Oh yeah I've heard it takes a week to get to Vladivostok from Moscow, Russia 🇷🇺. It sure is an extremely long train journey. I haven't been to Russia yet but I'd love to go to see Russia someday. Hello from Ireland 🇮🇪.
There is a new book out about the building of the railway. Much of the line was built by hand and not by heavy machinery. How does one get back to Moscow? A week-long return trip?
In May I will travel from Vladivostok to ST. Petersburg . I will have a few stops. I prefer to buy the 3rd class tickets. cheaper and looks more fun for the solo travelers.
On the channel "TheTravelingClatt" there is a good and funny vlog about the Trans-Siberian railway, they also took the cheapest tickets in the 3rd class. Perhaps this vlog will somehow help you on your trip.
Yuri Matoszko No but you can buy a ticket from - for example - moscow to nizhny-novgorod and spend a few days there and then buy another tickets from there to the next city you want to see
Like the woman said, only a very few do the entire 7 days in one shot. Most people probably stop half way and go 3 or 4 days without a shower. Its like camping but at least they have hot water and toilets..
Chinese 1st class passengers & Russian 1st & 2nd class could use shower. 2nd class passengers are charged extra 150 rubles (a little bit more than $2 as of 2018) for each use.

Almost everyone has survived weeks in coronavirus quarantine, a week on this train is nothing.
