The display of a Palestinian flag is a legitimate show of support and protest against an aggressive indiscriminate war. It is not support of Hamas in the vat majority of cases.
Remember it was the UK and France who occupied the middle east and came up with Sykes Picot, an arbitrary division of the middle east rather than an attempt to create lasting viable administrative entities - ie nation states.
As a result of this colonial heritage there are a lot of people in France who feel close to Palestine. Also there are a lot of French people feel strongly about the madness of Israel's war of elimination.
The Palestinian flag is the legitimate flag of the Palestinian Authority. For example it flies at the United Nations in New York. Displaying a Palestinian flag does not imply support for the Hamas maniacs.
