Sis Bridget when I came to Nigeria last year before the pandemic, I stayed in a hotel with My Hubby because of security reasons. I love my Mother and Father in law but My Hubby knew I was at risk staying in the village. Everything you are saying is so true. My best friend Sister and her church members were gathered up by the American Embassy to fly out immediately because of danger lurking around them after they were exposed. 🇺🇸 I love Nigeria. Thanks Obodo Oyibo TV. The last time I went home, I entered a bus from Lagos to the East. Mmmm wahala... the bus driver hated me. He has never seen me before o. Just my appearance, he said I work in Oil Company. He said I am eating Nigeria oil money. I was just praying not to get hurt. Nigerians will definitely know if you fall in from Obodo Oyibo. No be JuJu be that !!!
Your actually right. Spent 15 years in the UK but because I was an Army brat I can speak Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo. Immediately I came out of the airport I wrapped my wrappa on top my trouser and found my way to my hotel. But the mistake I made was not taking my tag off, on my way to the East at that Benin underpass the police kept us for two hours. The driver took me aside and told me it's because of my tag. I quickly paid them and destroyed the tag. Fast forward now I have my ankara dress and slippers, I go to one of the local bus terminals and travel home. Easy no stress.
Nigeria! Such a beautiful country with so much controversy.. my husband couldnt sleep till I got back safely to the United states..meanwhile I was busy walking around taking pictures of everything 😄.. only for me to get a cautionary text from the United states embassy I was like what is happening.😮..regardless I love Nigeria and am not even Nigerian my step father is 😄..I just hope the country gets better ..We pray for a better Africa and a better Nigeria because if one African country succeeds All Africans succeed .

This advice is mainly for people like you who come to Nigeria acting the tourist or visitor. For those of us that go to Nigeria 2 to 3 times a year, no ones asks me " When are you going back". I live in Nigeria. People see me as living Lagos. Once i exit the arrival hall, i become 100% Nigerian. It's only immigration that know i carry a Red passport. Most of your tips are on point anyway.
File Disappeared, someone has claimed the gratuity as well. Same in other countries. Taxes are paid but IRS staff can manipulate it & "adjust" it to suit the payee's pocket so that 10% can be paid. My sister Man must live!! I fell off my chair with laughter about the removal of luggage tags. Very True Thanks for drawing attention to it

I agree with you Abuja and Lagos are very safe ! The problem is when you travel down to the village especially in the East . You will start fearing your own village people .It is so sad!

many years ago. I went with 52 church members to Nigeria for conference. before Ieft I prayed that evil person will not see me and I won't see them. I carried most of my ankara and adire out fit. during my stay my accent changed to local accent and my skin darkened.
Nigerians paid tax, I worked before I left Nigeria and I paid tax just the same way I paid tax here where I work for the London Fire Brigade even before I got my passport those days I had to produce my tax clearance certificate, I don’t know about these days. @@labellerose7640 try to fly from London to Bafoussam then or from Paris to baffoussam. I am speaking in the context of this video. There are only 2 airports in Cameroon. Douala and yaounde. The rest are local airports.

It’s very interesting to hear this from someone British born and travel to Nigeria regular since I was 19 without my parents. I’ve not really needed to change my accent, not tell people I’ve arrived and take tags off or change my cloths. If you internalise that something is lurking (danger) you’ll find it or it will find you. Yes Nigeria is different and government has failed us like crazy but there is nothing to be scared of. It’s only God protecting us every step of the way regardless. I ride Uber/ Bolt alone and often walk to places in Lagos alone minding my business. Rightfully you’ve said tho, dress simple doing be doing rich rich I wanna I wanna and think no one will say ‘anything for the boys’ that between you and you. Be wise, have fun and enjoy Nigeria

I am happy to also learn that there are airport in every state, that will minimize my road travel.
Most of it goes to the North, even the alcohol taxes, because they have so many LGAs in the North. They hate alcohol, but they don't mind spending the taxes collected on it. That is why, even Nigerians that are against the country dissolving are calling for restructuring. With restructuring, each state should be able to spend their tax monies on their residents and infrastructure.
Please talk the truth! I used to travel to Nigeria regularly prior to Covid . My dear na prayers I dey pray from the first day of my travel until I enter plane to return to the US .The danger is real! The lack of Government services is real ! If we do not complain how will it become better ?How will it improve ? People are so hungry! There is so much suffering ! Those people that will be updating their wakabout (aka movements) on social media (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook etc) they are just inviting *monitoring spirits* (in human form) into their affairs. Even when Nigeria was still safe in the 90's and early 2000's we never tell folks living in our hometowns (aka villages) that we are coming to visit nor when we are living. *We just show up SURPRISE SURPRISE* 🤣🤣🤣& everyone got used to it. It’s very interesting to hear this from someone British born and travel to Nigeria regular since I was 19 without my parents. I’ve not really needed to change my accent, not tell people I’ve arrived and take tags off or change my cloths. If you internalise that something is lurking (danger) you’ll find it or it will find you.
Yes Nigeria is different and government has failed us like crazy but there is nothing to be scared of. It’s only God protecting us every step of the way regardless. I ride Uber/ Bolt alone and often walk to places in Lagos alone minding my business.

Most of it goes to the North, even the alcohol taxes, because they have so many LGAs in the North. They hate alcohol, but they don't mind spending the taxes collected on it.
That is why, even Nigerians that are against the country dissolving are calling for restructuring. With restructuring, each state should be able to spend their tax monies on their residents and infrastructure.

Please talk the truth! I used to travel to Nigeria regularly prior to Covid . My dear na prayers I dey pray from the first day of my travel until I enter plane to return to the US .The danger is real! The lack of Government services is real ! If we do not complain how will it become better ?How will it improve ? People are so hungry! There is so much suffering ! People are so desperate that they are ready to do anything to sustain themselves .Also they are never satisfied with any thing you give them ! Your money go finish in Nigeria !
