I am most surprised to see that there are still a fair number of those beautiful Mukwa, Pod Mahogany, Teaks, Natal Mahogany, Mopane and other majestic trees still standing and the road is still as good as it was when we last drove it in the mid 80's! One of the best drives ever! Thanks for posting.
Thanks! Love to India! We recommend tourism to Zimabwe, with careful daytime only driving. Visit the capital Harare for wide roads & leafy suburbs. Visit the sister city for a taste of the 80's, it hasn't changed. Visit Nyanga, Mutare & Chimanimani for rugged moutains & forests both plantation & natural jungle. Visit Great Zimbabwe for deserted, mysterious ruins. Ruins of ancient civilisations dot the region, South Africa, Mozambique & Botswana included. Visit Victoria Falls for some of the most amazing scenery on earth! Visit Hwange or Gonarezhou for incredble game viewing opportunities. The people are mostly poor but always kind, smiling, helpful & very friendly.
The trees are moving.. Yes the road is this good throughout now(2016)with some hard patches ND deeps as already alluded to, but nice.. Beware of wild animals ND domestic animals... Yes best drive during the day ND avoid hot times... Zim woyee
No, there are sections that need repair, sudden dips that are hard to spot. Always drive carefully in Zimbabwe, you know what our roads & drivers are like.

Thanks for comment. Sometimes an hour would go by without seeing another car, but that was pretty rare. We loved driving Zimbabwe's quiet roads!

Soooo beautiful
Just lovely, isn't it?
Woow I had accident near half way hotel nice
This seriously looks like Victoria, Australia.
I miss that road, did an average 3 to 4 trips per month on it
Are there any petrol stations from Bulawayo to Victoria falls? How much is a litre now? Also can you recommend good lodges nearer to the Falls
Poor road good nature
That road was better than we had been lead to believe...
No warning signs facken roads
ROADS ARE TOO TOO NARROW
for sure.
All being upgrade & widened soon. The Harare to Beit Bridge road was much worse & they are fixing that one first.
Vicfals to be de capital wen chamisa comes into power coz harare ndeyeZanu
Chamisa wants Gweru mostly because it's in the middle. I agree with him.
is the road like this all the way

We passed a sign post for Dete & Kamativi at 3 min 11 & that makes us south of Hwange & about 120km from Vic Falls.
overspeeding boss
No more than 100 on good stretches
Can you blame Rhodesia for built good and strong quality tar road? Up today Zimbabwe still using what left by white minority.
Enough of Rhodesia, it's getting boring now.
