omg Karl, could see that memory of Gaurav being run over was painful. It's amazing that he survived, what a strong and lucky man! I'd love to bike in India, but I'm too chicken!
Wow! This is incredible!!! Me and my family had one such crazy experience driving from California to Colorado mountains in December of 2017. One terrifying drive! You guys did it on bikes though, which is a completely different experience. Stay safe and take it easy, Karl!
What a sad story sorry you had to watch someone you love go through that happy he’s ok and your ok love all you content rock army!! Sending love from Canada 🇨🇦
Realty is Border issues will never be solved with hopes and prayers like India has been doing since the last Indo China war in 1962 where India was humiliated very badly. Lot of talk and filtering the news coming out only fools most of the people and win elections. It is time, India truly builds a world class military to compete with world class powers and stop competing with Pakistan. This is like an elephant spending too time fighting with a fly. This requires courage, drive, pride, smart planning and above all stop making noise but just do it - Unfortunately and sadly India lacks it.
I hope both countries will find peace. The time is already bad enough and we have no more room for negativity, we shouldn’t be killing each other while we can lift each other up. It’s a very sad moment for both the PEOPLE of India and China and for the entire world.
2 minutes into the video & noticed i never knew there are places looking like this on earth. it looks insanely beautiful and peaceful. Greetings as allways :)! /edit, missed part 1, gonna check it out first:)
I could see you're literally crying on reminiscing of Gaurav's incident. The moment feels horifying. The untroden road, riding all alone in the middle of nowhere. Feeling suffocated. The people you met, the beauty of kashmir, the pine tress, the green lush flowing from the alpine, the rain, the rough road, the horse, the armies. Everything in a one-straight-ride. Sadness, happiness, adventure. Karl, you're one of the braves. Take care man. There's nothing to regret. At the end of the day that was worth an adventure.
India and Kashmir look so beautiful! My scariest travel experience was probably driving the pamir highway in Tajikistan. The brake fluid boiled on the way down one of the mountains (I must have been using the brakes too much) so I effectively had no brakes apart from the handbrake. The road conditions there look very similar to the roads in your video. We managed to make it to the nearest town and had the car repaired. Another scary one was driving through the night in a Siberian snow storm
My most difficult travel experience? getting lost in the middle of a remote region in Peru without knowing the local language, yet being helped by awesome people.
Namaste Karl saying hey from New Mexico USA my family and I are planning to visit India when vaccination is approved worldwide so who really knows when we will arrive there but we will make it one day? So I love your vids going to use them to help us see all of India we plan a One year to Six months-long trip if GODS WILLING my friend. Maybe we could meet up ??? YOU just please keep up the good work.
Who would dislike this video.. Simply just don’t watch Karl’s content. Or simply just don’t leave a thumbs at all! Save yourself the extra effort, because all Karl’s content is worthy.
Omg that sounded like a horrifying experience! Thank god Gaurav escaped unhurt 🙏 These Himalayan roads are really some of the most dangerous in the world! We did a similar trip in 2016 on a Royal Enfield and had a few scary accidents. I badly injured my ankle after our bike fell off the road. It took me months to heal 😭 I think I'll make a vlog about our trip too. You've inspired me once again 😊
Honestly I sometimes forget that you are from New Zealand, you know so much details about India and it's neighbors which even most don't know, it's really fascinating. You're fabulous, sir.
By the way Karl the India Tourism Board should be paying you handsomely because you are becoming a legendary walking, living, breathing advertisement for India. Jai Hind.
I had a similar experience while returning home from college in Dehradun to Mussoorie once long back, It was raining and my bike slipped on the turn above shiv mandir and there was a bus following right behind me, The bus driver slammed the brakes hard and thank god he had power brakes..
Amazing, but also sad because we won't be able to visit Ladakh this year :(. Hopefully next year when the tunnel is ready! So glad you and your family are doing well!
I'm glad that now, everyone can know through your video.....how extreme is Kashmir ...... although the most beautiful place in India. Now I feel that it is true that...."Rose blooms amidst thorns" .🤗🍃❄️🌸
Love you people of Jammu & Kashmir. I was praying that you were safe and alright during that whole shutdown. I have so many close ethnic Kashmiri connections and I love them all even if we don't agree on everything.
Thanks for letting us travel with you via RUclips. I learn so much. It makes me want to go to India. One of our worst travel experiences was travelling to Europe with my mother in-law. She just wanted to go home and we had planned on going to several countries. My husband is a fast walker and she had a hard time keeping up with us. I kept telling her "you can't stop now, we haven't gone to Paris yet" We got to London and booked a hotel that we found via trip advisor, which turned out to be nothing like what we thought it was going to be like. It was hot and they used a tiny table fan, we were on a loud street and the carpet was coming up and the roof was falling in. We told him it was nothing like what he advertised and we paid a lot of money for three rooms. We told him we wanted to change hotels and that we wanted our money back, he declined. So grandma, me, my husband and two kids got our suit cases and there was no taxis, so we walked to the tube (subway) during rush hour with the family and our suit cases in tow. Crowds bumping into us. It's funny now that I think of it, but it wasn't at the time. We got a hotel at Paddington Hilton. Because of my husband's frequent Hilton's honors status, he told them our story and we got to stay there on points and they upgraded us, plus they gave us a free breakfast buffet for the family. It turned out to be a blessing after all.
My grandfather had a similar incident in Bangladesh in 2016 as your brother in law. He fell off his motorbike on a highway, a speeding truck went over him and even passed him, but miraculously my grandfather came out alive and unharmed.
I share the same opinion regarding the Mughal road. This was in the year 2015. We were 5 of us riding from Srinagar to Jammu and we took this road. You won’t believe everyone of us had the same opinion and were cursing ourselves for taking this road. But at the end of the day it was the most beautiful journey of our life. Although we still curse for taking that road. But it really taught me lot of things, especially it helped me to work on my limitations and strength too. Thank you Karl for sharing your story. I hope to see you someday soon. Till then keep riding and adding more stories. Thank you. God bless you.
I could listen to you tell stories all day long! What a fantastic adventure! It was so hard at times but how wonderful that you were able to do it and come out with such amazing experiences and with so much more wisdom.
You’ve uploaded a lot of great vlog posts. These two about your trip with your brother-in-law into the Himalayas are among the very best. thank you for sharing these stories. I hope the story about your stop at the remote marketplace is uploaded soon.
I'm happy your brother in law is ok. Almost the similar happend to me and my friends we were riding our motorcycles we were about to cross a high wooden bridge and it was verry slippery on the road and my friend went first and he slipped and fell down i was right behind him and my bike started slipping and i lost control over it and i fell and that's not the worst part i was still gliding towards the edge of the bridge and if my friends did'nt help me i would've fell in the river with my bike.
Honestly I think that is god saving him. I had the same when i totaled and rolled my car from black ice, got out and walked away. If that doesn't cause you to believe in god nothing will. Sending much love karl
Fabulous emotional Vid/Vlog Karl. This was the first vid of Karl’s I actually clicked on fast forward (FF), I just needed to know the outcome of his brother in laws accident, thankfully it was a miracle one, god bless you all. 🙏
I repeat myself, but you are a wonderful and natural storyteller. How you made close to 20 minutes seem like 5 is a magical mystery. Great story, and you've told it in such a way that we as the listener/viewer were there with you all the way. Wonderful!
Hi Karl. I saw your video: "my scariest travel experience" which actually took me back to the days I served in the Israel Defense Forces. One of the toughest journeys made in the unit where I served: "Golani", was a 120 km journey with all the equipment that a combat soldier has to carry with him, about 25 kg, and all this in about 24 hours of walking with short breaks for drinking. After such a journey, you realize that nothing will stop you and you will be able to deal with anything in life. I really like your videos about India, travel, food and even your new family. Keep it up, and good luck.
Glad to hear you and your brother are okay 👍 Thanks for sharing the wild story! Hearing your adventures makes me want to get a motorcycle and travel the country!
My most difficult travel experience was in the road to Sandakphu from Darjeeling. Sandakphu is the highest land in West Bengal. And we can literally see Ma Kalu, Mt. Everest and Mt. Kanchanjaungha the famous peaks form Sandakphu. The road was made up of stone and boulders. Most of the ride was bumpy. And we were in a Land Rover with 2 freaking gears. They were old as hell. But we managed to get there safely. The road was breathtaking. It had the space for the car to climb, it was narrow as hell. The road which goes through Nepal was more dangerous. It was a journey of my dear life. Not doing it again.
Yeah random things happen for a reason, like today, we have been trying to get a builder for 4 weeks. We give a last chance call to a builder and phone goes to voice message. As soon as my partner hangs up the phone a man drives past our house in his van with builder sign on side of his vehicle. We google search him and see he lives 45mins from our town.My partner quickly runs to the car and drives after him. Luckily this guy stopped at a gas station to get food, my partner tells him the random story and the builder comes over straight away. Work will commence early next week. Things happen for a reason. God is good!
Karl you are a true biker. What is commendable is that you did it on your own and not as part of a group with logistical support, including a back up recovery vehicle. You learned from your mistakes and so much wiser now. Good on you mate.
Wow, Karl Ji it sounds like a very scary trip. I am glad you both were okay in the end! Side note China is going crazy trying to take over everything that does not belong to them.
This is india.....from the peaks of mighty himalyas in the north to the dips of laksha dwips and andman in the south..... From the wettest place in the world cherapunji in the east to the mighty thar desert in the west🙏🙏🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Dade, have adventures but please be extra careful you are very important to your family, friends and to us(subscribers). You do very important work of keeping foringers and Indians safe for scams. I really appreciate your hard work and love for our country. May god bless you and your family.
While luck played a huge part in Gaurav surviving, I think a lot of credit goes to the engineers and designers who designed the bike to be as safe as possible.
I've been to Ladakh & Himachal twice uptill now, once in 2018 on a bike and once in 2020 on a cycle. One of my worst experiences overthere was of getting stuck in the deadliest watercrossing encountered soon after leaving Sarchu towards Baralachala. I had been naive enough to have started late from Sarchu and it was almost mid day on a warm August day. The water crossing that is made up of several fast flowing streams that fan out covering a large area was growing in strength with the passing of the day and the intensity of water in each of those different streams kept on changing with the movement of the sun across the sky lighting up different points on top of the snow clad peak from where all of these streams were emanating at different times. The rush of the water was intense and loud and the thrust was so much that I could literally see big stones getting swept down in its flow. And with all of the stones and water that it brought about, it stopped the vehicles, big and small, from single motorbikes to big big trucks. While I was trying to cross over, I lost my balance and slipped and fell down. I was then literally lying down in the water with my back submerged in it completely. My bag that contained even my office laptop, got water inside it, man. And unfortunately, I had also got my own camera which I had to somehow keep the water from getting increesd. I held my hand holding the camera pointed hign up above the reach of the water and waited for someone to pull me out of that raging strorm of a river that was all the time trying to pull ,e along with it.
Holy hell this part 2 of the story is even more insane then the first. Again glad your ok and sorry you had to go through that scary experience with your brother in law. Having had several people in my own family die in motorcycle accidents this was truly a terrifying story. I personally could never own a motorcycle, not because I don't trust myself but I don't trust others on the roads. It's not that i hate motorcycles, if it wasn't for others on the roads I would really enjoy them, but it's the need to put my faith into others to not do something stupid that makes it not worth it to me. I have road a dirtbike when i was younger and 4 wheelers and I have crashed several times but it was nothing, just falling off hitting bumps and stuff like that, it was all off road trails and not any danger of being run over by other vehicles and all, still potentially dangerous but I've luckily never broke a bone or pulled a muscle or anything like that in my life, and i used to bmx race, vert skateboard and all that when I was younger! lol. Just super lucky. But others I knew not so lucky. In fact my uncle who at an older age decided he wanted to get a motorcycle again and when he went to do a test ride he pulled out on a road and was immediately hit by someone running a red light, he didn't die but got severely injured and effected the quality of his life pretty dramatically from then on until he eventually passed recently. And a few others like i said died on motorcycles so it's just too high a risk for it to be worth it for me.
Karl your the best even tho I'm a Pakistani American I still love to watch your videos. You have talent in your video's. Especially the scammer videos.
Remembering my own kinda similar (almost as disastrous) journey from Leh to Delhi. Accident, drive at night , with no headlight. I can really relate to that statement when you are freaked out of your mind but at the same time it’s so beautiful
Great story Karl ... my motorbike trip back in the day went through Vietnam into China ... not as eventful as yours ... there were plenty of mountains tho ... have travelled extensively around india (all back in the 90's) and loved my experience there ... you certainly know you're somewhere different .. love your content ... respect from UK
Crash guards are supposed to protect you especially the legs... a good one will do the job always. The panniers then make like a cavity where the rider is. If on the Himalayan you have Jerry cans they are plastic but they further protect you...

Absolutely,.... actually I am just 17 years old....but when I get a little more old....I hope to get a bike and set out for kashmir 🚵🍂🍃🍀

Honestly I think that is god saving him. I had the same when i totaled and rolled my car from black ice, got out and walked away. If that doesn't cause you to believe in god nothing will. Sending much love karl
When it isn't your time to go, even tsunami won't do anything to you....!!!
Fabulous emotional Vid/Vlog Karl.
This was the first vid of Karl’s I actually clicked on fast forward (FF), I just needed to know the outcome of his brother in laws accident, thankfully it was a miracle one, god bless you all. 🙏
Stay safe Karl! Much love😄🇮🇳
Now that is and was an adventure, that is the definition of what an adventure should be...
That's a tough story!
Luckily everyone is fine!
Karl is one great storyteller. Loved the narration ❤️
Thank you for sharing your experiences. You got some amazing shots! Stay safe bro ✌️
Beautiful video. I have never felt more welcomed as the time I traveled to India. 💕
I repeat myself, but you are a wonderful and natural storyteller. How you made close to 20 minutes seem like 5 is a magical mystery. Great story, and you've told it in such a way that we as the listener/viewer were there with you all the way. Wonderful!
You have great storytelling skills you engaged me with you I watched whole video without skipping even for 1 second
That may be a rocky barren place, but it looks beautiful. Glad Gaurav made it out ok.
Wow you're quite brave buddy. First the terrain is rough, second the border situation is not stable.
Love u Karl...thanks for video ...thus place is so beautiful woww
Karl i am so happy for u as u r approaching a million subs
You are living the life my friend. You are an inspiration
Nice video great travel experience.
I just love your videos 😊 and a big fan 😍 lots of love and hugs ♥️♥️😍 love from Nagaland 😍
I saw you on LWIAY and I was like this is karl rock!!
The adventure that got me to this channel and I finally get to see even more! Glad you’re here to tell the story. More please! #BeautifulIndia
Thankyou for sharing your crazy experiences
Bless you Karl.
OMG!!!!!! I CAN'T BELIEVE U GUYS DID IT!!!!!
I am binge watching ur whole "thing"
Lol
Sorry with tons of comments I have made on tons of vids.
Cool stuff, bro
13:26 WOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWW😮
Oh!!! That look on your face as you tell your experience is very natural...I think you remember each and every moment.
Epic adventure.....you earned that one. lol.. Thank you for sharing. Ride safely.
Remembering my own kinda similar (almost as disastrous) journey from Leh to Delhi. Accident, drive at night , with no headlight. I can really relate to that statement when you are freaked out of your mind but at the same time it’s so beautiful
He is giving me so thrilling vibes even Conjuring wasn't that dangerous 👀
I hope you are all right Karl...get well soon.
They call LEH as Hell..I did solo in 2017 all alone and with my wife in 2019..It is scary always..But at the end.. GOOSEBUMPS make you stronger.
Great vlog bro
Great story Karl ... my motorbike trip back in the day went through Vietnam into China ... not as eventful as yours ... there were plenty of mountains tho ... have travelled extensively around india (all back in the 90's) and loved my experience there ... you certainly know you're somewhere different .. love your content ... respect from UK

As an indian, I want to thank you Karl for sharing your beautiful messages about India to the people around the world
You tell a story very well.
I love u Karl rock please respond to me :) love from England
Crash guards are supposed to protect you especially the legs... a good one will do the job always. The panniers then make like a cavity where the rider is. If on the Himalayan you have Jerry cans they are plastic but they further protect you...
Bravo Karl. Now we now @Kashmir, this is where it all started. The journey that made you... Godspeed 💝 Band of Brothers, wanted on Voyage 💖
