    As much as it pains me to say. They are finding the upper limits of antique, air cooled, pushrod VTwins. Water cooled OHC engines are the way. I’m a life-long shovel and Evo rider and have a Twin Cam sitting next to me in my garage. HD has the sharpest razor edge knife, at a gun fight.

    • @mrfast2win
      @mrfast2win 3 года назад +1

      They have not as of yet. The S&S bike is running Indian stage II cams which are 50 state legal( read mild) and a ported head. All other components are stock, other that the obvious a/c exhaust and tune. So overall a surprisingly close to stock motor. Garcia doesn't even have the cams. Not sure what Harley and Vance and Hines have done. But there modifying the 131" quite a bit from out of the crate. Vance and Hines was making over 30HP from what a stock 131" makes. The Harley team has worked on the chassis I suspect, That's where that bike lack's. Not in HP.

    • @KevinButler816
      @KevinButler816 3 года назад

      @@mrfast2win not to be argumentative but a stock Challenger is 122 at the crank about 109 at the rear wheel the Harley 131R is 162 HP at the rear wheel 163 lbft. A 50 state legal street cam with a tune will not get you near those numbers. An EPA compliant CAM limits the amount of tuning they can do to it. Now I'll agree that Harley is getting beat in the corners but it's no way the Challengers are running stage 2 cams because to make up for the 50Hp difference you'll need at least 70 no more at the crank. In Indians literature they are claiming only a 10% increase in HP with the 2 cams which puts it at 132 at the crank say 120 at the rear wheel.

      I found my information from Thunder Press. They did a tear down of the bikes after the race. Keep in mind the airbox on the Indian is a lot bigger than stock and the exhaust is different. Not to mention they no longer need to be tuned to meet emissions. It's hard to say but I suspect they're making closer to 145. And they haven't even made the motor larger. If they really start diving into the motor they should be able to come up with a lot more power. On the other side the motor company has obviously done some improvements on their chassis.

    So they discontinued breakout and fxdr. Niiice most beautiful bikes after dyna wide glide 2009-2014 models. Yeah I bought a flat and my plan was to buy a bike after 2-3 years and what I ll buy - a deluxe 100 years old ugly bike or cvo with one big eye. Breakout and fxdr were for aure comfortable to but and badass. Emmm however I ll buy Indian at least is cheaper - a little bit less torque and cc but much cheaper and are acceptable good for the eye design.
