This manga does a pretty good job at depicting what it's like to be an emotionally needy person whose addicted to validation and how it can destroy ones life and the people around them.

Finally an actually accurate yandere manga story man, a story that shows the problems of relationships and why you can't fix her(you really can't). Mangas in general only show the good sides of relationships or/and make them completely unrealistic. Many mangas make use of the concept of a random popular girl falling for a guy who got nothing going on in his life and is an introvert and the girl falls for him for the sillest reasons(because of self pandering for the audience), when in reality when a girl falls for a guy like that(very surprisingly) he'll stay in his own misery refusing to change and the girl realising she was dumb will leave him or stay with him and let him push her down. But this manga, this manga actually showcases a toxic relationship, it does what I actually wanted romance mangas to do(can't really name this one a romance manga tbh but u know what im saying), it actually shows how people actually behave, how someone can be tricked to be in a relationship because of their kindness, how a broken person can destroy your life, this manga is just real and is a warning to us readers about this kind people, and that's what I like about it, no sugar coating, just the straight truth, this manga is actually telling us about a realistic relationship, while other mangas just make a story where no one resolves their problems but somehow still get a happy ending because of bad writing. But if you are one of the people saying "i can fix her" or "I want her", work on yourself dudes because if you actually would like to be in a relationship with Kanae, you must have it rough. Good luck on your journeys, we are all in our own timelines, just because you are doing bad now and others are doing well, that doesnt mean that you are below them because in the future you'll do better if you work on yourselves. I feel indifferent to her and see her more as a lesson to the reader a warning if you will. You can never balance the scales of suffering but you can reach out to those affected by it to better there lives and hopefully they in the future pay it forward.

Me. I'll say it. I became obsessed with my own girlfriend. I wanted to spend every second beside her, and while it was out of love, it became a problem. Every time we had even a small argument, I would resort to self harm. She obviously tried helping me, but I was too mentally unstable. She ended things with me, and I only have myself to blame. Thankfully I didn't kill myself that day.

I did think it was originally cute, but it felt like she had so much expectations from me like she put me on a massive pedestal, talking about how I was the greatest person she has ever been with, and she'll kill herself if we break up. We did eventually break up, and it was pretty toxic, and gave me genuine trauma but yeah. She did eventually apologize for her behaviour after 2 years though.

I'm sadly very much like Kanae, but luckily I don't do anything with older men, would never arrange for a girl to be abused like ichicka, or secretly some master manipulator, But I understand a lot of what she's going through.. We're mentally ill, we have no one, and we're extremely unstable.. I hope things fix themselves, and I hope ichicka is okay even after that..
To me the most relatable is all the echoes in your head. But rarely self hatred. I dunnno if it’s anything serious or what but do you happen to just do a thing and then just hear the thoughts “I’m doing this thing” non stop and you don’t realise until you accidentally say it out loud. Or maybe a whisper. It happens to simple things too like “Oh I like how this tastes”. Also I don’t recall having this for a long time, it just randomly happened once and it ain’t ever stopped. She definitely has BPD. I've known many women with it and shortly after I read the first few chapters, everything Kanae did, said, and thought was almost identical to those women I've known. It isn't some cute obsessive thing, it is self-destructive, chaotic, and it drags you down the well with her until you feel nothing but apathy and resentment for her. Just remember bros, you cannot fix her. She isn't a bad person, she just is not mentally well, and you are not capable of healing her

been on that situation before, except i was the obsessed one (although i am now more mentally stable and decided to leave my now ex partner alone since i realized it was the most healthy decision for both of us). it is an awful experience for both people. so, if someone gets obsessed with you, even tho some people tell you to just tell them to fuck off, that's a very cruel decision imo. what you gotta do is make it clear that the person is breaking your boundaries and you do not and will not accept that. make sure the message goes through but don't be rude about it. then, if the person needs it, you can offer help. (Obviously you will most likely not be able to "fix" them right away, but you can at least make sure their situation doesn't get any worse by giving advice, sympathy, and let them know if they do or say something wrong). However, if you are the one that is obsessed, i recommend seeking professional help, meditating often, expanding your ethic, moral, and logic knowledge as well as your self awareness, and practicing cognitive behavioral therapy. things do get better eventually but it recquires active effort and dedication

[Final Part] When you think about this, Japan does not take mental health seriously any it shows. Borderline Personality is possible to be far manageable but it will require intense work from a trained professional in the specific condition. Stage 1: Gain trust. This takes time. If the person can see you as a trusted individual for one reason or another they will sit there and eventually start answering questions. Stage 2: Digging. The Professional will ask various questions that dig into the person's history. It will start inoculated and eventually get pointed. It doesn't particularly matter how but it will happen at the professional's discretion. Stage 3: Conflict. This honestly will happen throughout the process but deep enough, the person will beckme more volitile. Its not on purpose, the professional is just tampering with sensitive topics. So the person will react a lot. Its all sensitive so the professional has to be the grown up and communicate to the client the most calmly but firmly when necessary. Stage 5: Core. Once enough trust, answers, crying, intense emotions, and ultimately defensiveness, the core will emerges: something akin to the inner child. But its very close to the inner child. The shame and vulnerability and fear will present itself as raw and very vulnerable. The professional will have gained trust to interact with the inner child and the inner child, a trust with the caregiver. This profound stage is where the work will be akin to showing. It varies at times. But the child will open its world, revealing the truth of the horrors the being was exposed to at such an young age. To an adult, it is...inocculus but the one revealing it really needed support so it means an insurmountable importance. The professional is delicate but reassuring. Stage 6: Rewriting & Repair. The professional will need to confess and tell the inner child what ought to/ should have happened in their childhood. The professional will affirm the inner child that they are actually a good girl/ boy/ person and that they needed someone to tell them that. I don't have proper words to describe this process but you are speaking to the person's inner child so you will be engaging akin to the parent they needed. In my guess, the client will feel incredibly safe. Stage 7: Clear. The person will have undergone a notable change. This will sort of be noticed throughout the process but this part will be very noticeable. Their defense mechanisms will be overwritten , sort of. The person will feel bliss of yhe calm and the storm no longer being nonexistent but, there is yet so, _nothing_ . This is not to be alarmed. The thing is, they will begin the rapid process of being raised or "re-Parented". They will get to know the _true them_ going forward. Stage 8: Rediscovery & Empowerment. The person may find the new calm very relieving but will eventually wonder in this peace, 'Who can I be"? This is the beauty. Beyond the clear is discovery. You can start and be whoever you want to be so you move in life and rediscover yourself, your interests, likes & dislikes. They begin to actually value themselves in themselves as themselves. And you do so with the professional. The good part is that all the skills you've gain while in your prior state transfer over. This maintenance period is, imo, why therapy can prolong but its just as important. The goal isn't forever, its independence. Stage 9: Self-Maintenance. The person gains confidence and can solve their own problems using the skills they learning in therapy. This stage could be relatively short but it is necessary. Stage 10: Leaving the nest. The person has the whole sense of self and the ability to cope healthily in the world. The person makes their leave and has so make that transition. Some do not and attempt to prolong this process because of their strong ties to the professional but the professional will encourage confidently the client's departure. Its time to fly. Like a kid going off into college it is a tearful goodbye but a confident one. The person flies away and may stumble but the person will have enough confidence and begin to gather its own strength to fly strong and deal with its own problems to start its adventure with promise and great certainty. The end. These are my thoughts of the process imo of how the BPD person is transformed. I left quite a bit out. The professionals know FAR MORE than I do so I'd consult THEM. I mentioned, imo, a general idea but it is VERY intense. But it is good work to do. I appreciate every professional who have guided their clients towards better and more independent lives. This is meant to show that these individuals, fictional or not, have a future that can be accessed. I gathered this from many sources, some books, lots of mental health videos, some psych classes I took in the past. (I am not a professional. I am an enthusiast.)
Sometimes the process isn't even linear. I keep getting stuck around step 5, and I'd be lucky to go up to 7 before going back to square one lol BPD is painful. It's more like a warped sense of view towards the world. Idk how I'm still alive at this point
I remember reading the manga out of curiosity a year or so ago and dropping it after what she had those boys do in the van. Especially since around that time, I had just gotten together with someone who had experienced similar things. I didn’t want to have that type of material in my life while also being with someone I care for.
Constantly breaking by everything while getting false hope from opportunists to the point of completely being lost in the dark. This thing happen, people blame them for what they are without knowing how did they become that way.
The worst mistake was ignoring the red flags. As much as you want to help someone, the status quo isn't so easily breached because of such landmines. With the volatility of the human mind in such environs, it is best to grow stronger to defend yourself because you is all you'll have. I really hope they don't actually have it like this in schools, but you (or just me?) will never know.
I was actually the Hiroshi in a situation like this at some point in my life😅. It didn't go to the extremes of this story but the emotional manipulation of a 'helpless girl' on a guy who really just wants to be good to others. I had a friend like this. Although she was a bit more self aware. Which makes it worse when she inevitably did alot of what happened in the manga. Unlike the manga she ended up in prison due to gang activities.
I feel her. Kanae just wanted to be loved, she was so desperate to feel loved or have any form of seemingly "positive" attention that she went to drastic measures. It is understandable why she did everything she did and why she is the way she is

[Part 1] Seems like the character Kanai is based off a person in a splitting situation. So, she cannot see people in a general sense of reasonably good but solely good/ angelic/ savior or bad/ devilish/ the worst of all evil that deserves immense punishment. Children have this at early stage of development with their mother. Its one reason why they're clingy. They literally need it. Her friend group is vicious and she has a poor sense of self and her fight response is possibly fawning. She thus doesn't have much of a healthy sense of self and thus she cannot defend herself. Perhaps the domineering household taught her to comply & surrender than reasonably defend. Her childhood is domineering, shame-based, and unsafe. She probably isn't getting enough intimacy from her Father and her Mother is likely neglectful and unsafe. She seems to unconcsiously search for it through men in sexual experiences via repitition cpmpulsion. The chaotic scrabble of her life is unstable and unpredictable. My guess is that this character is suffering from traits of Borderline Personality disorder. Its a guess but it sort of points there.

i was like this when i was younger and looking back i feel disgusted in myself, but also understand i did it cause i felt alone and felt that was all i was worth. this was also from a seventh/eighth grader too, so i was just a kid, but the people i affected were just kids too. ive gotten a lot of help tho, and am actively avoiding relationships cause with bpd i understand thats dangerous for me. but yeah no, you dont want someone like this. you do not want to romanticize something like this. its not good or healthy and it does not make you happy, its awful for everyone involved.
Get a relationship with someone else who has BPD or who's open to these things, you can control your most destructive mood swings with the right tools. No need to isolate yourself like that.
Yup definitely, I’m tired of people calling her a yandare because she’s got lots of the symptoms (real recognize real). I went through similar things as her (not to this extreme) and when I got diagnosed with bpd and got help things got so much better

You cant diagnose someone as a teen though and im not really fitting the criteria anymore, but i know because i thought i had bpd as a teen and researched the symthoms a lot. I have severely mixed feelings about Kanae, one part of me wants to take action against her such as by reporting as hard as I can to save other people like Hiroshi , the other part of me wanted to see her get revenge on her bullies no matter the cost and the other part of me is broken by the difference between her appearance and actions which crosses the line Like, I don't want someone like this or like Sone Miyuki who hurts other people because they got hurt to exist chiefly because I know that revenge has the potential to create monsters and what they do to others isn't worth it, people don't need to become monsters because another monster hurt them and people have to band up and stop them before more lives get hurt. As much as I understand what she did to Ichika and I mean revenge isn't simple, what she did to Hiroshi makes me want to seriously stop her for example by reporting even if knowing Kanae this will become intense. It's like this, I feel way too angry hearing about these stories and it's why I feel I may need to avoid them for my own good both in real life and fiction. I need to watch something healthy. First, Curiosity killed the cat and secondly knowing that all of what happened to Kanae can be real worsens it and now thoughts about Tomato paste seem to be interested in me, you could say in a memetic fashion.
I don’t think it’s fair to compare Miyuki to Kanae, their situations are way too different. Miyuki resorted to that cause she was basically cursed to never love anyone else by a decision you make yourself. It wasn’t out of just pure hatred and wanting to see people suffer like Kanae, nor was it for some kind of selfish reason. Sure she broke down and went crazy but it was still more understandable than anything Kanae does.
[Part 2] 23:18 imo, another part is the issue here is that Japanese couples are, by comparison to the West, very slow-paced. French kissing or "Deep Kissing" as Japanese people call it is really something longterm Japanese couples do. They are still sensitive but that's a big step and is a lot for the average Japanese person to handle right away. Their expectations just appear to be different. So when Haroshi denies Kanai, because of her condition potentially as a borderline, she takes this as outright rejection, triggering her abandonment anxiety, and she pushes away. But for babies, now in an adult body, outright rejection is existentially fatal. Haroshi, being more centered, is shocked, conflicted, and heartbroken but essential swept in under it all. He is really out of his depth with this , understandably so.
i read the title as "when someone obsessed with undertale becomes obsessed with you" and added this to my watch later, it popped up in my recommendations multiple times and never noticed i read it wrong until now (which all this is kinda unrelated but i thought it was funny)
I wouldn't say i have a yandere girlfriend, but she does have BPD and was very dependent on me for a lot of things. A few hours without talking or at least texting could cause a serious issue, as well as interacting with friends or family instead of her. She has since learned to control it a bit, and we both recognize it as a flaw, but i can't just abandon her because of behaviors her condition causes. If she was unwilling to be better, well that's another story. You don't have to get yourself someone perfect, be it morally, physically or economically. All you need is someone who is willing to better themselves and learn.
I have BPD and I am not optimistic about seeing it as a flaw, to me that line of thought led me to repress it until I'd have awful yandere breakdowns. I personally don't think I can suppress that part of my personality, it hurts me until I end up hurting others. I tried and it just doesn't work, the way I experience emotions is just too different from normal people. I only managed to be okay when I started dating someone else with BPD so we can both do it without being judged for being toxic.

She is a functional and talented person, just like anyone with BPD who receives the proper care and compassion can be, but at the beginning it was hard, and I was not entirely without fault as I had no experience with BPD beforehand. Nowadays we understand she needs a lot of attention and positive reaffirmation, which I try to provide. I'm glad you found someone who loves you with the same intensity you feel for them though.
Kanae has CPTSD and is also a SAV(because she’s a minor no matter if she “consented” or not). Those men know better and were taking advantage of her youth and vulnerability. So Kanae will never get better until she gets out of her house and gets therapy. Because as of now, she’s breathing toxic air wherever she goes. Therefore she’s also toxic(poisoned). I do feel bad for Ishka, but not more than I do for Kanae because Ishika was more than happy to see Kanae be bullied, so she’s toxic too. Her friend hurting Hiroshi has nothing to do with Kanae as people are responsible for their own actions. Kanae needs help and Hiroshi should definitely separate herself from him because she’s never going to be better while he’s around nor until she is old enough to get help. Which is a whole another issue of Japan culture itself.

Ichika was a monster and deserved to be hurt but what happened was fucked up and Kanae deserves shit now too. Oh wow, someone actually covered this manga and it got recommended on my feed. It’s one of my favourites but nobody knows it, I always come back to re-read it because I love the absolutely raw representation of mental health, the best I’ve ever seen.

The other one has an ending in which the police are refusing to properly punish the boy because he's mentally challenged and he's a minor. A big issue in Japan is how much the law protects these two way too much. Iiirc it's based on real life events but idk if the author experienced it themselves. I personally dealt with something similar but thank God I'm a male and not a small girl. Again I do not recommend reading any of his manga. When I started reading this manga years ago I honestly was kinda shocked how simular I was to the main character. Obvousily I didnt do those horrible things she did but the way how she thinks of others and espacily of herself reminded me so much of my own time as a Teenager. Yo this pissed me off. I just binged the entire series so far. What Kanae did to Ichika was down right EVIL. So, when I kept reading, I thought that Kanae was going to be a sort of Yandere villain who would start killing off characters or manipulate them to get her way to Hiroshi. But no, as a crazy obsessive character, she is toothless and weak. I thought the series was going to portray her as a villain protagonist. NO. Not in the SLIGHTEST. She has her freak out creepy moments, but she just caves into herself. Realistically. What pisses me off most is that the revenge that Kanae got on Ichika got was so bad and written as traumatic and realistic, that’s when I thought Kanae was going to be punished by the plot. So when the series goes sympathetic, and gives Kanae what she wants, all you think in the back of your head is, SPOILERS Wow she’s getting friends and getting close to Hiroshi. Making friends with the fat girl. But you know, chapters before she PAID FOR AND KIDNAPPED AND RECORDED ICHIKA GETTING GANG GRAPED. So I thought that, the story was supposed to give you a creepy undertone feeling as you see Kanae get happier and happier and replacing Ichika. Like as if, Kanae can’t have her cake and eat it too. It will all come crashing down on her eventually. But no, the series go as far to never address what happened to Ichika. Or if it was going to bite Kanae in the ass later. Not one lick, just a chapter of Ichika having PTSD and losing her friends. So this series sits inbetween starting off as a traumatic dark series and fades into a wholesome bipolar girl adventure. With the one evil event that invalidates any sympathy for Kanae in all later chapters. If the story just stayed in that dark phase, and led to consequence to Kanae’s actions, and what her psychotic tendencies would lead to and affect the other characters, it would make sense. But that revenge chapter sticks out like a sore thumb. To wrap it up, in a author note, the mangaka revealed themselves to be mentally unwell and kind of twitter crazy, taking meds and going to a mental hospital. Of course, they later say they stabilized themselves. So I’m sure that explains the earlier dark chapters. The main critique is that these chapters still exist in lore and Kanae is still a criminal who recorded a minor getting gang graped on her phone. Who also peer pressured her venting buddy to commit the deed as well. Kanae being outwardly responsible for hurting Hiroshi’s shoulder, causing more of a mess. Her getting her way with Hiroshi at the end. Chad Hiroshi being none the wiser. I expected more violence and death, but all I got was high school social commentary and bipolar girl tomfoolery. I expected to be shocked, but instead I’m being made to empathize with a nutcase. The same bipolar nutcase that isn’t crazy enough to do something plot engaging. She just cries and goes to a love hotel. Pray for king Hiroshi 👑🙏

As someone who was in Kanaye's position I can understand the hatred and disgust she must be feeling from being betrayed by the world around her while everyone else she turns to is expecting her to have the same normal as them (not having irresponsible who let their child get graped), I get her anger towards ichika to the point she would end up doing that. I remember being in similar vulnerable position in my life always feeling bad for myself and wanting to beat up anyone who says a word about me (cursing them to go through every single thing that I had to go through) it was due to feelings of jealousy and getting overpowered by other people's happiness and peaceful lives. I hated it cause I knew it was nice and no matter what I did I could never have what they had. But honestly there's no point in justifying the pain and hurt we give to others. We really can't change people or their perceptions without their will. Its really nothing we can do anything about. Once you become accepting of others for being the way they are and instead of comparing their lives to your own, life becomes an easier to flow with. I did have problems accepting this at start but the more I tried to be compassionate with myself rather than comparing with others the more easily I was able to accept ignorant people and their ignorant mindset and assumptions and expectations of me. Life became a easier path to travel in. People started looking like the roads I didn't needed to fix anymore. They don't need my experiences to feel grateful for their life and experiences, they don't need my guidance or counsel or love to show them the way. The need to be understood soon replaced with being happy, healthy and grateful about my own life. The changes I made, made life feel more exciting than brutal, I was able to see myself in a new light. Maybe I could have turned out like Kanaye but Thank God for saving me at the right time. Really this make me remember my story, when i was in middle school i got bullying by 2 guy(ah i am male btw), From physical (just like getting touch at face with dirty thing, getting locking and bullied playing with ny face) to the mental(making me embrass in friend group, spreading a false rumor to another people in the class) I really can't standup for myself in that time i don't know why? she went from someone who could end up with a yandere to becoming one (fairly, those two aren't too far from similar) in one of the most realistic ways i've seen
Finally an actually accurate yandere manga story man, a story that shows the problems of relationships and why you can't fix her(you really can't). Mangas in general only show the good sides of relationships or/and make them completely unrealistic. Many mangas make use of the concept of a random popular girl falling for a guy who got nothing going on in his life and is an introvert and the girl falls for him for the sillest reasons(because of self pandering for the audience), when in reality when a girl falls for a guy like that(very surprisingly) he'll stay in his own misery refusing to change and the girl realising she was dumb will leave him or stay with him and let him push her down. But this manga, this manga actually showcases a toxic relationship, it does what I actually wanted romance mangas to do(can't really name this one a romance manga tbh but u know what im saying), it actually shows how people actually behave, how someone can be tricked to be in a relationship because of their kindness, how a broken person can destroy your life, this manga is just real and is a warning to us readers about this kind people, and that's what I like about it, no sugar coating, just the straight truth, this manga is actually telling us about a realistic relationship, while other mangas just make a story where no one resolves their problems but somehow still get a happy ending because of bad writing.
But if you are one of the people saying "i can fix her" or "I want her", work on yourself dudes because if you actually would like to be in a relationship with Kanae, you must have it rough. Good luck on your journeys, we are all in our own timelines, just because you are doing bad now and others are doing well, that doesnt mean that you are below them because in the future you'll do better if you work on yourselves.

It isn't some cute obsessive thing, it is self-destructive, chaotic, and it drags you down the well with her until you feel nothing but apathy and resentment for her. been on that situation before, except i was the obsessed one (although i am now more mentally stable and decided to leave my now ex partner alone since i realized it was the most healthy decision for both of us). it is an awful experience for both people. so, if someone gets obsessed with you, even tho some people tell you to just tell them to fuck off, that's a very cruel decision imo. what you gotta do is make it clear that the person is breaking your boundaries and you do not and will not accept that. make sure the message goes through but don't be rude about it. then, if the person needs it, you can offer help. (Obviously you will most likely not be able to "fix" them right away, but you can at least make sure their situation doesn't get any worse by giving advice, sympathy, and let them know if they do or say something wrong). However, if you are the one that is obsessed, i recommend seeking professional help, meditating often, expanding your ethic, moral, and logic knowledge as well as your self awareness, and practicing cognitive behavioral therapy. things do get better eventually but it recquires active effort and dedication

[Final Part] When you think about this, Japan does not take mental health seriously any it shows.
Borderline Personality is possible to be far manageable but it will require intense work from a trained professional in the specific condition.
Stage 1: Gain trust. This takes time. If the person can see you as a trusted individual for one reason or another they will sit there and eventually start answering questions.
Stage 2: Digging. The Professional will ask various questions that dig into the person's history. It will start inoculated and eventually get pointed. It doesn't particularly matter how but it will happen at the professional's discretion.
Stage 3: Conflict. This honestly will happen throughout the process but deep enough, the person will beckme more volitile. Its not on purpose, the professional is just tampering with sensitive topics. So the person will react a lot. Its all sensitive so the professional has to be the grown up and communicate to the client the most calmly but firmly when necessary.
Stage 5: Core. Once enough trust, answers, crying, intense emotions, and ultimately defensiveness, the core will emerges: something akin to the inner child. But its very close to the inner child. The shame and vulnerability and fear will present itself as raw and very vulnerable. The professional will have gained trust to interact with the inner child and the inner child, a trust with the caregiver.
This profound stage is where the work will be akin to showing. It varies at times. But the child will open its world, revealing the truth of the horrors the being was exposed to at such an young age. To an adult, it is...inocculus but the one revealing it really needed support so it means an insurmountable importance. The professional is delicate but reassuring.
Stage 6: Rewriting & Repair. The professional will need to confess and tell the inner child what ought to/ should have happened in their childhood. The professional will affirm the inner child that they are actually a good girl/ boy/ person and that they needed someone to tell them that. I don't have proper words to describe this process but you are speaking to the person's inner child so you will be engaging akin to the parent they needed. In my guess, the client will feel incredibly safe.
Stage 7: Clear. The person will have undergone a notable change. This will sort of be noticed throughout the process but this part will be very noticeable. Their defense mechanisms will be overwritten , sort of. The person will feel bliss of yhe calm and the storm no longer being nonexistent but, there is yet so, _nothing_ . This is not to be alarmed.
The thing is, they will begin the rapid process of being raised or "re-Parented". They will get to know the _true them_ going forward.
Stage 8: Rediscovery & Empowerment. The person may find the new calm very relieving but will eventually wonder in this peace, 'Who can I be"? This is the beauty. Beyond the clear is discovery. You can start and be whoever you want to be so you move in life and rediscover yourself, your interests, likes & dislikes. They begin to actually value themselves in themselves as themselves.
And you do so with the professional. The good part is that all the skills you've gain while in your prior state transfer over.
This maintenance period is, imo, why therapy can prolong but its just as important. The goal isn't forever, its independence.
Stage 9: Self-Maintenance. The person gains confidence and can solve their own problems using the skills they learning in therapy. This stage could be relatively short but it is necessary.
Stage 10: Leaving the nest. The person has the whole sense of self and the ability to cope healthily in the world. The person makes their leave and has so make that transition. Some do not and attempt to prolong this process because of their strong ties to the professional but the professional will encourage confidently the client's departure. Its time to fly.
Like a kid going off into college it is a tearful goodbye but a confident one.
The person flies away and may stumble but the person will have enough confidence and begin to gather its own strength to fly strong and deal with its own problems to start its adventure with promise and great certainty.
The end.
These are my thoughts of the process imo of how the BPD person is transformed. I left quite a bit out. The professionals know FAR MORE than I do so I'd consult THEM. I mentioned, imo, a general idea but it is VERY intense. But it is good work to do. I appreciate every professional who have guided their clients towards better and more independent lives.
This is meant to show that these individuals, fictional or not, have a future that can be accessed.
I gathered this from many sources, some books, lots of mental health videos, some psych classes I took in the past.

I had a friend like this. Although she was a bit more self aware. Which makes it worse when she inevitably did alot of what happened in the manga. Unlike the manga she ended up in prison due to gang activities.

[Part 1] Seems like the character Kanai is based off a person in a splitting situation. So, she cannot see people in a general sense of reasonably good but solely good/ angelic/ savior or bad/ devilish/ the worst of all evil that deserves immense punishment. Children have this at early stage of development with their mother. Its one reason why they're clingy. They literally need it.
Her friend group is vicious and she has a poor sense of self and her fight response is possibly fawning. She thus doesn't have much of a healthy sense of self and thus she cannot defend herself.
Perhaps the domineering household taught her to comply & surrender than reasonably defend.
Her childhood is domineering, shame-based, and unsafe.
She probably isn't getting enough intimacy from her Father and her Mother is likely neglectful and unsafe. She seems to unconcsiously search for it through men in sexual experiences via repitition cpmpulsion.
The chaotic scrabble of her life is unstable and unpredictable.
My guess is that this character is suffering from traits of Borderline Personality disorder.

i was like this when i was younger and looking back i feel disgusted in myself, but also understand i did it cause i felt alone and felt that was all i was worth. this was also from a seventh/eighth grader too, so i was just a kid, but the people i affected were just kids too. ive gotten a lot of help tho, and am actively avoiding relationships cause with bpd i understand thats dangerous for me. but yeah no, you dont want someone like this. you do not want to romanticize something like this. its not good or healthy and it does not make you happy, its awful for everyone involved.
Get a relationship with someone else who has BPD or who's open to these things, you can control your most destructive mood swings with the right tools. No need to isolate yourself like that.

Yup definitely, I’m tired of people calling her a yandare because she’s got lots of the symptoms (real recognize real). I went through similar things as her (not to this extreme) and when I got diagnosed with bpd and got help things got so much better
@@depressinggen dont got borderline myself although i considered it as a teen. You cant diagnose someone as a teen though and im not really fitting the criteria anymore, but i know because i thought i had bpd as a teen and researched the symthoms a lot.

I have severely mixed feelings about Kanae, one part of me wants to take action against her such as by reporting as hard as I can to save other people like Hiroshi , the other part of me wanted to see her get revenge on her bullies no matter the cost and the other part of me is broken by the difference between her appearance and actions which crosses the line
Like, I don't want someone like this or like Sone Miyuki who hurts other people because they got hurt to exist chiefly because I know that revenge has the potential to create monsters and what they do to others isn't worth it, people don't need to become monsters because another monster hurt them and people have to band up and stop them before more lives get hurt.
As much as I understand what she did to Ichika and I mean revenge isn't simple, what she did to Hiroshi makes me want to seriously stop her for example by reporting even if knowing Kanae this will become intense.
It's like this, I feel way too angry hearing about these stories and it's why I feel I may need to avoid them for my own good both in real life and fiction. I need to watch something healthy. First, Curiosity killed the cat and secondly knowing that all of what happened to Kanae can be real worsens it and now thoughts about Tomato paste seem to be interested in me, you could say in a memetic fashion.
I don’t think it’s fair to compare Miyuki to Kanae, their situations are way too different. Miyuki resorted to that cause she was basically cursed to never love anyone else by a decision you make yourself. It wasn’t out of just pure hatred and wanting to see people suffer like Kanae, nor was it for some kind of selfish reason. Sure she broke down and went crazy but it was still more understandable than anything Kanae does.

[Part 2] 23:18 imo, another part is the issue here is that Japanese couples are, by comparison to the West, very slow-paced. French kissing or "Deep Kissing" as Japanese people call it is really something longterm Japanese couples do. They are still sensitive but that's a big step and is a lot for the average Japanese person to handle right away. Their expectations just appear to be different.
So when Haroshi denies Kanai, because of her condition potentially as a borderline, she takes this as outright rejection, triggering her abandonment anxiety, and she pushes away.
But for babies, now in an adult body, outright rejection is existentially fatal.
Haroshi, being more centered, is shocked, conflicted, and heartbroken but essential swept in under it all. He is really out of his depth with this , understandably so.
i read the title as "when someone obsessed with undertale becomes obsessed with you" and added this to my watch later, it popped up in my recommendations multiple times and never noticed i read it wrong until now (which all this is kinda unrelated but i thought it was funny)

I wouldn't say i have a yandere girlfriend, but she does have BPD and was very dependent on me for a lot of things. A few hours without talking or at least texting could cause a serious issue, as well as interacting with friends or family instead of her. She has since learned to control it a bit, and we both recognize it as a flaw, but i can't just abandon her because of behaviors her condition causes.
If she was unwilling to be better, well that's another story. You don't have to get yourself someone perfect, be it morally, physically or economically. All you need is someone who is willing to better themselves and learn.

I have BPD and I am not optimistic about seeing it as a flaw, to me that line of thought led me to repress it until I'd have awful yandere breakdowns. I personally don't think I can suppress that part of my personality, it hurts me until I end up hurting others. I tried and it just doesn't work, the way I experience emotions is just too different from normal people. I only managed to be okay when I started dating someone else with BPD so we can both do it without being judged for being toxic.
@@HopelessEvenings I meant that we consider her past behavior a flaw, not the BPD itself. She is a functional and talented person, just like anyone with BPD who receives the proper care and compassion can be, but at the beginning it was hard, and I was not entirely without fault as I had no experience with BPD beforehand.
Nowadays we understand she needs a lot of attention and positive reaffirmation, which I try to provide.

Kanae has CPTSD and is also a SAV(because she’s a minor no matter if she “consented” or not). Those men know better and were taking advantage of her youth and vulnerability. So Kanae will never get better until she gets out of her house and gets therapy. Because as of now, she’s breathing toxic air wherever she goes. Therefore she’s also toxic(poisoned).
I do feel bad for Ishka, but not more than I do for Kanae because Ishika was more than happy to see Kanae be bullied, so she’s toxic too.
Her friend hurting Hiroshi has nothing to do with Kanae as people are responsible for their own actions.
Kanae needs help and Hiroshi should definitely separate herself from him because she’s never going to be better while he’s around nor until she is old enough to get help. Which is a whole another issue of Japan culture itself.

Oh wow, someone actually covered this manga and it got recommended on my feed. It’s one of my favourites but nobody knows it, I always come back to re-read it because I love the absolutely raw representation of mental health, the best I’ve ever seen.

The other one has an ending in which the police are refusing to properly punish the boy because he's mentally challenged and he's a minor. A big issue in Japan is how much the law protects these two way too much. Iiirc it's based on real life events but idk if the author experienced it themselves. I personally dealt with something similar but thank God I'm a male and not a small girl.
Again I do not recommend reading any of his manga. If you dislike how the girl was kidnapped and 🍇 in the videos manga you will hate his other stuff.

When I started reading this manga years ago I honestly was kinda shocked how simular I was to the main character. Obvousily I didnt do those horrible things she did but the way how she thinks of others and espacily of herself reminded me so much of my own time as a Teenager. I'm really happy that I'm not like that anymore and that I have know a stabile life with good friends but this kinda brought back a lot of uncomfortable memories back

Yo this pissed me off. I just binged the entire series so far. What Kanae did to Ichika was down right EVIL. So, when I kept reading, I thought that Kanae was going to be a sort of Yandere villain who would start killing off characters or manipulate them to get her way to Hiroshi.
But no, as a crazy obsessive character, she is toothless and weak. I thought the series was going to portray her as a villain protagonist.
NO. Not in the SLIGHTEST. She has her freak out creepy moments, but she just caves into herself. Realistically.
What pisses me off most is that the revenge that Kanae got on Ichika got was so bad and written as traumatic and realistic, that’s when I thought Kanae was going to be punished by the plot.
So when the series goes sympathetic, and gives Kanae what she wants, all you think in the back of your head is,
SPOILERS
Wow she’s getting friends and getting close to Hiroshi. Making friends with the fat girl. But you know, chapters before she PAID FOR AND KIDNAPPED AND RECORDED ICHIKA GETTING GANG GRAPED.
So I thought that, the story was supposed to give you a creepy undertone feeling as you see Kanae get happier and happier and replacing Ichika. Like as if, Kanae can’t have her cake and eat it too. It will all come crashing down on her eventually.
But no, the series go as far to never address what happened to Ichika. Or if it was going to bite Kanae in the ass later. Not one lick, just a chapter of Ichika having PTSD and losing her friends.
So this series sits inbetween starting off as a traumatic dark series and fades into a wholesome bipolar girl adventure. With the one evil event that invalidates any sympathy for Kanae in all later chapters.
If the story just stayed in that dark phase, and led to consequence to Kanae’s actions, and what her psychotic tendencies would lead to and affect the other characters, it would make sense. But that revenge chapter sticks out like a sore thumb.
To wrap it up, in a author note, the mangaka revealed themselves to be mentally unwell and kind of twitter crazy, taking meds and going to a mental hospital. Of course, they later say they stabilized themselves. So I’m sure that explains the earlier dark chapters.
The main critique is that these chapters still exist in lore and Kanae is still a criminal who recorded a minor getting gang graped on her phone. Who also peer pressured her venting buddy to commit the deed as well.
Kanae being outwardly responsible for hurting Hiroshi’s shoulder, causing more of a mess. Her getting her way with Hiroshi at the end. Chad Hiroshi being none the wiser. I expected more violence and death, but all I got was high school social commentary and bipolar girl tomfoolery. I expected to be shocked, but instead I’m being made to empathize with a nutcase. The same bipolar nutcase that isn’t crazy enough to do something plot engaging. She just cries and goes to a love hotel.

its exactly as op says, if youre gonna read it, i just recommend the first 20 chapters and then stop as it stops being super dark and upsetting and turns into what may aswell be glorified highschool romance between a psychopath (who stops showing psychopathic tendencies past chapter 20) and a clueless guy

It makes sense now looking at op's comment that the author wasnt mentally okay during the start of this manga and it shows as the art is downright uncomfortable to look at, and i wish we got more of that NOT TO SAY I WISH THE AUTHOR STAYED LIKE THAT, just that i feel as though the sort of insight (if you could call it that) as to how the author's story telling brain was working during that time, and thats what made it proper unique from most yandere stories early on

As someone who was in Kanaye's position I can understand the hatred and disgust she must be feeling from being betrayed by the world around her while everyone else she turns to is expecting her to have the same normal as them (not having irresponsible who let their child get graped), I get her anger towards ichika to the point she would end up doing that. I remember being in similar vulnerable position in my life always feeling bad for myself and wanting to beat up anyone who says a word about me (cursing them to go through every single thing that I had to go through) it was due to feelings of jealousy and getting overpowered by other people's happiness and peaceful lives. I hated it cause I knew it was nice and no matter what I did I could never have what they had. But honestly there's no point in justifying the pain and hurt we give to others. We really can't change people or their perceptions without their will. Its really nothing we can do anything about. Once you become accepting of others for being the way they are and instead of comparing their lives to your own, life becomes an easier to flow with. I did have problems accepting this at start but the more I tried to be compassionate with myself rather than comparing with others the more easily I was able to accept ignorant people and their ignorant mindset and assumptions and expectations of me. Life became a easier path to travel in. People started looking like the roads I didn't needed to fix anymore. They don't need my experiences to feel grateful for their life and experiences, they don't need my guidance or counsel or love to show them the way. The need to be understood soon replaced with being happy, healthy and grateful about my own life. The changes I made, made life feel more exciting than brutal, I was able to see myself in a new light. Maybe I could have turned out like Kanaye but Thank God for saving me at the right time. I am right here, grateful for his blessings, ready to take on new challenges and being of service to people.

Really this make me remember my story, when i was in middle school i got bullying by 2 guy(ah i am male btw), From physical (just like getting touch at face with dirty thing, getting locking and bullied playing with ny face) to the mental(making me embrass in friend group, spreading a false rumor to another people in the class) I really can't standup for myself in that time i don't know why? Because both guy that bullying me is bigger than me?(And one of them is popular) Or my sensitive natural. But after high school thing getting better.
