  • @jerichojoe307
    @jerichojoe307 Год назад

    Stuff like this is more less for aging anglers whose eyes are failing and finger dexterity is failing. If that's not you; congratulations for aging well. But if it is you; things like this Make tying knots a heck of a lot easier, But everyone is different. Doesn't even have to be aging people could just be anybody with less finger dexterity for fine finger manipulation. I myself just went under a complete reconstruction of my wrist and metacarpal area due to a severe injury at work a year ago at my second job outside of my business; due to some faulty equipment that they had. Lots of nerve damage and rerouting of tendons and ligaments in my dominant hand so my Fingers don't work like they used to even though I'm only 38. So things like this are appreciated cuz I can't even imagine how hard it will be for me tying knots as I age with this new limitation. Not going to give up my love of fishing though because my hands don't work the same and some trolls thinks that if you can't tie a knot with your fingers that you are somehow less than🖕. Funny how old guys think they know everything; yet some of those same old guys were giving advice when I was in my contracting business too; till I showed them a thing or two, and the response was "well I'll be Damned" not to mention I found it funny that they were giving me advice on contracting when most of them could only quote experience from grandpa's home garage rather than any ACTUAL expertise🤣, and I'm asking "well if you knew everything why'd you hire me? And look; the job got done, it got done quickly, got done easier, and it got done better."😂 🤷. Hard to teach old men New tricks cuz they're too afraid to let go of old ways and learn something new and think that they are less of a man if they have to ask for help or use a gadget to make things easier. You're not. So don't worry about the trolls in one of the previous comments that said just use your fingers. Congratulations to them for aging well. But for the rest of us; we appreciate it.

    Very nice little trick. I'm only 42 but have broken fingers, hands, and wrists in my life and arthritis combined with a lump of bone in my index finger on my right hand make it hard to hold onto a hook any time the weather changes. I usually lock a small pair of vice grips onto the hook and lay them on my tackle box while I tie the knot. This looks like it could come in handy because I could rig one of these to my pole.

      For fly fishing look for braided leader loops, much easier way of adding a leader to fly line works perfectly.
      Also I find an albright knot easier and holds every it as strong and this knot.

    Knot strength is most important, and by this I don't meant the type but also how to pull and tighten down.
    Any pinch points in your knot any flattening of the line through pulling the knot down plus the heat from friction will weaken the line at the knot.
    Palomar knots are great for anything from hooks to link swivels and links and Albright for line to line.
    Grinner knots are strong but cause flattening of the line at times needs attention while tying but another great knot.
