You awesome Grandma! You taught me how to paint alla Prima in just 21 minutes. Keep motivating us with your wisdom, I wish you health and blissfulness.
I've been binge watching you since I injured myself a yr ago and feel it's time to express my deep appreciation for the depth and simplicity you bring to your quick tips. You are an exceptionally skilled teacher. You open the door to possibility and potential for learning, offering the tools to finding oneself as an artist. For this I am grateful. Thank you.
You are such a wonderful teacher! Thank you so much. I am most interested in portraits, figures or abstracts, but learn so many basics, such as these, from you. Many, many thanks!
Would you do a quick tip on doing watercolor straw? Love your videos! I’ve learned more from you in 3 or 4 videos than I have watching hundreds of others!
I think I know what you are asking for, but I'm not sure. Anyway, if you're asking for a technique to show straw in watercolor, that would be a good opportunity to do a Quick Tip with watercolor. Leave another comment if that's what you're asking for. Thanks.
Thank you so much!! Going to practice on all my brushes now- I was doing all wrong! Am compiling a list of your brush recommendations, I just have basic beginner so far. Wonderful lesson!
Dear Diane. This quick tip is so timely for me. I am working on a picture of the embankment in London during winter and have been struggling with the winter trees. I will start again using this palette.
Hi Diane, I think these techniques will solve some problems that I have experienced. I have quite a bit of your free stuff hanging on my walls. I really appreciate everything that you show us. Thank you. Julie 🥰
You are so adorable and very very talented, i just love your videos they are so well thought out and informative, thank you so much for helping all us budding artists your a gem :}
Its so exciting to discover how to paint. Your tips are so useful thanks again Diane. I haven't worked out how to press a love button but I send it to you anyway.
We have (as of this moment) 287 Tips on RUclips. Many of them address technical issues. You can find a list of all of them at ruclips.net/user/IntheStudioArtInstructioncommunity
I think your a great teacher for us learning different strokes thank you I just found you and enjoy all of your great infro will keep watching you I have learned a lot …thank you Darlene
Dear Diane. Greetings from the UK. Would you be able to do a quick tip talking about the different tube whites (titanium white, zinc white etc) and explain their different functions. Thank you very much for your marvellous channel and website. I have learnt a great deal from you
Dear Diana, I have wanted to study art since I was a child, but it didn't happen. I'm over 40 now and I'm unimaginably grateful that I can finally learn how to paint, I can't imagine a better teacher. You are an amazing teacher! The technical basics you teach help me see better, observe better, think better in every exercise. I'm less frustrated that due to a lack of technical knowledge, I can't paint the picture the way I want. All lessons are beneficial for me, however, would you recommend some instructions on how to go through your quick types? Or do you think it basically doesn't matter? Thank you very much for sharing valuable knowledge, experience and skills.
Petra Lo, currently we have filmed and posted over 300 Quick Tips in random order as we base these on viewer's requests. Roger, our producer, has put together a list which you can find under Community on our channel page ( ruclips.net/channel/UCJErPSUwVOXzRYDC4kWejnw ) I think the best way to study them is to go to that list and choose the ones whose titles address your need. We also have hour-long video tutorials at diannemize.com .
Why did not any of my teachers teach in the 17 units i took of art? My god how frustrating to learn i spent all that time and learned very little. Just a studio and a sink to clean up. Sad. We were left to our devices so much! One teacher put desks in a circle and i guess that was his best input. Love you tube and this teacher is the most complete in explaining. A person can figure it out but a quick exercise just to test out stuff speeds up things a lot or get you over being stumped
Thank you Dianne! Brush techniques is something I need more practice with. I always have a fear of thin lines....what if that last whisker on the cat turns out to be a 'thin line disaster' and wrecks the whole painting? It might not be the brush....it's probably the brush technique! Thanks again for your useful tips!
Its fine to stroke more for the first part of painting. I dont use medium except poppy oil and thats at the end. My goal is to then apply paint in one stroke placements for the end not dab dab or swipe then correct…
Hi Dianne. As usual, I found your video helpful. Can you tell me the make of the easel you're using? Do you use it for plein air too, or is it too heavy for that? Thanks!
It is the Sienna Pochade box easel, one of the first they made. Yes, I use it for plein air painting, too. It is the most sturdy portable easel I've ever used, and I've gone through at least three French easels over the years.
Love the video .✨This brush looks very fine on the canvas. Is it a rosemry &co brand? Is it sable hair? I want to buy it and try it on the next painting.

I have that one on our schedule. Since we film these several weeks in advance, look for it sometime in November.

The teacher's role is to guide and to give clarity to the process. If I can do that, I've done my job.
@@IntheStudioArtInstruction yes you do!
Your such a gifted instructor! Thank you.
Thank YOU!
That was very good video .kindly make videos different types trees . which brush are used to paint tree leaves
Thank you
It's not so much the kind of brush, but how you use it. A good flexible filbert or flat will do the job.
Thank you Dianne!
My pleasure.
You have awesome tips!!
Thanks so much!
Thank you so much for sharing!

What are the 40 brush strokes?
40 brush strokes (as well as 20 brush strokes) is an exercise I give for breaking the habit of over-stroking.
Awesome help! Thanks!

That particular brush is a Rosemary 274 short flat. I'm leaning more and more towards using Rosemary brushes exclusively.
So good!!!
