Something you should go over is how to enter onto a rail, box, all the different terrain park stuff. Getting that little hop and the appropriate speed has always been the hardest part for me

I watched this video today right before I went to my local "mountain"*. Landed my first 5050 into boardslide, and also just a regular boardslide. I'm 34, so learning new stuff isn't quite as easy as it used to be, haha. It probably helps that I used to be a skateboarder though. Still, this video helped a ton, so thanks for that!
* I live in Finland, we don't have any real mountains here. Let's be real, it's more like a hill or something.
Haha we as ur neighbor country have even smaller hills, i cant even enjoy 30sec down and 4 min up. When i visited findlqnd atleat i could enjoy big jumps and pow, pow was soo good there

I slid out and ate it on my a** not even 15 mins before you posted this trying to do my first board slide. Would’ve helped… 😂 hit the slide, then straight from rail to left cheek in the snow
Ricky Bobby back in the house! Heading to Nordic in Wisco in a few hours and planning on hitting the terrain park for the first time today. Goal is to get at least 1 trick down today. I'm gonna make it a board slide now after watching this video. Great pointers! Should really help me out! Good thing it's only a 5 minute top to top! Let's send it!

Should we try to match the way we are leaning to the slope of the mountain?
Yes! That goes for the rails too, if it's a down rail instead of a flat rail, you need to attack the rail more so you'll need to lean more forwards. Otherwise you'll fall on your ass. To me that came naturally tho, once I got boardslides down on a flatrail, I just automatically adjusted for the rail

Is board slide on snowboard easier that doing one skating? Cause I’ve always been nervous to do it snowboarding cause you’re strapped in. If it feels off while skating you can just bail and jump off can’t really do that with snowboard
Well, on a snowboard there's usually absolutely zero friction you can feel on the rail so be ready for that. And because you can't really bail if you don't know how to do it, you'll need a back protector and maybe some cushioning for the ass.

On a snowboard you can jump off with the board or roll off the rail cuz there are no trucks. Just remember to turn only flat while jibbing or it can cause a nasty slam because of loosing a contact
I found boardslides are enjoyably easier on a snowboard because a contact spot with a rail is much bigger than it's on skateboard deck with a concave

I come from skateboarding, I know how to boardslide on a skateboard. But doing it on a snowboard looks very slippery. Is it really slippery?
Yes it is. You cannot lean back at all but it is very easy if you have the counter rotation down.

I find front lips alot easier tho, I think its just the jumping backwards part that's a bit scarier and harder to balance with than just bringing the backfoot over with the front lip.
