Sorry this is a long comment but it has to do with this discussion. For a couple years I went to a church that was teaching a lot of false stuff(I didn't know it at the time because I didn't know the Bible). They said they were nondenominational but they were kind of Pentecostal/chatismatic based I think. They taught a lot of weird stuff. They thought they could speak in tongues, they used instruments in worship, sometimes they had a guest speaker guy that thought he was a Prophet, most of them didn't believe baptism was necessary, rarely did communion, etc. I'm so glad I got out of there, I had eventually started going to the wonderful church I attend now and also another church of Christ congregation some while still attending the crazy church some. I started hearing and learning what the Bible really teaches and quit going to the weird church and learned the truth and obeyed the gospel. Also, I have one of the Southaven lectureship books! The one from last year 😊
When I was a kid, the churches I went to never practiced speaking in tongues. I never knew much about it. The church I go to now as an adult seems to line up with my beliefs & what you talk about believing to be right also... but there’s a woman there who will shout and talk in jibberish sometimes and a few others who get really emotional & cry during times that seem inappropriate. I’m interested to learn more about why people feel like they need to do this. Do you have any really in-depth studies on it?
I think you may be making too much of "The Apostles" having to lay-on hands to receive the Spirit. The NT text does not exclude tongues or any other supernatural gifts from continuing. Every text you mentioned you had to read-into the text. For example in 1 Cor 13 you said "when that which is perfect is come" you said means when we have the NT. That's quite a "leap" right there for something that could have multiple possibilities. Otherwise I agree with much of what you're saying.
Hey Brother Aaron, I dont know if you have ever seen the video of Sid Roth from the broadcast called It's Supernatural teaching "how to speak in tongues", but if you type "teaching how to speak in tongues sid roth" into the youtube search engine, it will be the first video to come up. It is only 1 minute and 50 seconds long, but well worth the watch. It is absolutely ridiculous and it is even worse when you realize that people fallnfor this garbage. I wouldve posted the link here for you, but didnt want to put false doctrine on your video.
"That which is perfect" is not clearly talking about the bible. Context would suggest the second coming of christ.... im a cessationist myself but using that verse doesnt support it....

Hello Taylor! I do have some very in depth studies on it! Email me at Gallagher@GBNTV.org and I can get you some great info! Thank you for commenting!
