This is so horrible i got tears in my eyes. I'm actually most shocked not by the racist chants but la liga president's reaction. I did not see that coming. He actually proved Vini's point, perfectly. That response right there tells you immediately why racism in football exists in Spain.

The Valencia players should be ashamed of themselves. It's very disappointing that teams in countries like Spain & Italy put rivalry above backing a player on the pitch being racially abused, they should all be together fighting against it. Instead of backing Vinicius, the Valencia players chose to pick fights with him & just stir up the animosity all the more. Very poor showing.

Lewis Hamilton experienced racism at The Spanish Grand Prix in 2008.
There was the Luis Aragones incident with Jose Reyes and Thierry Henry in 2005.
And Rio Ferinand, Ashley Cole, Emile Heskey and Jermaine Defoe experienced racism in 2004 at The Santiago Bernabéu.
And these are only a handful of incidents.
Javier Tebas is a 60 year old man, he should know how conduct himself.
Regardless of whether his comments were stupid, or whether they were his actually thoughts. The reality remains that Spain has a long-standing problem, and the hope is that there will be some kind of progression.

Vini would not get racial abuse if he was not that good the only reason he gets racially abused is because the fans want him to get angry and get a reaction out of him if Vini just dribbled and never scored the opposition fans would not care. Most black players that have been racially abused in La Liga are good players like Eto Vini and Dani Alves.

You CAN’T stop individuals from doing what they’re doing apart from banning them trying to paint an entire league because of some fans is something only stupid English media can do…. This issue seems so insignificant to me maybe because I’m from a country where people are unsure where the next meal is going to come from that such issues are not even a far second concern in our minds….. i don’t see other black players in LaLiga complaining why only Vinícius? Racism in Spanish football was too bad. In 2004, I remember that Luis Aragones had a rant about Thierry Henry during the interview with the deceased Henry's Arsenal teammates, Jose Reyes, calling that French player as a "black ****". This was followed by an infamous rants from Spanish fans when Spain won against England in a friendly at Bernabeu, where Ashley Cole and Shaun Wright-Phillips were targeted by monkey rants.
Also, in 2014, Dani Alves was targeted by Villarreal fans with the infamous banana incident, but the Brazillian reacted it immediately.

By fining them, deducting points, awarding opposition clubs 0-3 wins, taking away broadcasting rights, banning them from UEFA competitions, and forcing the clubs to play matches behind closed doors. That will nip the problem in the bud and clubs will be forced to deal with the bad apple fans coercively

Vini Jr. has grown on me after watching him up close as a Liverpool fan. He is a worthy rival and a fantastic footballer. His comments have also always been eloquent and mature after repeated incidents of racist abuse. This, even though his treatment in Spain is disgusting, disturbing, and downright unacceptable. I am ashamed that such elements exist in the football community, but I am more outraged that the efforts to correct it lack any will and direction. Nothing has changed, except for the profit margins of culpable parties, since Theirry Henry launched the "Stand Up Speak Up" campaign to raise awareness about racism in football when the Spanish National Team coach called him a "monkey." I hope these Gen Z footballers continue to bring the spike and edginess of their generation to football and drag it into the modern era.
