Wow, just wow. The pendulum harp is cool but her voice on this performance is incredible. I started getting choked up at how beautiful it is. I just have to see her sing live, hopefully she does one more tour
When your eyes Pause on the ball That hangs on the third branch From the star You remember why it is dark And why it gets light again The earth like the hearts Slopes in its seat And like that it travels Along an elliptical path Drawn into the darkness An unpolished pearl In the sky black in palm of hand Flickering sun flame And then you remember That you yourself You are a light bearer, a light bearer Receiving radiance from others Flickering sun flame Unpolished earth in the palm of hand
she was probably finally really connecting to the subtle bleakness of this track because of the time this performance was in relation to the Vulnicura narrative. there was always something really haunting and empty feeling about this composition that really makes you focus on the disciplined optimism presented in the lyrics. it’s a track that really embraces humans place with nature.
@@amgm1996 as time has passed, I’m finding it truly amazing that she devoted a whole album to showing how her understanding of music appears in the natural world. it really sets up the rest of her discography to be presented as more thoughtful and considered, even though it’s going in a much more emotional direction. absolutely love her. she’s a true warrior for the senses.
Still my favorite performance by her. So much emotion, her vocals sound far superior to the studio version and more resonant. Same with the fantastic instrument. The album version didn't do the song justice.
this was around the time Vulnicura was being written, and some of the roars sound like notget roars. hmm.. I always thought this song was about fluctuating between existential emptiness and feeling a purposeful life. I thought it ended Biophilia on a bleak note, tbh... the lyrics are hopeful and romantic... but her delivery of the statements says a lot about her current emotional state... it’s a refrain that shows that Biophilia is loaded with personal nuances deep within the surface science songs.
I honestly think Biophilia serves as an emotional predecessor for Vulnicura. A lot of the songs are dark and eerie in tone, like Dark Matter, Hollow, and Thunderbolt . And then there are songs that allude to her relationship breaking apart in songs like Sacrifice and Mutual Core and needing that love connection in Virus. When describing the album, she detaches her personal life from the making of this album, but I assume as a defense mechanism as she was crafting Vulnicura a bit afterwards. I see Biophilia as the magma rising, and Vulnicura as the volcanic eruption of emotion.
@@JulianGaona-n7zdefinitely! I also think Biophilia needed to be made as a form of exposition for setting up her later work. I believe Biophilia was the first album she made where she wasn’t on a major record label- so more independent. She definitely explores her feelings in very subtle ways through the lyrics, but listening closely you feel her general “vibe” she was in through how she uses her voice. I think she also had a feeling that she needed to make an album that is very “logical” before making something that is purely emotionally driven… why she stayed with someone that she was having those dark confusing feelings about is a mystery to herself that she needed clarity about… and she beautifully found answers.
Björk just shared the link with this performance on her Twitter. Ultra beautiful.
bjork linking this video on her twitter is queen behaviour
Best Solstice performance by far! Actually, this is just one of her best performances period.
wow, Finallly bjork connected with this song. best solstice performance ever.

Connected, exactly! Even if I wasn't at the right place to film her clearly (the pendulum is beautiful but... huge), everything was pure & magical!
When your eyes
Pause on the ball
That hangs on the third branch
From the star
You remember why it is dark
And why it gets light again
The earth like the hearts
Slopes in its seat
And like that it travels
Along an elliptical path
Drawn into the darkness
An unpolished pearl
In the sky black in palm of hand
Flickering sun flame
And then you remember
That you yourself
You are a light bearer, a light bearer
Receiving radiance from others
Flickering sun flame
Unpolished earth in the palm of hand
This perfomance is beyond perfect
Better than the studio version. In awe
one of the greatest female artists ever
in this case I really don't think "female" is necessary

beautifully worded
yes. the last 3 biophilia traxks are so haunting, oblique, prophetic of her next era, its so strange

Perfecto performance, su voz se escucha fuerte y llena de sentimiento, hipnotizante instrumento, es como una bruja, todo muy mágico.
