for anybody still rune-collecting on their 6th alt, this is a good video. i'd add that it was faster (for me) to die twice in the cave than spend all the time clearing through. the GY is so close it's essentially right there.
mounted with monkey on, rode through the entrance (get dismounted once 'indoors'), weave right, die in the tunnel, corpse-run back through, die at base of platform, corpse-run to being uptop platform standing at tablet, rez, freezetrap mob, loot quest, hearth.

They broke down the corehound on hunter discord. Right now it’s a slightly worse wind serpent. Honestly I give it +10dps for cool factor

I tamed the core hound yesterday and it seems that the core hound cant trigger frenzy with his attacks right... it reaches 2 stacks and then it goes down. So focus fire is fucked. With my bear i always get 5 stacks easily

Whoa! This cave is not a joke. Plus, leveling from 40 to 50 inside Noghtmares don't help for weapon-skills and pet leveling also to 50 with you.
You have claw, bite, dash and prowl as your pet abilites. Do you use BM rune instead of the Growl or what's the deal there?
This pets abilities were tuned for raiding content so not ideal for the scenario I was in. I honestly play lone wolf MM most of the time and just kite everything, but that's just because I find it to be the most fun. Bite , claw, dash, and prowl held the highest dps output in P2 and was useful to have dash and prowl for some specific solo farms in dungeons like uldaman. Check my pet guide for p3 if you want to know what to do for your pet at lvl 50

got it. respawn rate for this pet is veeery low
what's the point of your raid pet not having growl? it doesn't take any TP and you can just turn it off.
Pet's can only learn 4 abilities total - so in this case my 2.0 attack speed cat has bite, claw, dash, and prowl. Prowl buffs the first attack making it more vaulable than growl. It's an EXTREMELY minor thing but i typically just do lone wolf in the open world anyways

Cool pet too bad its trash. Maybe situationally good vs casters in PvP. Should have made the flame breath an aoe attack.

Do you find range hunter better than melee?
It will never be, thinking only in DPS numbers, of course.
For raw dps output in raids melee probably still better. Still too early to say but ranged should be good this phase
Probably not. But ranged hunters have better crowd control than melee. Even if it's 10% less dps, that's a good trade off of you and to fulfill other roles, especially on fights that need special mechanics ( like thermaplugg)
@@SolidJakeGG I love range, but changed in ph2 when melee was the meta. I want to go back to range though. Any suggested builds, rotation? Should I just follow wowhead?

Too early to say but I prefer the ranged playstyle. Looking like we will have melee hunter, ranged hunter, and ranged with melee weave as 3 viable builds. Lots of testing I'll be doing this week before I release an early impressions video
You should use the item in Calefactus at 100% HP in order to weak him!
