Mel from Devon here, i am coming back for my 5th trip across this road in september with my son in law his first trip to scotland ever and hes on a bike too, thanks for re-lighting al the memories of a stunning land, full of friends, and fellow bikers, amazing footage the best ive seen of this road other than riding it.
Excellent,,,, nearly had me greetin for the bikes that I no longer have. A drive up the Rannoch moor on a bike is enough soul food to last a year, mebbes even a lifetime..
Loved every second, shows one of the best faces of Rannoch Moor and Glencoe. I've driven this more times than I can remember but never ridden it yet, this section will be a great reward at the end of 5 hours of riding.
Love this...the A82 is an experience that all bikers should have on there hit list... ride it then stop a while & take in the majesty of the place, one of the few places that can truly humble you & in the UK. Thanx for sharing.
Loved this video and the A82 had to get on it so holidaying last week we drove from Cardiff up to Fort William and went on this road in our campervan, it was breath taking.
Been there, done that 9 years ago, glad 2 c u got better weather than we did!!! Absolutely pee'd it down through Glencoe in2 Fort William. But hey, wot beautiful scenery and a great song to go with it, wld do it all AGAIN!!!!!!!!
To who ever made this video..I actually dont like bikes (sorry, I once biked through Germany) BUT love driving...You may not know this but we played this video and this film a lot last year. We are Libyan but parts of Libya look like Scotland....OK a bit dryer! We palyed this when we were really scared..it kept us going...Thanks...
A great video to bring the urge to get up there and and have some fun in this wonderful motorbike playground after the Glencoe garage the next right is the best 20 mile detour you can take around the Loch and come out on the other side of the bridge
As I said earlier we did this in our camper 3 months ago, we got up to Fort William where we had bad news, my Sister took a bad turn for the worse in her fight against cancer so after 3 days out of our 2 week tour, we had to rush back to Cardiff where she died 2 weeks later, so as you can all imagine, this video has a very special meaning to us, thank you so much for putting it on here.
I will be driving along the A82 in a few weeks, from Loch Lomond to the island of Sky, passing Fort William and Glencoe. This video has whetted mu appetite!
Oh lovely. and you went passed Mr. savilles house! I have driven threw that area in winter, my bikibg tours are usually europe but this year maybe up to the bonnies. I will youtube no doubt...to add to my many.
Just did 1500 miles in 7 days, always wanted to get there on a bike and finally did, just so glad I had a cam on the bike. That little lot will keep me going through this winter. Would love to go back again next year and explore further north.
Just back from 2 weeks in Scotland, walked to the "Lost Valley" for the first time (left hand side at 4mins 35secs in the vid), bumped into 2 blokes from the midlands who told me about your video, am showing it to me Gran and me folks. Your video sums up the beauty, magic and power of Glencoe, nice one , Slainte & Peace out;)
Well, luck was on my side and I made the ride to Inverness this Summer, crossing Rannoch Moor on the approach to Glencoe was in the same weather as the above video, anyone guess what I was singing (in a bad way) as I went through Glencoe? What a wonderfull experience, the scenery is beyond description, after watching many clips of Glencoe on U tube this one was the main reason I went, I just had to see it myself, many thanks for posting it from a long way south.
Wow. Super scenery and great song, and sunshine in Scotland. Thanks for leaving the sound of the bikes in :D Gonna have to plan a visit up there to do that road on my bike... Cheers!
A82 is simply one of the most rewarding roads in Britain. I took a wrong turn, back in 2001, while on a Scottish holiday, and maintain even now it was the best wrong turn I've ever made. Glencoe was simply awesome.
I was up there a couple of weeks ago from Australia , What a beautiful country and great driving roads although not a bike rider I think it would be a great ride on the right day . Great vid and great music. A better camera would have been nice but well done
Ha, this is bizarre . I drove this road last week to go canoeing close to Mull, and only downloaded the album yesterday. After listening to this song I thought it's go beautifully with that road (My favourite road in the UK) Then today, I go to show my mate the song, and this is the first result. Small World.
Drove there last year on a Scottish roadtrip (on my Yamaha R1). The whole week we drove nice and calm, yet we couldn't handle the pressure of the nature of speed calling so this one (and only this one) went very fast ;) Really want to go there again some time!
This is probably going to be the toughest section when I walk from John O'Groats to Lands End in 2014. Glencoe to Killin in 2 days. Nothing to see except road and mountains.
love it up here i go up every year in the *car :(* with my DH bikes to fort william the big DH track... id love to go on bike though and i always call in at the green welly stop and chat to bikers :D
