 years now lol. Just don’t wanna damage my bike
I would say the Starboyz have mastered it (wheelies)
I'm learning balance now, so how about you come out towards tampa and show me?
My second gear is too short to slowly get it to balance point it gets too high in its rpm range I have to pop it right to it but it’s so choppy and hard to control but it’s damn near impossible to get up in third
What if you're not afraid to get the bike up? What if getting the the front tire up isn't the problem? What if your problem is balancing? What if the bike tips left/right? How could one recover without dropping the front wheel/bike?
Asking for a friend
Where in Florida are you? I just moved down to Ft Myers area and own a 13 gsxr 750 looking for good roads around here and people to ride with!?
We have a group in port Charlotte. I know there's 2 on Facebook down your way
Broo I'm not able to take that long when i use break it just go down after i hit the balance point 🙃🙃 i'm not rushing but but i'm not improving 😢
Any pointers on a ninja650rl? finding it ridicously hard to wheelie decently!
Well im not salt but i can tell you my first bike was the 650 r its an awesome beginner bike and yes it can wheelie but your pushing roughly 70-80 hp which isnt a whole lot. However it has a ton of torque which will help you but honestly just not the bike you want to use to do wheelies imho of course.
What bike is that ?
Another tip on wheelies, if it is going to slam down give it a little gas right before it hits. Itll save the fork seals. Lol
What is your tire pressure at?
At this level it doesn't matter.
Seems wheelies are your thing and main objective. Are you not tempted by an upright bike which suits itself more to wheelies?
Jay B they’re a big focus on my channel but not in my riding style. I had an upright N1k before and loved it though 👌🏻
When I pop up the front my shit always leans left or right so I drop it so I dont fall over. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong??? When I get it up straight it's fine I can hold it up.
I have 1000 aprc Tuono that does this. It twists to the right. My KTM and Multistrada just dont do this at all.
What are the rpms before clutch in?
5 or 6 rpms let the clutch out and give more gas ...
i love it boy
It's the sound that gets me hype when you clutch up. I've been practicing hard in the parking lot...thanks for the help
You got this!
@@SALTxTHExWOUND thanks man! It's so much fun getting a little better and better each time!
Month later I'm still working at it. Making a ton of progress. No drops or loops. Feeling comfortable with it and getting consistent pick ups.
I'm on a Z650 though so it's a bit different. I'm doing 1st gear clutch up. I just need to be smoother with right hand.
I'm feeling good with right foot and rear brake. I've drilled that a lot and I have awareness of using it while in a wheelie. That's a weird skill that took time to get familiar with
Lot of fun so far and makes me a better rider
Me struggling to keep my wheelies up on my r3😢
It’s honestly just doin it. U can’t just watch all these videos and start wheeling. YOUR GOING TO LOOP OR CRASH. It’s gonna happen so just go out there and practice tryin to find balance point going slow then work ur way up
😍
Almost 57K subscribers......damn bro! Pretty soon you'll be doing videos crying about how youtube screws over its content providers 😉
Mac 215 lmao never, I do these videos for fun and would never quit my career and rely on RUclips alone. 😁👍🏻
Mac 215 😂😂😂
Yeah, and doing everything but ride a motorcycle.
Bama Backroads lol true
Mac 215 50,000 of those subs are due to Mrs STW aka Heather :)
On dirt bikes and 2-strokes I see guys chopping all the time.
That looks like Central Florida
Which bike are you riding bro? and also can you recommend the Suzuki gsf 650 Bandit s 2005? considering buying one
Tinh Van my buddy had a bandit years ago and loved it! I’d say go for it 👍🏻
I’m on a 2015 gsxr750
Salt give permission to slide in DM’s.#pullszipperdown
The Guardian 🔞🍆🙅🏻♂️😂
Balance point ...the place you should of eased up ,and tapped that back brake right before you ripped the ass end off your bike.😂🤣...✌✌!!
I dont have a bike...
I can get my bike off the ground after that I’m in full panic mode
I don't have rear brakes but I'm still doing wheelies lol. Not safe I know, but it's fun 🤷🏻♂️
That's the worst bike to learn on. A better bike to learn on is a drz400sm.
Its a 750?
Norey 1991 yep 👍🏻
See "Max Wrist: The Wheelie Loop:360 Camera! 😲 " on how to NOT wheelie. (I love Max Wrist btw lol)
Bro you gotta come up with something other than wheelie related videos. Yawn.
Dylan Yelton I do most of my videos by request, and a lot of people request wheelie videos 😉
