Imagine facing him in high school. We played on the same summer team together our junior year. Dude came out of the bullpen one night, hit 97 on his first 3 pitches. We all laughed is disbelief. He was a good guy as well.
As a Diehard Yankee fan. I've watched the whole game on YT and it makes me emotional. What an accomplishment. - We tried to make him re live his glory days in [our] Pinstripes. What a well spoken, great guy.
What a fun look back at some historic pitching performances. One nitpick is that of Randy Johnson's two 19-strikeout games in 1997, the first one on June 24 was the one he lost. He was probably so bitter about it that he went out and did it again on August 8, this time getting the win against the White Sox
Tom Chaney truly deserves the record for the most strikeouts in one game. Thank you for the well deserved introduction. Many fans do not remember his 21 strikeouts.
Kerry wood was something else. Him and prior both had insane stuff. But clemens and johnson did legendary thing for decades. With Pedro and Maddux in the top ten all time pitchers. I actually have Pedro as the best of the Era. Pedro might be the one pitcher of all time I'd pick to start a game.
Moises alou was one of the best. Dude could rake like a boss. His acl injury robbed his speed. But check out his career numbers. He was a crazy strong hitter
I do this in MLB the Show when I'm not even watching the strikeout counter. I feel like that has to be Clemens 1986 game and I have to think Clemens was deliberately trying to break his own record in 1996.
With a perfectly accurate strike zone, not human umpires, there would never be a 20k game gauranteed. You can only get that many if the batters are taking pitches that should be balls, or swinging at balls that are being called strikes.
Thank goodness. This is good stuff and I'm glad you don't that "YT ALGORITHM ENGAGEMENT" voice cadence where every sentence is roughly the same length, while oscillating his voice so every sentence ends the same pitch snd inflection.
I still remember watching Kerry Woods 20k game on TV live. I've rewatched that game quite a bit over the years.

@@Dogdad19 that's awesome lol. So glad they just put him and Aramis Ramirez in the Cubs HoF.

I'm a cardinal fan but my best friend is a cubs fan and we watched that game also. Really cool to watch.
Right there with you! I consider myself so fortunate to have been watching the game that day

It’s always good day when we get a new Sportsesque video
Point about the Astro lineup-
Had Alou played a full career he’d be in the hall too. Look at his numbers.

once again, this is a good channel

And he should've been the 1997 world series M.V.P.

Scherzer was just toying with the batters in his 20K game. He literally had every pitch working that day. 1st game against his old team (Detroit)
I was at the D-Backs/Reds game. That was a wild night.
Yeah Kerry wood did it against the best team in baseball at the time
Thank goodness. This is good stuff and I'm glad you don't that "YT ALGORITHM ENGAGEMENT" voice cadence where every sentence is roughly the same length, while oscillating his voice so every sentence ends the same pitch snd inflection.
Do you have brain damage?
Try doing it in 7 innings
Piazza still owns Clemens
Max is a mad man
Roger Clemens said he did it twice bc you know anyone can do it once.
I like the Pete Rose joke.
3:47 Eric Andre Show reference
"And Buckner would be wrong, not the worst mistake he made that year." Bruhhh cold blooded 💯💀💀💀🤣🤣🤣
Poor timing on the Pete Rose comment😢 RIP
RIP PETE ROSE
Jesus Tigs are cursed lol
The Pete Rose joke at the end is genius 🤣
Clemens was a stud. idgaf what anyone says
As good as any pitcher ever. Period
Plus his 20k games were before he started juicing.
He was a bad dude
On
Skibidi
Wood was all downhill after this. He was a real life Al Bundy, with his 4 touchdowns in one game moment. And that last K he had in 2014 was scripted
Thr gratuitous dig at Pete Rose at the very end is unfunny and ruins the whole effect of this video for me.
As a 40 year old life long Cincinnati reds fan.... Fuck Pete rose. He ruined our teams reputation and place among base royalty
Shut up
we care…
@@poindextertunes grow up op
Chill out Pete, we all know your game is baccarat.
6:05 No wonder he pulled 15 year olds with that sexy photo....
