Going to for sure make this for myself and a buddy. Very useful tool and as you age and your eyes go this will be more handy than you think!! Thanks for sharing.
Stuff like this is more less for aging anglers whose eyes are failing and finger dexterity is failing. If that's not you; congratulations for aging well. But if it is you; things like this Make tying knots a heck of a lot easier, But everyone is different. Doesn't even have to be aging people could just be anybody with less finger dexterity for fine finger manipulation. I myself just went under a complete reconstruction of my wrist and metacarpal area due to a severe injury at work a year ago at my second job outside of my business; due to some faulty equipment that they had. Lots of nerve damage and rerouting of tendons and ligaments in my dominant hand so my Fingers don't work like they used to even though I'm only 38. So things like this are appreciated cuz I can't even imagine how hard it will be for me tying knots as I age with this new limitation. Not going to give up my love of fishing though because my hands don't work the same and some trolls thinks that if you can't tie a knot with your fingers that you are somehow less than🖕. Funny how old guys think they know everything; yet some of those same old guys were giving advice when I was in my contracting business too; till I showed them a thing or two, and the response was "well I'll be Damned" not to mention I found it funny that they were giving me advice on contracting when most of them could only quote experience from grandpa's home garage rather than any ACTUAL expertise🤣, and I'm asking "well if you knew everything why'd you hire me? And look; the job got done, it got done quickly, got done easier, and it got done better."😂 🤷. Hard to teach old men New tricks cuz they're too afraid to let go of old ways and learn something new and think that they are less of a man if they have to ask for help or use a gadget to make things easier. You're not. So don't worry about the trolls in one of the previous comments that said just use your fingers. Congratulations to them for aging well. But for the rest of us; we appreciate it.
Very nice little trick. I'm only 42 but have broken fingers, hands, and wrists in my life and arthritis combined with a lump of bone in my index finger on my right hand make it hard to hold onto a hook any time the weather changes. I usually lock a small pair of vice grips onto the hook and lay them on my tackle box while I tie the knot. This looks like it could come in handy because I could rig one of these to my pole.
Excellent, due to nerve damage in my hands I have a very difficult time trying to tie fishing line to hooks and lures. This will definitely help a lot. Thank you very kindly for this creation of yours. You’ve helped an old man out that has fished for 65 years and still want to. Thank you again young man you made my day. 👍👍👍
Clever idea and it works. I've just been tying my knots by hand for 50 years and can't see me trying something new. However if arthritis ever gives me any problems your gadget will do the trick!
Would this knot-tying device make a line-to-leader knot, such as the FG knot, easier? If so, are there any videos here on RUclips that show that? Thanks.
There's every type of fishing knot on here to find and learn. For fly fishing look for braided leader loops, much easier way of adding a leader to fly line works perfectly. Also I find an albright knot easier and holds every it as strong and this knot.
Knot strength is most important, and by this I don't meant the type but also how to pull and tighten down. Any pinch points in your knot any flattening of the line through pulling the knot down plus the heat from friction will weaken the line at the knot. Palomar knots are great for anything from hooks to link swivels and links and Albright for line to line. Grinner knots are strong but cause flattening of the line at times needs attention while tying but another great knot.
Nice video. I am surprised you still have your fingers with the cut-off wheel right next your thumb, and the knife blade pulled toward your fingers and hand. if you were a Boy Scout from a while ago you would loose a corner of your "Tote-N-Chip" card for that demonstration.
I just use the latch catch on my truck of my rav for this you can also pull line tight with heavier setups sinching the knot with ten lb braid would Break the doo hickey
Have a look who the tool is Hook line and sinker all in one shot But wait a big fish is on the line as well so what a catch AFFA angels never die nffn HMS council

By hand ,First Priority, However, Aged hands, Very cold fingers, Kids with very limited interest in learning knots, This Mom, Dad, Kid project could spark more interest. Almost everything has an Application, as with all tools. This was very Creative. I made a Knot Tying tool out of a disposable shaver handle, a tiny metal ,channel piece from a windshield wiper frame, and super glued a dental floss cutter to the side of it. I love this kind of creativity. Wife calls me the mad professor, Lmao.
made 2 of these for my Grandpa today, he loves it! He can't wait to try it out on the water!! Thanks for sharing this
Halo selamat malam temanku..senang rasanya nonton video anda.Terimakasih sudah mau berbagi...
Learned this knot many years ago from my father, no tools necessary, just fingers.
Me to about 55 years ago. Used it commercial fishing to tye up salmon gear
Same here. I've used it for over 30 years
Same lol this is no where near a time saver I snap a line a got a new hook on as soon as I can find the dang bag of hooks😂
Yeah that’s unnecessary just tie with the fingers!!
Learned it by reading books over 49 years ago
Awesome way of tying a fishing knot. Wish I had, had this tool many years ago.
You must be fucking kidding lol. That is funniest thing I’ve ever seen. I love the level of work involved just make the contraption.
There are factory-produced "contraptions" just like this being sold in lots of places.
That’s in genius. Thanks for making it easier.
Thanks you
Going to for sure make this for myself and a buddy. Very useful tool and as you age and your eyes go this will be more handy than you think!! Thanks for sharing.
That's awesome but I've been tiring these knots for so many years my fingers muscle memory is impeccable
Always has to be at least one troll in the comment section. Lol. I can see this helping people with dexterity issues. Very nice.
GREAT! From one engineer to another; BRAVO!! I am making this for sure. At 76YO, my dexterity is less and this will fill a need. Thank you!
Thanks you
smart idea, great video. thank you so much for sharing.
Use a vice when cutting things that small mate, you're missus will not be happy when all you can give her is half a knuckle shuffle 👍

@3:12 PawPaw always said "cut towards the other person". I asked what if I'm alone he said "git you a mirror then"
Clever! Good, especially for beginners or people with diminished dexterity! Thanks for posting
Amazing! You still have all your fingers...
Thank you
Yes, I wonder why this tool common with jewellers and dental technicians is so often used in this very unprofessional and dangerous way?
Wow thank you for sharing I'm heading to the garage right now to try to make one I think I use a Coke or a Pepsi cap

😮 omgosh so Cool. Thank you. I will do this probably tonight
Props!!!! Brilliant!!
Thanks you
BRILLIANT AND SIMPLE WELL DONE!!!
Thank you
Cool😮
Крупные крючки легко вязать и без приспособления, а про мелкие есть у Вас что-либо?
good little idea, save buying any expensive or cheap chine knockoff tools.
pretty cool
Thanks you

Ide yang sempurna nihhh om...
thank you
Buen ingenio.Buen util casero para montar aparejos me ha gustado
Gracias
Great idea god bless
Just use a pair of fishing pliers it can do the same thing.
Very cool. Im surprised thats not already in the shops .
Thanks you
Clever idea and it works. I've just been tying my knots by hand for 50 years and can't see me trying something new. However if arthritis ever gives me any problems your gadget will do the trick!
If u are using circle hooks then it has to be a Dr pepper bottle cap for it to work properly.. coke and sprite aren't strong enough
That is too gnarly…
Cutting the sprite cap with your bare hands looked dangerous
👍👍👍👍👍💡💡💡💡💡
The two pound test wire is what we have trouble with. Why does everyone use the easy 20 lb line? Not so easy with thin line.
You don’t need to pull that hard with thin line
Great
Попробуй тоже самое с крючками # 18 - 20 по международной классификации и леской тонкого диаметра. Уверен, что с помощью этой шлоебени не получится.
😮👍🤗
Palomar knot..can do it blindfolded 10x faster
I would attach the swivel clip to the binder clip inside of the plastic cap before putting hot glue over it all.
Cool idea!
Thank you
Nice , will it's works with flies ? I mean , for fly fishing ?
These are sharp and durable. Use them for catfishing and they have never disappointed.
Muy buen invento voy a realizar y tomo evidencia
Awesome DIY fishing tool! About to make my a couple of those. Thanks for posting!
Thanks you
Bravo
Sensacional!
Thank you
I have gigantic paws and it seems like I am all thumbs when I am out on the lake. Maybe this could help me?
👍🏼🤙
Thank you
Это из разряда "очумелые ручки"!😂

more hot glue please :> nice idea :)!
🔝❕👍
Good helper to learn tho!!!!

My preference is the palomar. Simple and effective
@@DaddyyCrab I use it for pretty much all links 👍
@@binarymalehim I’m going ocean fishing next month. That knot works for salt too! 😎
Nice video. I am surprised you still have your fingers with the cut-off wheel right next your thumb, and the knife blade pulled toward your fingers and hand. if you were a Boy Scout from a while ago you would loose a corner of your "Tote-N-Chip" card for that demonstration.
Your idea is really innovative. I'm getting a lot of help.
+100
GENIAL!!!!!
Thanks you
Verygood
Thank you
How do you keep this tool from rusting away? In saltwater conditions It will last not longer than a few days.
Pack it in wheel bearing grease after each use
Jig doesn’t work well on light test line. He’s using extra heavy, probably heavy salt water test line.
Thanks you 👍
However l use a key ring and sash chain to hold the hook while sinching up knots
I just use the latch catch on my truck of my rav for this you can also pull line tight with heavier setups sinching the knot with ten lb braid would
Break the doo hickey
Have a look who the tool is
Hook line and sinker all in one shot
But wait a big fish is on the line as well so what a catch

I use a swivel instead of a chain 😊 try that
FisherMAN
wait wait....question...so fishes "attack" colored plastic cups...and eat them? pls tell me they spit them after they realize it's plastic
Reminds me of the containers my wife pours cereal into... unnecessary
Looking at the cereal box is 10,000 times more entertaining than looking at tupperware
let me know where i can purchase one when they are being manufactured
I cut my thumb off with the dremel, and now I can't tie the knot!
Oh the irony!

Good idea for people with impairments with their grip.
This isn't a tool its a Gadget. Tools have to effect the efficiency of the work gadgets just change the process but not real effort.
Not seeing why the bottle cap is needed unless it's just for easier grabbing ahold of it.
You can also buy a hook holder they make them they are only 7 dollars
Does this work with a Coke bottle cap?
MT criativo parabenzaço
❤
Can’t you do the same thing with a key ring and a paper clip?
Bem interessante mesmo parabéns
You mean you can spin the string?!?!
can you do this to do a leader
😂
No need for it, I got 2 hands... And that's not the only possible knot

Lmfao they already make these commercially
а как маленький крючок привязать первым способом
зачем городить огород с пробкой повесь кольцо сразу на зажим
Seems like alot of work just to tie a snell....
What's a fisher?
if u need a tool to hold a hook and turn line 5 times around itself 😂😂 bet its a comedy show watching people fish who need this 🙈
Neat idea, but no thanks. I'll stick with surgical clamps.
When they pull out the dremel I move on.
he could have heard the tip like he did in the second half
Merci ça va beaucoup m aider
Je commençais à désespérer mais là je crois pouvoir y arriver
Grand merci
Omg… what’s so hard about tying a knot
A tool for an improved clinch knot??? That’s the easiest knot to tie
Thanks you
My father can do those knots without even looking.
My brother in law who nearly cut off his fingers in a construction accident will love this thing since he has limited mobility
The 5 minutes it took you to do this I done tied 20 of the same knots lol
